Nikki Haley says it is time for a new generation to lead the USA and she wants to be that leader:

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor and United Nations ambassador, announced her candidacy for president on Tuesday, becoming the first major challenger to former President Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination.

The announcement, delivered in a video, marks an about-face for the ex-Trump Cabinet official, who said two years ago that she wouldn’t challenge her former boss for the White House in 2024. But she changed her mind in recent months, citing, among other things, the country’s economic troubles and the need for “generational change,” a nod to the 76-year-old Trump’s age.

“You should know this about me. I don’t put up with bullies. And when you kick back, it hurts them more if you’re wearing heels,” Haley said. “I’m Nikki Haley and I’m running for president.” …

If elected, Haley would be the nation’s first female president and the first U.S. president of Indian descent.

The daughter of Indian immigrants, Haley grew up enduring racist taunts in a small South Carolina town and has long referenced that impact on her personal and political arc. https://apnews.com/article/nikki-haley-running-for-president-f28052019e8ac3846cd125b3d9614d4f?utm_source=homepage&utm_medium=TopNews&utm_campaign=position_04

Former South Carolina Republican Gov. Nikki Haley announced Tuesday in a video that she will run for president in 2024. Haley is expected to deliver remarks Wednesday in Charleston at a campaign launch event.

“The Washington establishment has failed us over and over and over again. It’s time for a new generation of leadership to rediscover fiscal responsibility, secure our border and strengthen our country, our pride and our purpose,” Haley said in the video.

Haley served as US ambassador to the United Nations under former President Donald Trump. Trump, who announced his bid last year, recently appeared to bless her entrance into the race, telling reporters that she had called to tell him she was considering a campaign launch and that he had said, “You should do it.”

So, it looks like Nikki Haley has already broken a promise (though perhaps Donald Trump is not seeing it that way). Presuming she did break her public promise, while that makes her like other politicians, that is not something she should have done.

Now, ever since Margaret Thatcher was prime minister of the United Kingdom, I have felt that it is likely that the USA would end up with a female president or at least a highly influential woman in a top level federal government job. As it turns out, the four remaining predominantly British-descended nations (the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand) all have had not only queens (they shared the same ones), but all have already had a woman in the office of prime minister. And the USA does have a female vice president (Kamala Harris).

The prime minister is the chief executive official in a parliamentary system of governance. As far as the USA goes, the announcement by Nikki Haley brings the following scripture to mind:

12 As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths. (Isaiah 3:12)

Notice that the above verse is pointing towards disaster. Of course, it is not that males leaders cannot lead to disaster–for they can. Notice also the following, which do not mention gender:

43 The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower (Deuteronomy 28:43).

16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed (Isaiah 9:16).

As one of Indian heritage, Nikki Haley would be a Gentile and not a descendant of the tribes of Israel.

As far as women ruling goes, the old Plain Truth magazine had the following back in 1969:

The Bible foretold, in advance, the exact overall conditions that would confront the nations of the English-speaking world today — the end-time descendants of the ancient House of Israel. . . In this advance warning to our nations we read: “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee” — including sociologists and others who condone sexual freedom, espouse a “never punish” philosophy for child rearing — “cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths” (Isaiah 3:12). Whether you believe this prophecy was directed toward our people or not — you have to admit it describes our day and age! …

Utter Confusion

In the Western, “progressive” world; the sexes already are beginning to dress alike and wear their hair alike — or, in some cases, switch styles. “Unisex” fashions are becoming the “in thing” in some circles. Even leading department stores are featuring “unisex” lines in special boutique booths. Leading magazines point up the growth of “hippy communes.” “Unisex,” “free sex,” “swinging singles,” “wife swapping,” “the Pill,” “sexual revolution” — these are the phrases newspaper headlines are made of today. Utter confusion about sex, marriage and the family is rampant. But where are all these changes leading us? Many leading specialists who study family life admit that the family is changing profoundly. But they do not agree on what it is becoming or where it ought to go from here.(Armstrong GT. Modern Romans, Part 1, Plain Truth, August 1969)

The ‘utter confusion’ that began in the late 1960s has worsened in the 21st century. It is now to the point that the ‘liberal elite’ say you cannot tell a male from a female by their anatomy, but need to accept whatever ‘gender’ someone wishes to identify themselves by. That being said, it is not that a woman in necessarily a worse leader than a man, but there are warnings in scripture. Nor, to her credit, has Nikki Haley been holding to some of the absurd positions of the LGBTQ+ crowd. She is also anti-abortion.

That said, notice now the following about the prophetess Deborah:

4 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time. 5 And she would sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the mountains of Ephraim. And the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. 6 Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, “Has not the Lord God of Israel commanded, ‘Go and deploy troops at Mount Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun; 7 and against you I will deploy Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude at the River Kishon; and I will deliver him into your hand’?” 8 And Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!” 9 So she said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” (Judges 4:4-9)

Deborah held a leadership position, but even she indicated that it was to a male leader’s shame. But most in the USA overlook what the Bible teaches.

If the following biblical prophecy has an end-time fulfillment, it seems to suggest that a male leader will be in charge when the U.S.A. falls:

7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off Like a twig on the water. 8 Also the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, Shall be destroyed. The thorn and thistle shall grow on their altars; They shall say to the mountains, “Cover us!” And to the hills, “Fall on us!” … 10 When it is My desire, I will chasten them. Peoples shall be gathered against them When I bind them for their two transgressions. (Hosea 10:7,8,10)

If Hosea 10:7-10 has end time connotations (and part of it seems to, cf. Revelation 6:16), AND presuming that the Hebrew word translated as “king” literally means a male, then it might be possible that if there becomes a female President of the United States, that somehow she would not be in office at the end. That said, I do not believe that an end-time fulfillment of Hosea 10:7,8,10 could be fulfilled prior to 2026.

While the Bible lists many roles for women (cf. Proverbs 31), there are some roles that are discouraged and some that are prohibited (see Women and the New Testament Church). Beyond that, though, the Bible lists standards for leaders, that neither the Democratic nor Republican nominees possess:

19 Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God. 20 And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do. 21 Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. (Exodus 18:19-21)

2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me,
And His word was on my tongue.
3 The God of Israel said,
The Rock of Israel spoke to me:
‘He who rules over men must be just,
Ruling in the fear of God. (2 Samuel 23:2-3)

None of the current major candidates for the USA presidency (like Donald Trump and apparently Joe Biden–though Biden may not run) hate covetousness, have the proper fear of God, nor proper respect for His laws and statutes.

Notice something else related to women in Isaiah 3:

16 Moreover the Lord says:

“Because the daughters of Zion are haughty,
And walk with outstretched necks
And wanton eyes,
Walking and mincing as they go,
Making a jingling with their feet,
17 Therefore the Lord will strike with a scab
The crown of the head of the daughters of Zion,
And the Lord will uncover their secret parts.”

18 In that day the Lord will take away the finery:
The jingling anklets, the scarves, and the crescents;
19 The pendants, the bracelets, and the veils;
20 The headdresses, the leg ornaments, and the headbands;
The perfume boxes, the charms, 21 and the rings;
The nose jewels, 22 the festal apparel, and the mantles;
The outer garments, the purses, 23 and the mirrors;
The fine linen, the turbans, and the robes.

24 And so it shall be:

Instead of a sweet smell there will be a stench;
Instead of a sash, a rope;
Instead of well-set hair, baldness;
Instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth;
And branding instead of beauty.
25 Your men shall fall by the sword,
And your mighty in the war.

26 Her gates shall lament and mourn,
And she being desolate shall sit on the ground. (Isaiah 3:16-26)

Irrespective of which of who gets elected in the USA, expect that in time, there will be problems and that whoever gets in will do things to the shame of the USA.

The USA does not have long to last, irrespective of who becomes its next president (e.g. see Might the U.S.A. Be Gone by 2028?).

Pray for leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-3). Pray for God’s Kingdom to come (Matthew 6:10).
