Russia Stops Attacks

MOSCOW (Aug. 12) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ordered a halt to military action in Georgia on Tuesday, after five days of air and land attacks that took Russian forces deep into its small U.S.-allied neighbor in the Caucasus.

Medvedev said on national television that the military had punished Georgia enough for its attack on South Ossetia. Dollar gains as eurozone growth seen ebbing

NEW YORK – The dollar gained further ground against the euro and other currencies Monday as fears continued to circulate that eurozone economic growth is slowing.

Traders said that renewed fighting between Georgian and Russian troops in Georgia had also unsettled euro sentiment.

The single European currency was quoted at 1.4898 dollars around 2100 GMT, down from 1.5013 late Friday, and marking its lowest depths against the dollar since late February.

As I have long been reporting, there will be ups and downs with the US dollar, but its long-term trend is down. The 6,000 plan for humankind is almost up and the Great Tribulation will most likely begin next decade with the destruction of the US and its Anglo allies.
