Palestinian officials say Israeli airstrikes have killed two people in a wave of attacks that also included bombing two high-rise buildings.

One airstrike early Tuesday destroyed much of a 15-story office and apartment tower in Gaza City, wounding at least 20 people.

Israel had warned people to leave the area — a tactic the military has used repeatedly before attacking sites where it says militants have been operating.

An Israeli military spokesman reported more rockets being fired at Israel, including one intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome defense system over Tel Aviv.

A senior White House official says President Barack Obama has authorized surveillance flights over Syria.

The official said late Monday that Obama has not approved any military action, but that the U.S. is preparing military options for combating the Islamic State fighters who have taken over large areas in eastern Syria and northern and western Iraq.

U.S. planes have been carrying out airstrikes in Iraq, helping Iraqi and Kurdish forces take back territory from the militants, including a dam in Mosul that is key to providing power to many in Iraq.

Pentagon officials have expressed the need to go after the Islamic State group on both sides of the border.

The operation is complicated by the ongoing civil war in Syria. White House officials say Obama does not want U.S. action to be seen as aiding Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who has repeatedly blamed “terrorists” for the conflict that has raged in his country for more than three years. http://www.voanews.com/content/us-official-obama-approves-surveillance-flights-over-syria/2428135.html

A car bomb has exploded in a mainly Shi’ite neighborhood in Iraq’s capital, killing at least 10 people and wounding 31 others.

The blast Tuesday hit the New Baghdad area during the morning rush hour.

The attack comes a day after a series of blasts in Iraq killed at least 20 people, including 11 at a Shi’ite mosque in the same neighborhood as Tuesday’s bombing.

Iraq has been struggling to cope with a surge in violence this year that has left more than 10,000 people dead, while militants from the Islamic State group have taken control of wide areas in the northern and western part of the country.

Is the solution to conflict the Egyptian proposed cease-fire? No.

Is the solution bombing ISIS? No.

Is the solution flying surveillance over Syria? No.

Is the solution the new Iraqi government? No.

There are also problems in Libya and elsewhere that violence will not resolve.

Are you ready for the peace we all long for in the Middle East?

The Third Temple in Jerusalem will be the House of Prayer for all nations. Every prophet of Israel, without exception, prophesied that the Temple would be rebuilt, ushering a new era of universal harmony and peace. The “movement” to rebuild the Holy Temple was born almost 2,000 years ago, at the moment of the Second Temple’s Destruction.

After millennia of yearning, only one organization is paving the way for the rebuilding of the Temple. The Temple Institute, located in the Old City of Jerusalem, is a research organization dedicated to the preparing for the construction of the Third Temple, including the recreation of 60 sacred Temple vessels ready for use once the Temple is rebuilt. These include the High Priest’s breastplate featuring the twelve precious stones of the tribes of Israel, the half-ton golden menorah, and the musical instrument of the Levitical choir.

Now is time for one of its most ambitious projects yet: completing architectural plans for the actual construction, fusing ancient texts and modern technology. While strictly adhering to the religious requirements set forth in Biblical texts, the Third Temple will also be equipped with every modern amenity: full computerization, underground parking, temperature control, elevators, docks for public transportation, wheelchair access, and much more.

The ‘third temple’ that the Bible tells of does not get built until after Jesus returns. This does not mean that the Jews cannot possibly build another one prior to that, but it will NOT lead to peace in the Middle East.

Short of worldwide repentance, the ONLY WAY to bring peace to the Middle East and the rest of the world is the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God.

Although the Bible tells of a multi-year peace deal coming to the Middle East (Daniel 9:27), it will be broken 3 1/2 years after it is confirmed by a certain leader (Daniel 9:27; 11:31; see also The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27).

Interim steps by governments and leaders will have various affects, but they will not prevent the coming of the Great Tribulation and the destruction of nations such as the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand (see Will the Anglo-Saxon Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?).

Minutes before the Egyptian-brokered truce began at 1600 GMT, a rocket fired by Palestinian militants killed one person in an Israeli kibbutz, or collective farm, near the Gaza border, police said.

Palestinian and Egyptian officials said the deal calls for an indefinite halt to hostilities, the immediate opening of Gaza’s blockaded crossings with Israel and Egypt and a widening of the territory’s fishing zone in the Mediterranean. …

“Today we declare the victory of the resistance, today we declare the victory of Gaza,” Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said.

While cessation of violence should be a good thing, war is NOT over involving Israel and the Palestinians.
