Spain has been reeling from terror attacks yesterday and various actions today:

Spain was already on high alert for a possible attack when a van smashed into the crowd on Barcelona’s famous Las Ramblas boulevard, killing 13 people.

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy called it a “jihadist attack”. It is believed an Islamist cell of at least eight militants was involved. …

In recent years Spain has intensified its security co-operation with neighbouring Morocco, and police in both countries have arrested dozens of suspected jihadists, sometimes in joint operations.

There is believed to be a Moroccan connection in the Barcelona case.

The van driver is still on the run, but police have arrested two suspects: 28-year-old Driss Oukabir, a Moroccan believed to have rented the van, and a man from Melilla – one of Spain’s two enclaves bordered by Morocco. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-40973190

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Spanish police intensified a manhunt Friday for suspects behind two deadly vehicle attacks on civilians, shooting and killing five people wearing fake bomb belts who attacked a seaside resort and arresting four others believed linked to the carnage wrought on a Barcelona promenade.

Spanish authorities said the back-to-back vehicle attacks Thursday afternoon and early Friday morning – as well as a deadly explosion earlier this week in a house elsewhere in Catalonia – were related and the work of a large terrorist group.

The Islamic State group quickly claimed responsibility for Europe’s latest bout of extremist violence, which left 13 dead and 100 wounded after a van roared down Barcelona’s historic Las Ramblas promenade on Thursday. Hours later, a blue Audi plowed into people in the popular seaside town of Cambrils, killing one person and injuring five others.

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy declared Friday that the fight against terrorism was a global battle and Europe’s main problem.

Police said they arrested two more people Friday, after an initial two were arrested Thursday – three Moroccans and one Spaniard, none with terror records. At least three of them were nabbed in the northern town of Ripoll. My wife Joyce and I were in Barcelona, Spain a couple of months ago, and were in the area that yesterday’s attack took place. Many visit Barcelona and this makes it a target for terrorists.

Now the Spanish have long been aware of possible terrorist plots against its cities. Notice something from the past:

An ISIS-linked group that was committed to carrying out a jihadist attack in Madrid was broken up on Tuesday, Spanish police said.

Three Moroccan nationals were arrested in early-morning raids in Madrid and Rivas-Vaciamadrid.

“The terrorists were extremely radicalized and had assumed terrorist discipline and ideology completely,” national police said in a statement released by Spain’s interior ministry. “They were perfectly organized and [worked within a] hierarchy and each one of the components had a determined role.”

When it was broken up, the group’s members were “totally radicalized” and committed to “terrorist ideology … showing their total willingness to carrying out an attempt in the city of Madrid.” …

The arrested trio was fully willing to “carry out terrorist acts,” it said, adding that the leader of the cell recruited others by spreading ISIS doctrine and “terrorist discipline.”

Despite this, generally, Morocco and Spain get along. But Jihadists do not like that.

If Moroccans are potential terrorists, what about all the migrants from Syria, which has not had much of a positive relation with the West? What about those from Iraq who, like many Syrians, believe the West caused their country to be harmed?

For quite a few years I have been warning that it is highly likely that riots and civil unrest involving a combination of Islamic and economic issues would happen in Europe. Problems in Europe will propel the rise of the final King of the North of biblical prophecy (Daniel 11:31-45), who is also known as the Beast from the sea in Revelation 13.

The Bible also tells of various deals that the Europeans will make with the Arabs (Daniel 9:27, 11:25-27; Psalm 83:2-8)–some of which will not turn out well for the USA. But despite such deals, War is Coming Between Europeans and Arabs.

While there currently are humanitarian issues and economic ones to consider related to Islamic refugees/migrants, the reality is that the risk of increased terrorism should not be overlooked. As repeatedly mentioned in previous posts, the Bible prophesies that more terrorism will hit the USA and other parts of the world (cf. Leviticus 26:14-17; Deuteronomy 32:25; Ezekiel 21:12; Psalms 73:12,19; Proverbs 1:25-27; Ecclesiastes 12:5).

Many in Islam see ‘holy war’ (Jihad) involving deceit as acceptable, as the following Islamic teachings show:

Bukhari 3,49,857 Muhammad said, “A man who brings peace to the people by making up good words or by saying nice things, though untrue, does not lie.”

Bukhari 4,52,267 Muhammad cried out, “Jihad is deceit.”

Bukhari 5,59,369 Bin Maslama volunteered to kill an enemy for Muhammad, then said, “Give me permission to deceive him with lies so that my plot will succeed.” Muhammad replied, “You may speak falsely to him.”

Bukhari 8,78,618 Abu Bakr, the prophet Muhammad’s closest friend and adviser and first convert to Islam, said, “If I make a pledge and later discover a more worthy pledge, then I will take the better action and make amends for my earlier promise.”

the Quran, the perverted equivalent of our Bible, teaches in chapter and verse that all infidels, meaning we Christians, Jews and others such as Hindus, must be eliminated from this earth as Allah, their false god, wants.

Here are just a few passages:

“Prepare against them whatever force you are able to muster, and strings of horses, striking fear into the enemy of God and your enemy, and others besides them.”

“Fight and slay the Pagans wherever you find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem [of war]. … The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter.”

As a result, anyone who practices Islam is required to adhere to these strictures. This means that all true Muslims have at a minimum a latent disdain if not hatred, like Obama, for our Judeo-Christian roots, even if they will not admit it. In effect, this helps explain why the overwhelming majority of Muslims rarely speak out against acts of terrorism, domestically and overseas, and why Obama himself has steadfastly throughout his presidency refused to link the theology of Islam generally to terrorism. Although not all Muslims act in accordance with the Q’uran, those that do feel justified to commit horrific acts of violence.

Spain was hit. It has also been able to uncover some Islamic plots of violence. But as more and more Islamic migrants end up in Europe and North America, the risk of ‘successful’ terrorist attacks increases.

The USA and Europe will be hit with more terrorism and civil unrest.
