David Pack of the Restored Church of God says it is impossible for the Kingdom to not come on December 19, 2025; COGwriter says that date is NOT possible.

COGwriter

Over the years, this COGwriter Church of God News page has denounced predictions and dates associated with many.

Outside the Church of God, in the Protestant world, this has included denouncing people like the late Harold Camping (see Harold Camping’s Teachings About the End of the World Do Not Agree with the Bible), Jonathan Kahn (e.g. The Great Tribulation: Is 2022 possible? What about 2023?), and Mark Biltz (e.g. Aphosis ‘Darkness’ Asteroid coming–Wormwood or is Mark Biltz wrong again?). I have also often denounced false predictions from Jewish rabbis (e.g. see Rabbi Yekutiel Fish: Next year will be the final Jubilee, year of Messiah’s arrival).

Related to those who CLAIM to be in the Church of God, I have specifically denounced several for false dates and predictions including Ronald Weinland (see CGPKG: Concerns About Ronald Weinland’s Church of God-Preparing for the Kingdom of God), the late James Malm (see Shining Light: Error-Ridden James Malm Not Doing an Elijah Work), the late William Dankenbring (see TPM: Teachings of Triumph Prophetic Ministries), Gerald Flurry (see PCG: Teachings Unique to the Philadelphia Church of God), and David Pack (see RCG: Why Not the Restored Church of God?) among others.

David Pack, of the Restored Church of God, seems to relish in setting dates and then changing them.

Now, supposedly he will not change his latest date, which is supposed to be December 19, 2025 for the Kingdom of God to arrive.

Former RCG employee Marc Cebrian posted the following after watching a couple of videos this month from David Pack:

Displaying inexplicable confidence during Part 602 on October 18, Dave admitted he was “all in” on the new date for the arrival of the Kingdom, which is now finally, definitely, and certainly at the moment of sunset in Jerusalem on Friday, December 19, 2025, which begins Kislev 30. … here are some doozy quotes that will surely not age well in the lead-up to December 19, 2025.

  • “The only way I could be dissuaded…is if God or Gabriel spoke from heaven with an oracle to tell me otherwise.”
  • “It’s the inevitable day we would learn which day can delay no further and be sure that we have it right.”
  • “It’s impossible, it’s impossible, impossible, impossible that we’re wrong.”
  • “This is the day I and we have waited for.”
  • “… there’s no way it’s wrong this time. [chuckles] No way.”
  • “I’m gonna prove absolutely, unequivocally, it has to be this year.”
  • “It’s as unbreakable as a diamond… If anyone doubts Kislev 30 and December 19th, rouse yourself.”
  • “…or God ended the book of Daniel teasing us.”
  • “I couldn’t possibly ever offer another date in their place. Could never be done. I’m absolutely all in on this date. Period. Our official position is that if all of that can be wrong, we can never know when either Kingdom arrives.”
  • “Only an oracle from God or Gabriel or Christ could change my mind.”

It will take something far less than this to change his mind, such as a sneaking suspicion or when Dave is mildly uncomfortable.

Some of these quotes should sound familiar because David C. Pack has been repeating them since 2013. The brethren of The Restored Church of God should know better, but they willfully choose blindness because facing the truth about the human idol they worship is too horrific to face.

Pastor General David C. Pack is a blaspheming, hypocritical liar, a false teacher, a false apostle, and a false prophet.

I watched parts of the videos myself–and heard most, if not all of the quotes Marc Cebrian typed out. Here are some that I will add that Marc did not type out that I heard David Pack state:

“I am absolutely all in on this date …only an oracle from God, Gabriel, or Christ could change my mind. It’s impossible, impossible, impossible, that we are wrong.”

David Pack IS TOTALLY AND ABSOLUTELY WRONG! THE KINGDOM OF GOD WILL NOT BE ESTABLISHED IN 2025! I have long believed that he is among those that Peter warned about in the following:

1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. (2 Peter 2:1-3)

12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, 13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, 14 having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. (2 Peter 2:12-14)

18 For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. (2 Peter 2:18-19)

While I wish David Pack no ill, I pray he and those with him will open their eyes and see the truth.

Now sadly, because of false prophets, most in the Church of God do not believe that God has any prophets in the 21st century.

That is a dangerous and, at best, Laodicean, position to hold as prophets were to exist in the last days per Acts 2:17-18.

The Apostle Peter declared:

17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.  (Acts 2:17-18)

This is a prophecy, according to the Bible, for the last days. Norman Edwards, who once worked for the old WCG and was once on the board of the old GCG wrote the following:

There are over 40 separate passages about prophets and their prophecies in the New Testament—so many that one might easily get tired of reading them! We have left out verses about the Old Testament prophets and New Testament false prophets to keep the list shorter. If we want God to show us what will happen in the future, we need to “desire earnestly to prophesy” (1Cor 14:39). It is a New Testament teaching we must not ignore!

John 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

Eph 2:19-20 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,

Eph 3:3-5 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:

Eph 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

1Th 5:19-21 Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good.

1Tim 1:18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,

1Tim 4:14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

2Tim 3:1-2, 5 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be… lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Do people today have faith that God is able to prophecy through people in their congregations?

1Jo 4:1-2 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,

Note: If there were no true prophets, there would be no need to “test the spirits”—because every prophet would be a “false prophet”. But because there are both true prophets and false prophets, we need to “test the spirits”. (Edwards N. Need Prophets More than Prophecy. Shepherd’s Voice, Fall 2013)

While that is true, non-Christians and Laodiceans do not take the warnings and prophecies seriously enough. But they should repent according to Jesus (cf. Revelation 3:14-22). See also, Does the CCOG have the confirmed signs of Acts 2:17-18?

Now, when can the Kingdom of God come?

Well, it does not come until Jesus returns.

That cannot be in 2025.

Why?

Because several of the signs Jesus said need to occur have not yet occurred.

Notice the following:

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. (Matthew 24:3-5)

Probably just like you, the disciples wanted to know. But also notice that Jesus said to be careful about being deceived, including by people who teach that Jesus is the Christ.

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (Matthew 24:4-16)

We have NOT seen “the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” and the Great Tribulation does not happen until after that.

Furthermore, Jesus, continuing, stated:

21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24:21-22)

Jesus then pointed to signs in the heavens that are AFTER the tribulation and then stated He would return:

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:29-31)

That said, there is no possibility that the Great Tribulation can happen in 2025 or that Jesus will return this year. Now, I realize that David Pack has other reasoning about much of this–but he is wrong and will be shown to be wrong again.

It is only those who overlook scripture and rely on their own views and/or false traditions who make the mistake of thinking that Jesus can return in 2025.

Do not let the existence of false prophets dissuade you from looking into the fact that the Bible says that there would be true ones in the last days.

Remember, also, as Jesus taught, to pray for His kingdom of come (Matthew 6:10).
