Europe ‘Declares War’ on ‘Anglo-Saxon’ Credit Rating Agencies

According to The Telegraph, Europe has finally got fed up enough with “Anglo-Saxon” credit rating agencies to “declare war” on them:

A chorus of policy-makers from Europe and across the world have denounced Moody’s drastic downgrade of Portuguese debt as an act of financial vandalism, accusing the “Anglo-Saxon” rating agencies of driving states into bankruptcy and destabilising the global system.

Portuguese and European officials condemned the ratings agencies for intensifying the euro crisis, suggesting they were overreacting after they were admonished for moving too slowly to warn of problems in the United States

German Chancellor Angela Merkel responded to the Standard & Poor’s statement by Moody’s announcement…On Wednesday, her finance minister described the “big three” credit rating agencies as an oligopoly that needed to be broken.

The reality is that it does seem strange that distressed USA states have higher credit ratings than some European nations as certain USA states are statistically in worse financial shape than the European states.

I suspect part of the reason for the credit rating disparity is that while few think that the USA can actually break apart (despite the fact that the Bible teaches that its lands will be divided, cf. Daniel 11:39), many believe that the European Union does not have proper unity and will break up. Whether or not the EU itself will exist in the future can be speculated (the Bible points to a reorganization in Revelation 17:12-13), yet the Bible is clear that the final European Beast power will not be highly unified as it will basically be a combination of strong and weak, or as the Bible more literally states, iron and clay:

41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. (Daniel 2:41-43)

According to Bible prophecy, a European power, despite its fragility, is destined to temporarily be the most dominant force in the world, and ultimately declare real war on the Anglo-descended nations. This is something that I doubt the US credit rating systems accept.

The European King of the North will arise. This “credit rating war” is another sign that it intends to take more control over its economic future, while minimizing the influence of the Anglo-based economic system. The economic influence of the coming Beast power is indicated by several passages in the Bible such as the following:

15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Revelation 13:15-17)

12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things…became rich by her (Revelation 18:12-15)

But such great wealth and power will not last:

16 Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’ (Revelation 18:16-18)

44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. 45 Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold — the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure. (Daniel 2:44-45)

Europe is destined to temporarily make many of the merchants of the world quite wealthy. The Bible shows that the final Beast power will be fragile and will hold together until God has it destroyed.

But before it is destroyed, the final Beast power must come together and get to the place where it has major economic influence. Europe is getting frustrated with an economic system dominated by Anglo-Saxon powers (including credit rating systems). Europe has been taking steps to stand up against the old world financial order, which to a great degree has been dominated by the United Kingdom and then the United States for well over a century. Europe’s current complaints are more than simple nagging, Europe intends to take steps to insure that it will be more powerful in the economic order that will dominate after the Anglo-powers are removed from the top.

While certain prophetic signs seem to be tarrying, others are lining up with Bible prophecy.
