A group of 11 European Union countries has joined forces to demand an end to the “obstructive” vetoes that have paralysed the bloc’s external action in recent years, arguing that the principle of sincere cooperation must take precedence.

“The Union’s culture of consensus is an important source of its legitimacy. Therefore, we continue to strive for consensus wherever possible,” the countries say in a letter addressed to High Representative Kaja Kallas and seen by Euronews.

“But we must also ensure that this culture of consensus fosters common action rather than preventing it – otherwise we will have legitimacy but no strength.”

Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain and Sweden signed the letter. Germany, the largest member state, has been leading calls to reform the bloc’s foreign policy.

“The Union’s external action faces a fundamentally changed landscape, shaped by strategic competition, growing instability and attempts to undermine the rules-based international order,” they write in the document, also sent to those member states who did not sign.

“In this environment, the Union’s ability to defend its values and interests hinges on whether it can mobilise its collective political, economic and diplomatic weight quickly and effectively.”

Under EU rules, foreign policy is strictly governed by unanimity, which means one single country can, at any time, tie the hands of the other 26 member states. …

Proponents say it would speed up decision-making and avoid unnecessary vetoes, while opponents say it would undermine democratic legitimacy. It is interesting that this was released after the Iceland vote. Iceland voted Sunday to not pursue EU membership, and concerns about Iceland’s ability to stop the EU from implementing policies it did not want was a major factor. And the letter demanding the end of ‘obstructive’ vetoes shows that Iceland likely would have less ability to influence the EU once a member.

As though a continent of radically different historical experiences, economic structures, demographic trajectories, and security realities could be pressed into one standardized form without damage. …

Europe should no longer be conceived as a project of uniformity but as a system of differentiated political spaces. This is not a regression into petty-state fragmentation. It is the overdue recognition of European reality. The continent has always been most productive when it combined diversity with form—when its political units stayed manageable, legitimate, and capable of acting, and broader cooperation happened only where it genuinely made sense. It grew weak whenever it manufactured institutions that produced neither real sovereignty nor genuine belonging.

A new Europe would therefore begin with a ruthless disentangling. …

What follows from all this is a single European principle: cooperation without fusion. Proximity without centralism. Continentality without empire. Europe would no longer be a union of ideological conformity but a confederation of historic peoples and political spaces—able to breathe again because not everything would have to be forced to the same institutional, economic, and moral temperature. In place of harmonization at any price: the freedom to shape one’s own order. In place of integration as an end in itself: cooperation grounded in shared interests. In place of a normative superstate: a Europe of different speeds, forms, and focal points.

And that, precisely, is the only road to genuine European sovereignty. Europe will not become sovereign because Brussels accumulates more powers. It will become sovereign only when its states and peoples recover real political substance and form alliances on that basis. …

The time of the Union as we know it is running out. The only question is whether Europe will shape this transition itself—or whether it will be torn apart by the contradictions of its own artificial construction and have its place in the world decided by others.

The alternative is clearer than many care to admit:

Yes, the EU needs to change.

And actually, in certain ways, it is.

It is making more trade deals, which are consistent with its prophesied role to dominate world trade for a time (cf. Revelation 17 and 18).

Several polls show a large lead for the anti-migration Alternative for Germany, or AfD, ahead of the election to the state legislature in Saxony-Anhalt. Marine Le Pen is a member of France’s National Rally party — Rassemblement National (RN). Which, like the nationalist AfD, is also an anti-immigrant party.

Europe is prophesied to reorganize, but not the way that the June 2026 ZeroHedge article points to as “the only road.”

The article overlooked biblical prophecies which show what will happen to Europe as well as part of how, and put into power a dictator.

The Bible shows that the time will come when Europe will reorganize and turn power over to a dictator called the beast below:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)

And we see that this Beast will arise with support of ten who will have been given power in a reorganization. These ten kings have no kingdom, but are to attain one. Thus, this is not discussing ten currently existing nations–this is a type of reorganization in verse 12. And basically a type of major or great reset (see also Is a Great Reset Coming?). Since those kings give their power to the Beast in verse 13, this is a second reorganization. The Beast is the one who was the prince of Daniel 9:26 (see also The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27). He is also the seventh king of Revelation 17:10, and becomes so with the fulfillment of Revelation 17:13. As far as the identity of the sixth king of Revelation 17:10, check out the article: The European Union and the Seven Kings of Revelation 17.

Also the biblical fact that these ‘kings’ had no kingdom prior to becoming kings also helps prove that this is not a reference to ten currently existing nations. Furthermore, the term translated in English as “kingdoms” from the Greek in Revelation 17:12, basileín (Greek characters βασιλεíαν), means “royal administrations” (Ibid, pp. 168-169) is not specifically referring to existing nations.

Thus, groups like PCG and LCG, which have tended to assert 10 or 11 currently existing nations are wrong.

An Eastern Orthodox writer seems to agree that it is not ten currently nations as he wrote:

Therefore  perhaps  we  should see in the ten kingdoms ten provinces of the future world government, “the New World Order”, which is to be ruled by the Antichrist. (Moss V. APOCALYPSE -THE BOOK OF THE END. 2018, p. 172)

In the Book of Revelation, let’s look at the following verses which precede the reorganization:

8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. 10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. 11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.  (Revelation 17:8-11)

The Bible is clear that there are seven kings/kingdoms, plus a related eighth, which were prophesied.

The sixth is not Vladimir Putin like David Pack of RCG once asserted.

The sixth does not seem to be Benito Mussolini as Herbert W. Armstrong and many Laodicean COGs still assert. Why? Well, for several reasons, including that Adolf Hitler was more in charge of Europe than Mussolini ever was and the period of time is too distant from now.

Either the first five kings were ancient, with Rome being the sixth–though that seems to be in conflict with scripture, or the first five have to do with the church-state alliance known as the Holy Roman Empire (even when not called that).

If they are related to the old Holy Roman Empire, it would seem in the 21st century, that the one that “is” which would be the sixth king, which also “is not,” could very well point to the European Union.

People of the 21st century would better relate with the EU being the one that “is” as opposed to Benito Mussolini of 80+ years ago.

The EU is not, however, the seventh king–but the EU is setting the stage for the coming reorganizations of Revelation 17:12-13.

The seventh king will rise up soon.

That religiously aligned leader, who will be supported by the final Antichrist, is prophesied to rise up in Europe.

He will be the Beast of the Sea.

He will be the seventh.

The ground work for his rise is being set by the European Union, whether or not it can be definitively considered as the sixth king–it certainly now is and looks to fit the prophecies in the Book of Revelation.

Which means that the end of this age is getting near.

Europe will, for a 42-month time, become a global, dictatorial power consistent with prophecies in the 13th, 17th, and 18th chapters of the Book of Revelation.
