As a European I have to agree with you. I like the idea of a united Europe, but the EU as an institution is beyond saving. It has become deeply corrupted.

European leaders, overall, have been negative to the USA’s National Security Strategy report. The fact is that Donald Trump believes that the EU has little choice as it does not have the military ability to defend itself, so he believes he can bully the EU. The European leaders are aware of their limited defense capabilities, but now are more and more committed to reorganize spending to gain more military strength as well as independence from the USA.

U.S. President Donald Trump is not the biggest fan of the region, the president’s latest tirade against the continent’s leadership will sting — particularly as the bloc strives to show more decisiveness and authority.
Trump has once again provoked outrage among his European allies, describing them as “weak” and leading a “decaying” region in an interview with Politico published Tuesday. Criticizing the region’s response to immigration and the war in Ukraine, Trump said: “I think they don’t know what to do.”
That comment will be jarring for Europe after its efforts in recent days, weeks and months to support Ukraine, be it militarily, diplomatically or financially — efforts which Trump has frequently downplayed.
Instead, Europe has had to watch on as U.S. officials have held talks with their Russian and Ukrainian counterparts on a draft peace plan for Ukraine, without a seat at the table. That’s despite the fact that the resolution of the almost four-year war — and what shape that takes — is seen by analysts, and European leaders, as critical for the region’s future security. …
Belittling his political foes is nothing new for Trump, but what’s shocking for Europe is that he appears willing to relinquish longstanding friends and tested alliances that have been in place since World War II.
Europe was already put on notice last week when Trump’s new national security strategy stated that Europe risked “civilizational erasure” within the next 20 years and questioned whether European countries can “remain reliable allies.” …
“Trump’s worldview is clear” in the new U.S. national security document, Ian Bremmer, founder and president of Eurasia Group, commented Tuesday:
“A strong united Europe is a threat, not an asset. The Kremlin calls the document “aligned” with Russian interests. That should make every NATO capital sit up straight,” he said in comments on social media platform X. …
“President Trump believes a strong Europe is not in the U.S.′ interests, particularly a strong, coordinated Europe. Europeans are enduring insults, but also considering how to make themselves strong, or at least their leadership stronger. The fact is that Europe will become a bigger threat to the USA than Donald Trump thinks, and part of the reason for that is that Donald Trump is pushing allies to become enemies (which is consistent with Lamentations 1:1-2).

Pope Leo XIV said President Donald Trump’s plan to end Russia’s war against Ukraine threatens to break apart the alliance between Europe and the United States.
Asked by reporters Dec. 9 to comment on the initiative’s fairness, the pope said, “I would rather not comment on that. I haven’t read the whole thing. Unfortunately, some parts I have seen make a huge change in what was for many years a true alliance between the EU and U.S.”

There will be a stronger alliance between the Vatican and Europe, but that will also end after the start of the Great Tribulation consistent with Revelation 17:15-18.
That said, the tweet at the beginning of this post is from a European who sees the need for Europe to reorganize–and that is something that will happen. The USA’s National Security Strategy report warned of “civilizational erasure” in Europe. Yet, even the head of the European Central Bank (ECB) sees that Europe is facing elimination:

ECB President Christine Lagarde urged the European Commission to dismantle internal trade barriers, warning they stifle competitiveness.
European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde has issued a stark warning over the European Union’s competitiveness, calling on the European Commission to urgently dismantle internal barriers that are stifling innovation, productivity, and investment across the bloc.
In a keynote interview with Financial Times chief economics commentator Martin Wolf on Wednesday, Lagarde said the eurozone economy had shown resilience in the face of geopolitical and economic shocks. Yet, she stressed that deeper structural reform was necessary to unlock its full potential, adding that monetary policy alone cannot achieve this goal.
“We are quite close to potential, but there’s a lot to be done in terms of improving productivity in the euro area,” Lagarde said.
Lagarde pointed to what she described as “self-inflicted tariffs” that continue to constrain the movement of goods and services within the EU.
According to ECB estimates, internal trade barriers amount to an effective tariff of 110% on services and 60% on goods traded between member states, a level she deemed “staggering”. …
Lagarde said that Europe remained in an “existential crisis”, but also faced a historic opportunity.

The biblical reality is that Europe will reorganize.
In addition to many seeing it has a problem with migrants and Muslims, many are seeing bureaucratic matters hindering Europe’s growth.
A strong totalitarian leader will arise and gain power in a two-part reorganization as the following shows:
12 The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)
Revelation 13 points out that the European Beast power will be considered as a successful military power shortly after this reorganization.

- Europe will reorganize into ten “kingdoms” (not necessarily nations as some have improperly insisted upon) and then give power to the Beast per Revelation 17:12-13.
- The King of the North (who was a ‘prince’ in Daniel 9:27) who has arisen and a King of the South (Daniel 11:27) will make a lying deal (Daniel 11:27). Europe will get a “great army” (Daniel 11:25). We are seeing the foundations for this now with calls for European and Islamic unity and militaries.
- A naval encounter between the King of the North and the Anglo-Americans (could just be the Americans) will take place (Daniel 11:30)–this might mark the start of media attention and the short-work of Romans 9:28.
- Persecution, mainly directed towards Philadelphian Christians, will occur (Daniel 11:28-35; 7:25a; Revelation 12:13-16).
- The “gospel of the kingdom” of God will then have been preached enough to the world as a witness for the end to come as Jesus prophesied (Matthew 24:14)–steps related to this are in process. This seems to be related to the “short work” of Romans 9:28—and preparations for this are also occurring in the Continuing Church of God.
- Jewish sacrifices will be stopped (Daniel 9:27, 11:31).
- The abomination of desolation will then be set up (Matthew 24:15; Mark 13:14) because of actions of the King of the North (Daniel 9:27; 11:31). The most faithful expect to continue to tell what is happening until they are somehow stopped (cf. Amos 8:11-12).
- A decree is to be issued (Zephaniah 2:1-3), perhaps by one of the two witnesses. Then the most faithful Philadelphians will ‘fly’ to the wilderness (Revelation 12:14-16) and those in Judea will flee per Jesus’ statements in Matthew 24:15-19 and Mark 13:15-18. Prior to the start of the Great Tribulation, the two witnesses will support the work and near its start, they will get power to do their job (Revelation 11:3).
- Bolstered by the Antichrist, the Great Tribulation will begin (Matthew 24:21-22; Mark 13:19-20; Daniel 11:39, 12:1b; cf. Habakkuk 2:7-8). This will eliminate the indebted USA and its Anglo-Saxon descended allies as nations (Daniel 11:39; Jeremiah 30:7; Habakkuk 2:7-8). …
The Bible shows that Europe will go through at least two reorganizations until it gets to the point of fully supporting the King of the North/Beast power per Revelation 17:12-13. And later, it will change to betray the Church of Rome (Revelation 17:9,15-18). …
This European Beast power will, after it has a prophesied reorganization and rises up, destroy the United States (Daniel 11:39). And the leader of this power is supposed to rise up “When the transgressors have reached their fullness,” (Daniel 8:23). …
While Donald Trump seems to believe that his policies are best for the United States, notice some unintended consequences of them: …
- Pushing tariffs and other policies that foreign nations do not like is contributing to other nations looking to bypass the USA dollar, as well as trade more with each other and less with the USA. This will further push various globalist’s moves forward without the USA. This is also helping set the stage for the coming European Babylonian Beast to dominate international trade.
- Although national repentance could delay the coming conquering (cf. Daniel 4:27) of the USA (Daniel 11:39), Donald Trump instead is focused more on economic matters. Since that repentance is not expected, a European will end up in charge (cf. Hosea 11:1a, 3a, 4b, 5b-7).
- Focusing on Bitcoin, instead of gold, will not provide the USA with the financial stability that it wants. Instead it looks to be another reason other nations will accumulate gold. Gold which will outlast the dollar of the USA.
- The Bible warns against condoning sexual immorality as deadly (Romans 1:18-32), and that is something that Donald Trump does not seem to realize.
- Pushing debt increasing policies will put the USA into a position where it will be conquered, consistent with Habakkuk 2:6-8. This will lead to the land of the USA being divided (cf. Daniel 11:39; Lamentations 4:16; Amos 7:17).
- Pushing against Europe’s unity is encouraging the Europeans, which are prophesied to have unity difficulties (cf. Daniel 2:41-43), to try harder to unify, which will happen after at least two reorganizations (Revelation 17:12-13).
- By breaking political norms and acting like a ‘strong man’ this will help Europeans being more accepting of their beast ‘strong man’ (Revelation 13:1-10; 17:13).
- Donald Trump’s statements will help promote the rise of stronger European leaders like Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg.
- Although, overall, the European nations have not paid for their defense to the amount they have suggested they would, pressuring them to spend more will 1) encourage them to be independent of the USA and 2) put Europe in a position where it has a great army (Daniel 11:25), many ships (Daniel 11:40), and access to nuclear weapons (cf. Deuteronomy 29:23-25; Isaiah 9:19-21;Ezekiel 6:6), which will help it conquer the USA, which is the military power with the strongest fortresses (cf. Daniel 11:39).
The world will marvel and follow the Beast (Revelation 13:3b), those who understand biblical prophecies are already aware that this will happen.
Yet, as verse Revelation 13:5 mentions, that power will not last very long–about 3 1/2 years.
