King Charles announces that Queen Elizabeth II is dead

COGwriter

AP reported the following:

September 8, 2022

Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch and a rock of stability across much of a turbulent century, died Thursday after 70 years on the throne. She was 96.

The palace announced she died at Balmoral Castle, her summer residence in Scotland, where members of the royal family had rushed to her side after her health took a turn for the worse.

A link to the almost-vanished generation that fought World War II, she was the only monarch most Britons have ever known.

Her 73-year-old son Prince Charles automatically becomes king, though the coronation might not take place for months. https://apnews.com/article/queen-elizabeth-ii-health-update-b2578aa91c3fef9c5d6ad4a557bf63e4

The BBC reported he will officially be called King Charles III. The BBC also reported that at age 73, he is the oldest person to become King in British history.

That said, in the Bible we read about a promise to King David of Israel:

12 “When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. 15 But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 16 And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.”

17 According to all these words and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David. (2 Samuel 7:12-17)

Therefore, there should be a leader on a throne somewhere.

Where?

Is it possible that the British Royal Family could have descended from the kings of ancient Israel?

Some have asserted this is so.

The Royal House of the British Empire is able to trace back its ancestry many centuries further than any other now existing. This is not merely a statement of some not over-careful enthusiast, whose desire is, though unconsciously, to unduly magnify the already great dignity of our Sovereigns; it is a solid historical fact, soberly admitted in a written acknowledgment by the late memorable Queen Victoria, endorsed by her husband, Prince Albert.

The Rev. F. R. A. Glover, an accomplished scholar and a diligent antiquarian, about the middle of last century was led into an examination of the Royal pedigree in connection with the production of a book he was then writing on a cognate subject, and having made what he considered a discovery in reference to the Queen’s remote ancestry, he sent her Majesty a letter intimating the nature and result of his labours. In reply he got what both surprised and delighted him

The Queen’s answer was a most; gracious letter, in which she acknowledged Mr Glover’s, and informed him that she was already in possession of the facts of which he had spoken concerning her ancestral line.

This communication, instead of indicating any disapproval of Mr Glover’s work, gave him great encouragement, and led him to believe that the facts were actually accepted as genuine by the Royal Family — as true and authentic.

Now. this line of descent is simply the one which connects the Princess from the East who ai rived in li eland in the year 586 8.r., in the charge of the old wise man who brought with him the Stone of Destiny — Lia Fail. -The Princess, who wedded the Heremon, or supreme ruler, of Ireland, is by this argument made out to be the ancestress of our present King, and if our previous efforts have been correct, the line is by this means traced back unbroken to King “David of Israel, to whom it was promised by Divine interposition that he should never want a man to sit on his throne.

Tea Tephi, who came from the East, is certainly, then, the connecting link between our Royal House and some more remote line of kings ; and there are many circumstances that go to show that she and her guardian undoubtedly spoke the language of the House of David — Hebrew — and that the age in which she and her companions lived, has left much in the language of Ireland that was pure Hebrew. (Adams RN. The King’s Pedigree. Otaga Witness, September 24, 1902, p. 69)

Before going further, it perhaps it should be mentioned that a naysaying critic in at least one somewhat slick video from 2022, supposedly disproving British-Israelism claimed, that there were no Hebrew linguistic connections to the British Isles and that Teah Tephi was someone who was made up by researcher Frederick Glover in the 19th century. That is false.

Teah/Tea Tephi herself is mentioned in an old Irish poem from the 6th century and is referred to as Queen in a ballad from the 11th century which was translated in the Annals of the Four Masters by the 1630s. The 6th century poem says that Tea married Heremon. The 1024 ballad refers to the grave of Tea as also the tomb of Tephi, and also says, “Tephi, ‘the most beautiful.’” (McDonald RH. The Hill of Tara. Journal of the British Archaeological Association, Volume 1. 1895, pp. 274-275).

That said, in the 16th century, Stuart King James I claimed to be the King of Israel (Brackney WH. Historical Dictionary of Radical Christianity. Scarecrow Press, 2012, p. 61).

In 1860 and 1881, Frederick Glover wrote about the connection between the children of Israel and the British. Later, he shared information with Queen Victoria, whom he believed concurred (Adams RN. The King’s Pedigree. Otaga Witness, September 24, 1902, p. 69)

Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, was the last surviving granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Princess Alice was the main patron of the British-Israel-World Federation organization which formed in 1919. She attended the federation’s first Congress in July 1920, and remained a patron of the BIWF until her death in January 1981 (Stanley B. Christianity in the Twentieth Century, A World History. Princeton University Press, 2018, p. 24).

Furthermore, notice something that the then Duke of York, who later was King George VI of Great Britain from 11 December 1936 until his death on February 6, 1952, reportedly wrote in 1922:

… I am sure the British Israelite business is true. I have read a lot about it lately and everything no matter how large or small points to our being ’the chosen race.’ (George, Duke of York. Letter, 1922. Facsimile printed in The Independent, April 6, 1996 per Crawford H, Leo R, eds. Scholarship, Sacrifice and Subjectivity: The Renaissance Bible Today. Taylor & Francis, 2021, p. 113)

So, even the last King of Great Britain, before Charles, believed in British-Israelism.

That being said, have any in the current Royal Family believed in British Israelism?

Well, as it turns out, a longtime colleague of mine (who asked not to have his name be publicly connected because it could impact his relationship with the Royal Family), told me on April 6, 2022, that decades ago, Prince Charles privately told him that “he believed that the British royalty was part of the line of David, but would never say this in public or print” and that Charles seemed to know a lot about the matter.

Yet even if no one in the Royal Family believed in this, the reality is that England’s coronation ceremony helps demonstrate a connection to the Bible’s King David.

Zedekiah was the last king of Judah. Some believe that after coming with them to Egypt (Jeremiah 43:5-7) the prophet Jeremiah brought at least one of King Zedekiah’s daughters to Ireland. There, it is believed that one of them married another descendant of Judah and the royal line continued in Ireland until it moved the the island of Britain. The coronation marriage in Ireland was believed to have taken place at the Hill of Tara. A place my wife and I visited a few months ago.

Related to that, the Continuing Church of God put together the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:

23:07

Dr. Thiel went to the Hill of Tara in Ireland to see the claimed Lia Fail as well as a location where some looked for the Ark of the Covenant. He also went to Blarney and viewed the Blarney Stone. Were any of these really the stone of destiny that some believe the prophet Jeremiah took with him along with one or more daughters of King Zedekiah? What might any of this have to do with the British family? Have any of them believed in British-Israelism? Has the British coronation ceremony been consistent with biblical coronations of the kings of Judah? What about Prince Charles–could he have descended from the throne of David? Dr. Thiel provides insights on these matters and more.

Yes, there are biblical ties for the Royal Family.

And yes, there are prophetic ramifications of this as well.

The late evangelist Raymond McNair wrote about Charles and his princely investiture in 1969:

The “Crown of Thorns”

It is interesting that the designer of the crown which was used at Prince Charles’ recent Investiture, admits that the crown resembles Christ’s Crown of Thorns. The London Daily Mail printed an interesting article in which it revealed this interesting fact. “Even its designer [Mr. Louis Osman) concedes there is a hint of the CROWN OF THORNS in the coronet which will crown Prince Charles Prince of Wales next week” (Daily Mail, June 25, 1969). “In the intertwining shapes there is a suggestion of the humblest of all crowns, the Crown of Thorns,” said its designer, Mr. Osman.

Is it mere coincidence, or is it by Providence, that Prince Charles’ Investiture Crown was modelled in such a way as to resemble the Crown of Thorns? Notice the MOCK Coronation Ceremony, on the eve of Christ’s death!

“And they stripped Him, and put on Him a SCARLET ROBE. And when they had platted a CROWN OF THORNS, they put it upon His head, and A REED (symbolizing a ruler’s staff or a sceptre) in His right hand: and they bowed the knee before Him, and mocked Him, saying, Hail, KING of the Jews!” (Matt. 27:28, 29).

Notice these important points. They knew Christ said He was born to be a king. Christ was, in fact, a direct descendant of the Royal Line of the House of David!

The “scarlet robe,” the “crown of thorns” and “the reed” or sceptre were all given to Christ to mock Him — because they knew He claimed He was born to be a king — a king of the Jews.

Even His superscription, written on the cross, had these words in it: “This is Jesus the KING OF THE JEWS” (verse 37).

Is it merely coincidence that Prince Charles’ crown was made to resemble this “Crown of Thorns”? It is most interesting that the One who was mocked by being given a “Crown of Thorns” nearly two thousand years ago, will soon succeed Prince Charles (or whoever sits on the Throne at that time) and sit upon the very Throne of David – which Prince Charles, as the Heir Apparent will undoubtedly occupy …

Christ to Occupy David’s Throne

There can be no doubt that the present Royal Family of Britain are the direct descendants of the ancient Jewish King, David, and that Queen Elizabeth II sits upon the very Throne of David, and that one day in the near future there will be another crowning — perhaps the last in this age — on this Throne before the Messiah comes and takes over the very Throne which He was born to occupy — the Throne of His earthly father David. …

Jesus Christ will return to this earth in supernatural power — and glory to sit upon the “Throne of David” and to rule all nations from Jerusalem, Palestine (Matt. 25:31, 32). (McNair R. The Astounding Truth Behind the World’s Oldest Throne. Tomorrow’s World Magazine, October 1969)

While the description of the coronation crown can be debated, if King Charles survives into the Great Tribulation, he looks to personally have a prophetic role (cf. Hosea 7:11-12).
