North American governments analyzing ‘social accounts,’ ‘family values’ called extreme, and the march toward totalitarism

Normally, I try to avoid getting involved with second amendment issues in the USA. But the following is about more than that:

Gun applicants in NY will have to hand over social accounts

New York state is rolling out a novel strategy to screen applicants for gun permits. People seeking to carry concealed handguns will be required to hand over their social media accounts for a review of their “character and conduct.”

It’s an approach applauded by many Democrats and national gun control advocacy groups, but some experts have raised questions about how the law will be enforced and address free speech concerns.

Some of the local officials who will be tasked with reviewing the social media content also are asking whether they’ll have the resources and, in some cases, whether the law is even constitutional. …

The new requirement, which takes effect in September, was included in a law passed last week that sought to preserve some limits on firearms after the Supreme Court ruled that most people have a right to carry a handgun for personal protection. It was signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, who noted shooters sometimes telegraph their intent to hurt others. …

New York’s law is rushed and vague, said Wandt, who teaches law enforcement personnel how to conduct searches on people through social media.

This would not seem to be ‘constitutional.’ But the fact that a major government in the USA is doing this smacks of totalitarianism.

Most governments in the West have little idea what is proper character, yet, they want to judge it.

Rep. Mayra Flores, R-Texas, told Newsmax on Thursday that The New York Times incorrectly labeled her and other Hispanic Americans as ”far-right” in a recent news article because the paper is ”anti-God, anti-family values and anti-job opportunities.”

”They do not represent our values, and that’s the reason why they want to call me a far-right Latina,” the Texas congresswoman said during an interview on ”The Chris Salcedo Show.”

Flores added that Americans shouldn’t consider The New York Times a legitimate news organization after it gave favorable coverage to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., when she was first elected — but attacked her.

”They don’t know us. They have no idea who we are … they just do not represent our community, and I feel that. Nobody really cares about The New York Times, especially in my district, where we’re worried about healthcare. We’re worried about the cost of gas, the cost of food. That’s what we’re worried about,” Flores stated.

”We’re focused on the issues that really matter to the American people, and I refuse to give them any attention,” she continued. ”They claim that they’re for immigrants. I’m an immigrant. Yes, name calling and labeling is happening more and more. And yes, many in the government and media hate any who dare to support certain biblical concepts or have different political views. These are totalitarian moves.

Even objecting to young white children being taught to feel guilty for the color of their skin is ironically cast as “racist.” …

What started with Obamacare, socialized medicine and quickly expanded with Democrat cities’ experimentation with COVID-19 digital passports, is now set to go into overdrive with the introduction of central bank digital currencies.

If government-issued cyber-monies replace the relative anonymity of physical cash, then no purchase, donation, or investment can be free from the prying eyes of the State. Combined with government control over health care and the imposition of mandatory digital IDs, the State will have created the perfect surveillance system. Yes, the USA has been moving towards totalitarianism in many ways.

The founders of the USA claimed that rights were given by God. To attempt to insure them, they adopted the following first ten amendments to the Constitution on ratified December 15, 1791. They form what is known as the “Bill of Rights.” Here is what they stated as viewed today at https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/bill-of-rights-transcript:

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment VI

Amendment VII

In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

Amendment VIII

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Amendment IX

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The above is a concern to many people who believe that they will be discriminated against if they hold to various religious and/or biblical beliefs on sexuality. Claiming religious freedom is “a fundamental American value” (which is clearly stated in the U.S. Constitution) while at the same time saying it must be not allowed for certain matters is wrong, insincere, and hypocritical.

The Bible, KJV translation, predicts the end of “an hypocritical nation” (Isaiah 10:5-11). …

Kamala Harris … In her 2019 book, The Truths We Hold: An American Journey, she has the following statement:

There, my earliest memories of the Bible’s teachings were of a loving God, a God who asked us “to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves” and to defend the rights of the poor and needy.” [Harris K. The Truths We Hold: An American Journey. Penguin Press, 2019, p. 16]

Beyond that, there do not seem to be many truths Kamala Harris holds related to scripture. And for those of us who believe our religious rights are needy in the 21st century, she along with Joe Biden has essentially stated that we must expect that the rights of those with certain differing views on sexuality surpass our own. Hence, from the perspective of a religious minority, it does not seem she takes such defense seriously. …

Many have questioned Joe Biden’s and Kamala Harris’ morality. From their pro-abortion positions to their plan to globally promote the LGBTQ+ agenda while restricting religious rights of those who have differing standards, these would biblically be considered as noticeable moral flaws. …

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris both claim to be Christians, yet support restrictions on religious speech and actions, while specifically pushing for a sexual agenda that the Bible says ends in death and destruction (cf. Increasing debt and pushing immoral abominations will accelerate the demise of the USA.

The USA, as well as Canada, will fall:

15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination?
No! They were not at all ashamed;
Nor did they know how to blush.
Therefore they shall fall among those who fall;
At the time I punish them,
They shall be cast down,” says the Lord. (Jeremiah 6:15)

The USA and Canada will be punished and cast down.

The Bible also teaches:

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight! (Isaiah 5:20-21)

1 Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)

More and more people do not want to hear the truths related to the law of God or prophecies from His word.

Despite Joe Biden’s words about unifying the nation and having equality for all, he and Kamala Harris want the USA in their own image: Fiercely pro-abortion, radically pro-LGBTQ+, dangerously pro-alien, pushing racial discrimination, and anti-true freedom of religion.

But it is not just them. Much of the media and Big Tech have gone along with that, as has Canada’s Prime Minister, leading to what has been considered as ‘cancel culture.’

As bad as it is starting to get in the USA and Canada, it will later get much worse for the world.

The Bible warns that a totalitarian power will rise up (Revelation 13:1-18) and have the type of totalitarian control beyond what we have so far seen (cf. Revelation 13:15-18).

We are getting closer to that time.

Those who think that the USA will be in a position to stop it are believing a lie.

Do not place your confidence in any governments in this world, but in Jesus and the coming Kingdom of God.
