Did you know that in the late 80’s an American went to Italy and there met a religious hermit – the Hermit of Lereto as he is called – and that hermit told this man that God had revealed to him that God would raise up a man to lead America back to God and he had the name of that man. While many evangelical Protestants might find the above as likely prophetically true, I do not.
Consider, that “repent” means to “turn back.”
Donald Trump has never personally repented according to statements he has made.
So, I do not see how Donald Trump, a man who endorses much of the LGBTQ+ agenda, is one to lead the nation to God. While God can use anyone (remember Saul became Paul), Donald Trump has never displayed religious zeal that I have seen.
Furthermore, consider that Donald Trump did not turn the nation to God when he was president the first time.
Some Protestants and some Jews think that Donald Trump could be a modern version of ancient King Cyrus the Great (see CT: ‘Is Trump Our Cyrus?’). PCG’s Gerald Flurry wrongly believes that Donald Trump is a modern version of King Jeroboam (e.g., see Gerald Flurry again pushing wrong position on Donald Trump being a prophesied Jeroboam instead of realizing PCG is wrong).
The Book of Revelation warns against those who believe and love a lie (Revelation 22:15).
As far as the ‘Hermit of Lereto’ goes, his given name was Thomas Zimmer. He was a Roman Catholic American who moved to Italy. Here is some information about him:
Fr. Giacomo Capoverdi, recounts how he once met this holy man who living in Loreto. He says that some seventeen years earlier, a friend of his — an Italian American doctor named Claudio Curran — told him that he just had to get up to Loreto on his upcoming trip to Rome to speak with a holy man there by the name of Tom Zimmer.
He said this “hermit”, an American layperson, had left everything behind in the US to live in Loreto as a kind of penitent, or hermit. …
Fr. Mario told me I should speak with Fr. Giuseppe Santarelli, who has been in Loreto for decades and would surely know more. …
I told him that I was there to inquire about an American “penitent” who lived in Loreto back in the 1990s and prayed frequently in the Holy House.
Fr. Santarelli cut me off, “Ah sì, Thomas Zimmer si chiamava… certo che mi ricordo…” (“Ah yes, Thomas Zimmer was his name, of course I remember him…”). He went on to say that everyone in Loreto knew of him. …
I told him about the “premonition” Tom had made about Donald Trump and that a video of an American priest discussing it had just gone viral on the internet. Fr. Santarelli just smiled and added that he did not know anything about that, but that him making such a prophecy was perfectly in character.
Tom Zimmer had told him (the doctor) that he had received a “premonition” and that he (Tom) believed that a certain man would lead America back to God. And that man would be none other than Donald J. Trump.
“The millionaire playboy from New York?” asks the incredulous doctor. “Yes,” responds Tom. In fact, Zimmer was so convinced that Donald Trump would become a great spiritual leader of America that he wrote his name on a brick and had it placed in the reconstruction of St. Peter’s Holy Door after the Jubilee in order that Trump would receive blessings from the many Masses that would be said in the Vatican.
Fr. Capoverdi says that he wanted to get this message out after he saw Donald Trump’s wife begin a political rally in Florida …

Tom Zimmer was not a holy man nor a prophet of God.
That said, the reality is, if Donald Trump is re-elected, he could help bring about the end of the USA.

No, Donald Trump or voting in Republicans will not stop the decline of the USA. Nor will any of the Democrats running for office unless they were to repent.
The Bible warns:
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil (Isaiah 5:20).
I am NOT a voter nor a Democrat nor a MAGA (or any any other type of) Republican –I am a non-partisan Christian looking for the return of Jesus and the establishment of the Kingdom of God.
Consider that Jesus warned:
25 Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. (Matthew 12:25)
17 Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. (Luke 11:17)
The divide in the USA is growing as many of its sins (including hypocrisy) become more blatant.
That said, as posted here several times before, I consider that both Donald Trump and Joe Biden are evil.
Without going into unique specifics about either, let’s consider how they are both similar:
- Neither lives like a member of their professed faiths is supposed to try to live.
- Both support LGBTQ rights.
- Both have repeatedly supported increasing US debt.
- Both have publicly made numerous gaffes and misstatements.

- Both have called for unchecked empowerment of law-enforcement entities.
- Both have been accused of sexually harassing numerous women.
- Neither has called for national repentance.
- Neither has sought first the Kingdom of God.
- Both have been leaders in Administrations that have upset the Europeans.
- Both have been accused of corruption.
- Both have been accused of hypocrisy.
Now, I am not trying to say that there are no differences. Yes, I know they have differing economic and climate policies as well as different views on abortion and racial matters.
As far as being hypocritical goes, the Book of Job teaches:
13 … And the hope of the hypocrite shall perish, (Job 8:13)
The Bible prophecy warns that God will punish and destroy “an hypocritical nation” (Isaiah 10:6, KJV) in a prophecy related to the USA.
The Bible teaches:
1 Cry aloud, spare not;
Lift up your voice like a trumpet;
Tell My people their transgression,
And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)
These national sins include abortion, sexuality immorality, promoting pornography, false witness, violence, economic theft through debt and other means, hypocrisy, disdain for the God of the Bible, covetousness, and a host of others.

As far as political leaders go, the Apostle Paul wrote:
1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior (1 Timothy 2:1-3).
Notice that we are to pray for worldly leaders and those that have authority over us so that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life. Nothing like this is said for voting that many falsely claim is their “Christian” duty–prayer for leaders is.
The Bible teaches:
2 You shall not follow a crowd to do evil (Exodus 23:2)
No matter who you (or the majority of Americans) may think is better, the lesser of two evils is still evil.

The USA presidential campaign is in full swing. Though Democratic party candidate Joe Biden and Republican party candidate Donald Trump have differing economic and climate policies as well as different views on abortion and racial matters, there are many similarities both share. Do they have policies that they share that are leading to the destruction of the USA? What do Bible prophecies reveal about sexual immorality, debt, and hypocrisy? What are some of the national sins of the USA? Does the Bible endorse voting? What did Jesus teach related to what to seek and pray for? Supporting evil is not the solution for Christians.
Those who are truly part of the Philadelphia remnant will go forward to fulfill Jesus’ commissions in Matthew 24:14 and 28:19-20. They will also support the preparation for the short work of Romans 9:25-28 as well as work to reach the Jews and the full number of Gentiles as recorded in Romans 11:23-25.
We are also to pray for our spiritual leaders. Notice what Jesus taught:
2 The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest (Luke 10:2).
Notice what Paul taught:
25 Brethren, pray for us (1 Thessalonians 5:25).
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2).
We also are to pray:
14 The will of the Lord be done (Acts 21:14).
Similarly, Jesus taught:
7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:7-10).
And that, I believe, should be the type of prayer that Christians have about elections and politicians. Followers of the true God are also told to:
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and depart from evil (Proverbs 3:5-7).
The world is changing.
As far as the USA itself goes, the handwriting is on the wall for its coming end.
But, as I wrote before Joe Biden took office, the end will NOT come in the first term of a Biden-Harris Administration. I also wrote that about the first-term of the Trump Administration.
However, IF certain step happen in the next year or two (like the confirmation of the deal of Daniel 9:27), and:
- If as the School of Elijah taught, that God inspired Elijah to state that the world as we have known it would last 6,000 years, to be followed by a thousand year sabbatical time, which Jewish tradition (Talmud, Tractate Sanhedrin [97a]) and early Christian traditions records (e.g. Irenaeus, a hearer of Polycarp. Adversus haereses, Book V, Chapter 30:4), then we are getting close to the end of that time.
- And if, consistent with scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments, we can apply the concept that a thousand years is as a day to God (Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8).
- And if, as generally understood in the Church of God that Jesus was killed and resurrected no later than the Spring of 31 A.D. on Passover (though it may have been in 33 A.D.–so one would have to add two years).
- And if we can presume that the “last days” of a 7,000 year prophetic week began AFTER the middle day (day 4), then the last days prior to the “sabbatical” time, which some would refer to as the millennial Kingdom of God would last two thousand years.
- And if when Peter referred to being in the last days (Acts 2:17-18) and since Hebrews 1:1-12 teaches that “God … has in these last days spoken to us by His Son.”
- Then adding 2,000 years to a period of time leads to the end of the 6,000 years no later than 2031 (and it could be earlier than that).
- Since the Great Tribulation is expected to start 3 1/2 years prior to that (cf. Revelation 12:14; 13:5) subtracting 3 1/2 years from the Spring of 2031 would be late in 2027 (or 2029, if Jesus’ final Passover was in 33 A.D.).
- Understand that the U.S.A. is prophesied to be taken over near the rise of the Beast and start of the Great Tribulation (cf. Daniel 11:39; Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:21-22).
- This is also consistent with certain Roman Catholic and Hindu prophetic writings as well.
It looks like from certain Jewish, biblical, Christian, and Roman Catholic perspectives (and yes others associated with those faiths have other opinions), that the end of the U.S.A. may well happen before 2028.

Are there prophetic reasons to believe that the USA will not last two complete presidential terms? Yes. There is a tradition attributed to the Hebrew prophet Elijah that humanity had 6,000 years to live before being replaced by God’s Kingdom. There are scriptures, writings in the Talmud, early Christian teachings that support this. Also, even certain Hindu writings support it.

Repentance could delay the disaster coming to the USA (cf. Daniel 4:27)–but that is not expected.
Donald Trump, despite the view of the ‘Hermit of Lereto,’ has not been discussing anything that sounds like real national repentance.
Without national repentance, the end is coming very soon no matter what party wins the USA 2024 presidential election.
Destruction is coming to the USA–as well as its British-descended allies (UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand)–and it will be worse than most people will believe.
