EU Advances Controversial Digital Euro Project Amid Privacy and Power Grab Concerns

The European Union (EU) is advancing its contentious plan to create a digital euro, a centrally-controlled digital currency (CBDC), with an allocation of €1.3 billion towards its development. The European Central Bank (ECB), while not committing to a final rollout, has made a significant move forward, earlier than many expected, as indicated in its announcement. …
The ECB’s statement outlines that the funds will support various components of the digital euro project. These include prototyping the CBDC, app development, establishing offline payment schemes, and focusing on “risk and fraud management.” A substantial part of the funding, €662 million, is designated for the development of offline payment methods.
Supporters of the digital euro project see it as an enhancement to the EU’s financial infrastructure. However, opponents raise significant concerns about privacy and the growing influence of Big Tech in governmental financial projects. The European Central Bank (ECB) has issued five calls for applications to establish framework agreements with potential providers of digital euro components and related services.
At this stage the ECB is not making a commitment to launch any of the development work listed in the calls for applications. The purpose of the selection process is to establish framework agreements with the most suitable external providers to ensure that the Eurosystem is prepared to start developing a digital euro in the future if warranted. Biblically, a CBDC or other type of digital euro appears to be a step towards ‘666’ control.

CBDC stands for “Central Bank Digital Currency.” PR consultants and journalists prefer to use the term “digital euro,” which is easier to remember and sounds nicer, but the trivialization of the term does not change the fact that behind all of this, total surveillance awaits.

In contrast, the blockchain on which the digital euro is based is not public and is managed centrally. All transactions go through the European Central Bank (ECB) network, which means there is no transparency whatsoever. Already, no one really knows how many euros are in circulation because they can be printed at will by the ECB. …
In the future, each of us will have a personally assigned account with the central bank. Every transaction can be tracked by the central bank and its associated authorities. The authorities can and will collect information about anyone who sends money to your wallet, who you send money to, how much money you spend, when you spend it, where you spend it, and on what. The authorities will know how often you go to the hairdresser, whether you have a subscription to the gym, whether you like to eat bananas, and how much money you spend on cat food.
I don’t think the leaders of the EU and the ECB will introduce the digital euro next year simply to use it to turn Europe into a dystopian nightmare the following year. Biblically, it is certain that massive state control over buying and selling will come to Europe (cf. Revelation 13:16-18)– as I have written for many years, some type of electronic currency will be involved. Other prophecies also point to persecution and censorship.
Notice some of what was in item 13 of my list of 24 items to prophetically watch in 2024:
13. CBDCs and 666
Notice the following prophecy:
16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:16-18)
This type of financial surveillance could not have happened during the time of the Apostle John as there was no real way to monitor many financial transactions then (despite the fact that ‘preterists’ believe this was fulfilled almost 2000 years ago, see also The Dangerous Rise of Preterists). The same was true for all the centuries that followed until the late 20th and now the 21st century. But now not only does the technology exist to monitor most financial transactions, the political will is there as well.
It will be a European power that will fulfill the above prophecy of 666 (watch Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?).
It will likely take supercomputers aided with artificial intelligence to aid in the fulfillment of the scriptures in Revelation 13:15-18, as well as cyber-spying/monitoring. I do believe that cyber monitoring will be used by the European Beast, King of the North, 666 power. ..
Knowledge and monitoring of financial transactions is greatly increasing.
Europe has claimed that it will be the dominant force in cryptocurrency.
The Europeans will push for a CBDC. …
While 2024 will not see a cashless world, expect to see more movements towards monitorable payments.
Expect to see more steps related to Central Bank Digital Currencies in 2024.
Look for more totalitarian steps to be proposed and/or implemented in 2024.

Setting the standards will also lead to more controls and, ultimately, contribute to the actual apocalypse.
Although various ones in the EU are warning against various controls and claiming to push for rights and privacy, the biblical reality is that Europe will become totalitarian itself (Revelation 13; see also EU summits to push for ‘European industry strategy’ and ‘proper’ thinking and EU proposes billions for ‘Digital Europe’ surveillance: This would assist 666).
Europe wants to dominate big tech itself. It is working on many ways to bypass the USA (e.g. Der Spiegel says Europe needs to employ ‘clever resistance’ as it works towards a post-USA world) as well as BRICS.
Plus, it has already taken various steps in order to do so.

The European Union is in the process of establishing the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. This is a major, first-of-its-kind move, with the EU setting up a European-wide prosecutor’s office that will have power to investigate and charge people for financial crimes committed against the EU. It looks like this type of office may end up persecuting those that do not have the mark of the Beast when they “buy or sell” as that will later be considered a financial crime in Europe. What does 666 mean? How has that name been calculated? How can we be certain that this is a prophecy for Europe and not Islam?
