Denmark moving right: Removal of migrants an important factor

Denmark has taken a move towards the “right” at least partially because of migrant matters according to the following:

Denmark is on the verge of a power shift after Mette Frederiksen’s government formation talks collapsed. After an extremely close and fragmented election in March, the incumbent prime minister spent months trying to build a coalition but was ultimately unable to reach an agreement with potential partners.

Danish King Frederick X has now set a new course, asking the leader of the Venstre party (Liberals), Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, to begin negotiations to form a center-right government. This move effectively means that the king no longer sees Frederiksen as the next head of cabinet, and Poulson could become the next prime minister. …

Immigration has been a key issue for voters, and Frederiksen tried to attract voters with promises of deportation reform during her campaign aimed at expelling more foreign nationals convicted of serious crimes. …

While Denmark has taken stronger anti-migrant positions than some nations, apparently voters there want even stronger actions.

But it is not just Denmark.

EU Parliament approves controversial bill to increase migrant returns

MEPs approved a law enabling member states to build deportation centres outside the EU, endorsing talks with non-recognised third-country entities and imposing entry bans on returned migrants.

The European Parliament approved on Thursday a law aimed at speeding up the return of irregular migrants in larger numbers by building deportation centres outside the EU, alongside stricter rules reflecting a shift in political priorities as Europe pivots to the right.

The law will also increase the legal detention period to up to two years and impose practically unlimited entry bans in the EU on the returned people.

The “return regulation” is considered crucial to increasing the return rate of people with no legal right to stay in the EU and is seen as the cornerstone of a fresh European push to crack down on irregular migration.

What the EU is doing is consistent with what Donald Trump was doing in his first term by having migrants not enter the USA, but stay in Mexico.

The idea of return hubs has a lot of support among EU nations. Notice something from last December, which also mentions Denmark:

After the European Union significantly tightened its immigration policy earlier this month, 19 EU countries on Wednesday urged the European Commission to finance “return hubs” outside the bloc for failed asylum-seekers. 

Interior ministers from the 27-member bloc greenlighted a package of measures on December 8 that include the opening of return hubs and harsher penalities for migrants who refuse to leave European territory.

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Sweden called on the Commission to make the changes possible.

“Specifically, the EU countries want … the Commission to help ensure, going forward, that the financing of, among other things, return centres can be done using EU funds,” the Danish immigration ministry said in a statement, with the signed letter sent to the Commission attached. …

As long time readers of this COGwriter Church of God News page are aware, I have long stated that Europe would push out migrants, particularly Islamic ones.

So, what will happen?

Some migrants will be deported.

Eventually, Europe will reach a breaking point and change. Many Europeans want major change now as the vote in Denmark and the earlier vote in the EU Parliament demonstrates.

If the EU goes and tries to push out a lot of migrants, there will be a lot of civil unrest and probably riots.

Islamic issues will be a factor in the rise of this Beast leader–the Bible shows that a European Beast leader will, after destroying the USA (Daniel 11:39), push against and overwhelm a power from the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43).

The migrant situation in Europe will be a cause for more civil unrest. Civil unrest leads people to look for strong, and often dictatorial, leaders.
