Pope Francis holds ‘interfaith’ meeting in Argentina. What is the real reason why?

COGwriter

Pope Francis was part of an ‘interfaith’ meeting in Argentina:

(Zenit.org) |

Yesterday afternoon, Pope Francis met with 45 members of an important interfaith group from Argentina who returned from a visit to the Holy Land. The Holy Father, who will also visit the Holy Land in May, met with the group at his residence in Casa Santa Marta…

In a communique sent by the Holy See Press Office, the interfaith group included 15 Jews, 15 Muslims, and 15 Catholics…

Many members of the group have known the Holy Father for many years when he served as Archbishop of Buenos Aires. Then Cardinal Bergoglio collaborated with them in interreligious dialogue as well as joint charitable projects. The group expressed their friendship and closeness with the Holy Father at the conclusion of their pilgrimage. They also conveyed their best wishes for his upcoming trip to the Holy Land.

Also present at the meeting was Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Commission for Religious Relations with Jews and Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue.  http://www.zenit.org/en/articles/pope-meets-with-interfaith-group-from-argentina

The real reason for the meeting was to help pave the way for a coming ecumenical unity.

Notice that Cardinal Kurt Koch was there.  He also has another title.  Cardinal Kurt Koch is head of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. Cardinal Koch and Pope Francis are trying to put together an ecumenical church that is warned about in biblical, and even certain Roman and Eastern Orthodox Catholic prophecies.  Catholic leaders believe that in end times that compromise will happen, the Orthodox, Jews, Muslims, Russians, Chinese, Indians, and others will accept their end time ecumenical faith.

It was also interesting to note that many who met with Pope Francis have known him for many years.  Earlier this week, I saw a video from Kenneth Copeland Ministries that featured Anglican Episcopal Bishop Tony Palmer, who has also known Pope Francis for many years (Bishop Palmer knew him when he was known as Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio).  Anyway, Bishop Palmer basically declared that since the Lutherans made a deal nearly 15 years ago with the Vatican, there are no more Protestants and all are Catholic again (see see Protestant endorsement of the ecumenical agenda: Kenneth Copeland do you not understand? and/or watch the video Charismatic Kenneth Copeland and Anglican Tony Palmer: Protestants Beware!).  Details related to that ‘deal’ are in the article Beware: Protestants Going Towards Ecumenical Destruction!

It needs to be made clear that Catholic plans and prophecies declare that after an ecumenical synod/council not only will the Protestants and Eastern Orthodox join with them, the Jews will too.  Catholic writings also teach that after war and because of intervention of their version of ‘Mary,’ the Muslims will come to their church as well.

Notice two related Catholic writings (note: in Catholic writing, the term “Turk” often is a term for Muslims):

D.A. Birch (1996): The Pope calls an Ecumenical Council which will be viewed as the greatest in the history of the Church. The world is spiritually and materially prosperous as never before and many Jews, Mohammedans, heathens and heretics will enter the Church. (Birch, DA. Trial, Tribulation & Triumph: Before During and After Antichrist. Queenship Publishing Company, Goleta (CA), 1996,)

Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (died 1837): “described to me the great ordeal ahead. Rome would be battered by revolutions…Millions of men would die by the sword in war and civil strife, other millions would perish in unforeseen death. Then entire nations would return to the unity of the Church, and many Turks, Pagans and Jews would be converted and their fervour cover with confusion the original Christians. In one word she told me that our Lord was intending to cleanse the world and His Church…” (Bessieres A. Wife, Mother and Mystic (Blessed Anna Maria Taigi). Nihil Obstat: Carlos Davis, S.T.L. Imprimatur: E Morrough Bernard, Westmonasteri, die Februari, 1952. Reprint TAN Books, Rockford (IL), 1982, p. 166).

As some of these predictions are consistent with biblical prophecies in Revelation 13 and Daniel 11, when they do come to pass, many will falsely believe that the Catholic Church of Rome represents the church that Jesus founded.

Notice also the following Catholic prophecies:

Rudolph Gekner (died 1675). “A great prince of the North with a most powerful army will traverse all Europe, uproot all republics, and exterminate all rebels. His sword moved by Divine power will most valiantly defend the Church of Jesus Christ. He will combat on behalf of the true orthodox faith, and shall subdue to his dominion the Mahometan Empire. A new pastor of the universal church will come from the shore (of Dalmatia) through a celestial prodigy, and in simplicity of heart adorned with the doctrines of Jesus Christ. Peace will come to the world.” (Cited in Connor, Edward. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Willinger, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno; Reprint: Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford (IL), 1984, p.36).

Venerable Maria of Agreda (died 1665): It was revealed to me that through the intercession of the Mother of God that all heresies will disappear…The powers of Mary in the last time will extend the reign of Christ over the heathen and the Mohammedans and it will be a time of great joy when Mary, as Mistress and Queen of Hearts, is enthroned. (Culleton, The Prophets and Our Times, p. 173)

Brother Louis Rocco (19th century): Terrible wars will rage all over Europe… In Istanbul (Constantinople) the Cross will replace the half-moon of Islamism, and Jerusalem will be the seat of a King. The southern Slavs will form a great Catholic Empire and drive out of Europe the Turks (Mohammedans), who will withdraw to North Africa and subsequently embrace the Catholic faith. (Dupont, Yves. Catholic Prophecy: The Coming Chastisement. TAN Books, Rockford (IL), 1973, p.76)

Notice the following Bible prophecy:

40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels.  (Daniel 11:40-44)

So the Bible shows that a European leader (who will profess Catholicism) will take over the lands currently dominated by Muslims.  While Catholic writings tend to act like this is a good thing (they tend to call this leader ‘the Great Monarch’), the Bible warns against this European King of the North and also refers to him as the Beast in Revelation 13.  Muslims should realize that ultimately, ecumenical dialogue with the Catholics will lead to war (and that is also even consistent with Islamic prophecies, see The Arab and Islamic World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy).

The late Roman Catholic Archbishop Fulton Sheen wrote:

It is our firm belief that…Islam…will be converted to Christianity…It is our belief that this will not happen through direct teaching of Christianity,  but through a summoning of the Muslims to a veneration of the Mother of God.

Notice also the following Catholic prophecy related to ‘Mary’ and the Jews:

Magdalene Porsat (19th century): A grand event shall have to take place in order to terrify the wicked to their advantage. After this, Mary, all-powerful, shall change all men into good wheat. All shall be good. The Pharisees (the hypocrites) will be the last (to be converted); the great brigands (great sinners) will arrive beforehand. The Jews who have refused to receive Jesus Christ in his humiliation will acknowledge him at the glorious arrival of Mary…The hour is not far distant. It is Mary in person! (Rossi, G. THE CHRISTIAN TRUMPET, OR, Previsions and Predictions about Impending General Calamities, The Universal Triumph of the Church, The Coming of Antichrist, The Last Judgment, and The End of the World. Compiled by PELLEGRINO [Gaudentius Rossi], A Missionary Priest with Superior’s permission. Boston, THOS. B. NOONAND & CO., 1873, p. 135)

The Bible warns that signs and lying wonders will deceive the world (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12), and ‘Marian’ apparitions are likely to be part of this (cf. Isaiah 47).  Catholic writings believe that ‘Mary’ will intervene and help their ecumenical cause.

Pope Francis seems to be the most ‘Marian’ focused pontiff in quite some time.

Of course, some have concerns about ‘Mary.’

The following was written over a decade ago by a member of the Orthodox Church and is warning people that false apparitions claiming to be Mary will lead to people to Antichrist:

“Mother goddesses” known in the ancient world were not just confined to the Near East and Mediterranean but are universal. The Kogi Indians, among whom we lived in Columbia, worship a spirit called Nabuba, the “Ancient Mother.” When Roman Catholics missionaries attempted to evangelize the Kogi int he last century, they used a not-uncommon strategy for drawing pagan peoples into Rome’s fold: rather than explaining the differences between the pagan mysthology and Christian truth, they found “equivalences,” Christ, under this syncretistic view, corresponds to the Kogi Sejukukui (a trickster god who faked his own death by hiding in a cave), while Nabuba is said to be the Virgin Mary. This confusion has led the Kogis to call their pagan temples “cansamaria,” a corruption of “casa de Maria” (house of Mary).

Given these Roman Catholic “evangelistic methods” of more than a century ago, it is it any wonder that contemporary “apparitions” of Mary are invariably accompanied by ecumenistic messages promoting the idea that all religions are equally valid and Orthodox Christianity is but one “path” among many? A recent issue of Orthodox Tradition (1966) contains the account of Matushka (wife of a Russian Orthodox priest) Katherine Swanson’s trip to Medjugorje, Croatia, to investigate the most famous of the recent cases of apparitions of Mary in the Roman Catholic world. In it she recounts a telling episode:

Our guide took our group for an audience with the “seers.” During this audience, a pilgrim asked one of the children the following questions: “Does the Virgin say that the Catholic Church is the true church?” The response given by the child provides clear evidence of the ecumenical content and religious relativism which, oddly enough, increasingly mark the “revelations” at Medjugorje: “Our Blessed Mother says that all religions are equally pleasing to God.

The Life magazine article, then, is yet another contribution to this line of thought. Given the idea that all paths are equally valid, then all “Marys” are equally valid, too. The author describes several of the Marys of our times: Miearculous Mary (such as at Medjugorje), Mediator Mary (Who, as the author quotes Fr. Andrew Greeley saying, lets people into Heaven through the “back door”), (Editors notes: the Orthodox Church of course never taught about the “back door”, and of course one only prays that this is a matter of a figure of speech, but let us not dwell on the “back door”, but the gates of Paradise, the Kingdom of our God). Mediator Mary of the feminists, and Mother Mary. This last one, Mother Mary, is the role which the author considers the most appealing to non-Catholics: “The emotional need for her is so irresistible to a troubled world that people without an obvious link to the Virgin are being drawn to her. It is known that Muslins revere Mary as a pure and holy saint…Interdenominational Marian prayer groups are springing up throughout the world. Many Protestants, even some who still reject notions of a supernatural Virgin, miss Mary.”

To which Mary are Muslims and Protestants being drawn? The Protestant Reformation rejected the distorted view of Mary which had developed in the West since the Schism of 1054, and which would ultimately result in the Roman Church’s proclamation of their dogma of the Immaculate Conception. But Protestantism did not just reject the Western view of Mary; it ignored Her altogether, in effect denying Her role in the Incarnation and, consequently, the part She plays in our salvation. As Rome began to see her more and more as a “goddess,” a fourth Hypostasis of the Trinity, as it were, the Protestants reacted by down playing Her position and refusing to honor Her at all, this in spite of the Gospel words:“All Generations Shall Call Me Blessed.”

Today, as heterodox Christians become more and more ecumenist and work toward creating a “One World Church,” the search has begun for a Mary of universal recognition, one who will appeal not only to those who bear the name Christian, but apparently to Muslims and others as well, just as attempts are likewise being made to identify the “new Christ” with the Muslim concept of their coming Mahdi and with the Messiah still awaited by the Jews. This, of course, will be no Christ at all but the antichrist.

Notice what Bishop Kennedy of the Celtic Orthodox Church wrote:

The great deceiver of Fatima promises salvation to those who embrace devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary… We can be very certain that God did not send Mary to earth to change God’s eternal plan of salvation. It is just this kind of deceit that leads to other false statements about Mary; Mediatrix of all graces etc. The devil’s deceit is felt far and wide within the Church as is evidenced in the number of well meaning but deceived souls proclaiming Mary is Mediatrix of all graces. How would have such a statement sounded to the Apostles? This salvation we enjoy is from God in Christ; “The man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as ransom for all”. (1 Timothy 2:1, 3-6 NAB)… We should STOP THE DEVIL in his tracks and proclaim the vision of Fatima to be a fraud, a work of the devil and an abomination to God, Mary and to the Church. (Kennedy BJ, Bishop. The Fatima Affair. HOLY TRINITY CELTIC ORTHODOX CHURCH / MONASTERY. Toledo, Ohio. http:// www.celticorthodoxchurch.com/fatima.html viewed 05/17/12 )

In the 21st century, various Catholics hope that Marian apparitions, etc. will be factors that will lead to ecumenical unity, sometimes preceded by what is called ‘inter-religious dialogue’:

“Mother Mary is revered with great devotion by the Indian community as a mother and a spiritual figure of maternal protection,” said Friar Jayaseellan Pitchaimuthu OFM, head of the Indian Chaplaincy in Holy Land. She is acknowledged as the “protector and patroness” of the Indian Chaplaincy in Holy Land because she is a “model” for the migrants, he told CNA.

The friar explained that the Marian feast day is particularly important in the Indian context because of its relation to other faiths.

Members of other religions, including Hindus and Muslims, “regard Marian devotions in esteem,” he said. Thousands of devotees “both Catholics and non-Catholics” flock every week to the Marian apparition site at Velankanni, near Chennai in South India, and other shines that have recorded various miracles, he said. In this way, the friar explained, “Marian devotion also leads to a platform for inter-religious dialogue.” (Gonzales AA. Indian migrants in Holy Land prepare for Marian feast. (http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/indian-migrants-in-holy-land-prepare-for-marian-feast)

This is dangerous!  And the current pontiff, along with key supporters, is repeatedly engaging in this dialogue.

The Apostle Paul warned that even someone appeared as an angel from heaven, if that representative tried to change the gospel, he/she should not be listened to, but should be cursed:

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema. (Galatians 1:8, Douay-Rheims)

Many Marian apparitions have preached a gospel different than what the Apostle Paul and other real Christians taught, and putting Mary as one to turn to for salvation is also a false gospel (more on the gospel can be found in the article What is the Gospel?).

The reality is that it is likely that false apparitions, claiming to be “Mary” may be among the signs and lying wonders that the Bible warns are coming (2 Thessalonians 2:7-12).  For even more information on Mary and Catholic teachings on the rise of an anti-pope/Anti-Christ, please check out the book Fatima Shock!

Despite the fact that Jesus’ mother Mary has not been appearing in places that supporters of the Church of Rome often believe, it is likely that if apparitions become more public, that this will drive not only the Jews and Muslims to Rome, but also the Protestants and Eastern Orthodox into Rome’s embrace.

Such support of end time Babylon is warned against in Bible prophecy (Revelation 18:1-4).  While the Bible does tell of a coming time of unity, this time is AFTER Jesus returns, not before as the ecumenicalists advocate–check out Zechariah 2:10-11.

Some Doctrines of Antichrist Are there any doctrines taught outside the Churches of God which can be considered as doctrines of antichrist? This article suggests at least three.
