King of the South in 2012?

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

COGwriter

Notice the following from James Zumwalt:

Iran’s constitution mandates the Islamic Revolution that brought the theocrats to power in 1979 be exported internationally. In a nutshell, the goal is to establish a global caliphate in which Islam reigns as the supreme religion. This goal is to be achieved with the help of the Mahdi. (Zumwalt J.  Iran’s Dynamic Duo Dedicated to Global Destruction.  August 13, 2010. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=38528)

This has been reported here before.  And I saw a speech, several years ago where Mahmoud Ahmadinejad basically stated the same thing.

As I have written before, it appears that the Imam Mahdi that the Iranians and some of the Sunni Muslims expect may be the same person as the prophesied final King of the South in the Bible (Daniel 11:27-40).

Here is some though, from James Zumwalt that was of additional interest:

Last April, Ahmadinejad wrote to President Barack Obama. To date, the White House has refused to release the letter. At a time the Obama Administration refuses to even recognize an Islamist threat exists, one can only wonder why its contents have yet to be released.  As the Koran states the Mahdi will not return in an odd-numbered year, as world chaos is to precipitate his reappearance, as Ahmadinejad claims the Mahdi’s return will occur before his presidency ends in 2013, as a dying Khamenei claims the return will happen before his death, and as Iran stands on the brink of arming itself with nuclear weapons, Khamenei and Ahmadinejad view the planets as all falling into alignment for them.

From the vantage point of these two fanatics, 2012 may be shaping up as the year of the Mahdi’s return.

It may be that late 2012 (based upon the Islamic calendar) will see the emergence of the 12th Imam, the Imam Mahdi.  However, if this is the same individual that will be the final King of the South, contrary to what the Iranians tend to think, it will not be an Iranian leader.

Because most of the directional information in the Bible uses Jerusalem as the focal point, and since Iran is almost directly east of Jerusalem, Iran will not be the King of the South.

The final King of the South will be from North Africa (though further south is possible) or the Middle East and likely will be of Arabic or Cushite descent according to information in the Bible.

Based upon God’s 6,000 year plan for humanity to rule itself, it is certainly possible that this leader will rise up in late 2012.  However, I should also add that Islamic prophecy does not have the same reliability as biblical prophecy, hence it is possible that the Mahdi will rise up in 2010 or 2011.  Also, I would not be surprised if Ahmadinejad provokes Israel to strike in 2010 as this is something that seems to be a real possibility.

There is an interestingly Shi’ite prophecy that says that the Imam Mahdi will rise up when a country that sounds like the USA has a black president.  Notice what Forbes’ writer Amir Taheri reported:

Is Barack Obama the “promised warrior” coming to help the Hidden Imam of Shiite Muslims conquer the world?

…a pro-government Web site published a Hadith (or tradition) from a Shiite text of the 17th century. The tradition comes from Bahar al-Anvar (meaning Oceans of Light) by Mullah Majlisi, a magnum opus in 132 volumes and the basis of modern Shiite Islam.

According to the tradition, Imam Ali Ibn Abi-Talib (the prophet’s cousin and son-in-law) prophesied that at the End of Times and just before the return of the Mahdi, the Ultimate Saviour, a “tall black man will assume the reins of government in the West.” Commanding “the strongest army on earth,” the new ruler in the West will carry “a clear sign” from the third imam, whose name was Hussein Ibn Ali. The tradition concludes: “Shiites should have no doubt that he is with us.”

In a curious coincidence Obama’s first and second names–Barack Hussein–mean “the blessing of Hussein” in Arabic and Persian. His family name, Obama, written in the Persian alphabet, reads O Ba Ma, which means “he is with us,” the magic formula in Majlisi’s tradition (for more details, please see Barack Obama in Islamic Prophecy?).

Since Barack Hussein Obama is tall, is considered to be black, and he leads the most powerful army in the world, it makes sense that a lot of Shiite Muslims believe that he may fit the Islamic prophecy. (Perhaps I should add that while I have seen wild speculation how 2012 can be found in Islamic prophecies, that date itself does not seem to be there. However, there are several Islamic prophecies that many may find of interest, please see The Arab World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy for details.)

If Barack Obama does not get re-elected, he will be in office until January 19/20 2013.  And if he is not replaced by another black leader, then if the Shit’ite prophecy is correct, it would seem that the Imam Mahdi would rise up by early 2013.  And that part seems to be consistent with biblical prophecy.

So, 2012 represents a year that Barack Obama and Ahmadinejad should be presidents of their respective lands. Time may be close as the emergence of the final King of the South does not have to wait that long.
