European nations continue to take steps against Islamic clothing that conceals a woman’s face. Portugal just took a step that way:
Portuguese parliament approves ban on wearing face veils in public spaces
Portugal’s parliament has approved a bill banning face veils worn for “gender or religious” reasons in public, in a move seen as targeting the face coverings worn by some Muslim women.
The bill was proposed by the far-right Chega party, and received support from the centre-right PSD, Liberal Initiative and CDS-PP. Left-leaning lawmakers, including from the PS, Livre, PCP and Bloco de Esquerda parties voted against the initiative.
The measure prohibits the “use, in public spaces, of clothing intended to conceal or obstruct the display of the face”, as is the case with the burqa — a full-body garment that covers a woman from head to foot — and niqabs — the full-face Islamic veil with space around the eyes.
It also prevents the act of “forcing someone to hide their face for reasons of gender or religion”, the parliamentary initiative reads.
Exceptions include when facial concealment “is duly justified for health reasons or professional, artistic, entertainment or publicity reasons”. …
The law will now be debated in the parliamentary committee on Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees, where it may also be amended. Over the past several years European nations such as Switzerland, France, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, and the Netherlands have banned burqas and/or other Islamic garb that covers the face, and last week a Swedish official wants his nation to also look into that (see Sweden now looks to ban burqas–Europe will push out Islam).
Muslims obviously do not care for these threats and the other bans. But many in Europe feel that these bans will reduce Islamic encroachment of their culture.
Another concern is that the Portuguese government, like various other governments, believes that religion should conform to its values. That does not bode well for true Christianity in Europe in the future.
The time will come when Islam will be pushed out of Europe!
Burqa bans are a step in that direction. Burqa and veil bans in Europe are Orwellian steps–and more totalitarian steps will be put in place that Muslims and others will not like.

Heinz-Christian Strache (later Vice Chancellor of Austria) has declared that Islam has no place in Europe. Did Germany’s Angela Merkel call multiculturalism a failure? Will there be deals between the Muslims and the Europeans? Will a European Beast leader rise up after a reorganization that will eliminate nationalism? Will Europe push out Islam? In addition to cultural and other biases towards Muslims, official reasons for veil bans have to do with security issues.

In the UK, there have been a number of discussions related to it in recent years. The State of Hate report found that 43% of Conservative voters and 20% of Labour voters support a ban on religious face coverings. The security arguments surrounding a potential face veil ban centre on the idea that it could be used as a ‘camouflage’ for terrorists. …
Looking at the experiences of European countries which have banned the niqab it is clear that, although arguments around secularism and feminism are made for introducing a ban, they have been coupled with arguments related to surveillance and national security. A 2017 paper looking at the ‘burqa ban’ (burqa refers to a full- face covering, including the eyes) in France found that legal documents spelling out bans or restrictions often use overtly neutral language and refrain from explicitly referring to the burqa. However, it argues that direct links are often made between veils and security.13 In a televised leaders’ debate during the 2017 UK General Election, Paul Nuttall, then-leader of UKIP, claimed that the niqab renders CCTV as ‘ineffective’.14

In 2011, France became the first European country to pass a nation-wide ban on the wearing of the full-face Islamic veil in public spaces – a law that was passed nearly unanimously by the French parliament and upheld by the European Court of Human Rights in 2014. Since then, several other European states – Belgium, Bulgaria, Austria, the Netherlands and Denmark – have followed suit in banning or restricting the wearing of Islamic face veils. Other countries like Italy, Spain and Switzerland enforce partial veil prohibitions in certain cities or regions. While these laws do not mention Islam or Islamic headgear by name, instead referring generally to any garments covering the face in order to avoid violating anti-discrimination provisions, they are widely believed to be targeted at Muslims and, for this reason, are often referred to as “burqa bans.”
Proponents of restrictions on Muslim veils make three main arguments. First, they claim that enveloping Islamic veils present a physical security threat, insofar as Muslim women might use these traditional Islamic garments to conceal weapons or explosives. “You could carry a rocket launcher under your veil”, as the former President of Latvia, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, put it. Similarly, Paul Nuttall, former leader of the UK Independence Party, justified banning the burqa on similar physical security grounds: “Obviously we have a heightened security risk at the moment and for CCTV to be effective, in an age of heightened terror, you need to be able to see people’s faces.” Finally, British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, compared Muslim women in veils to letter boxes and bank robbers.
A second claim made by proponents of veil restrictions is that the veil represents a lack of proper Muslim integration into mainstream European society, which, in turn, creates populations vulnerable to radicalisation. In this view, the different Islamic headgears cover the face and prevent the participation of Muslim women in society. Much of the world in general, and Europe in particular, want to be able to track everyone in public, and often in private (e.g. see European government efforts to surveil all messages and chats and EU ‘Digital Services Act’ an Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth’?).
Europe will end up as the Orwellian totalitarian ‘666’ power of Revelation 13.
While bans on veils are not the most serious step that way, they are consistent with the desire to have totalitarian controls.
