ECB to Solve EU’s ‘Sovereign Turmoil’?

In a move to “stabilize” the situation in the Eurozone, the European Central Bank (ECB) is taking on debt:

Frankfurt: The European Central Bank has broken new ground in the Eurozone crisis with hints that it could start unlimited buying of stricken member states’ bonds to drive down their crippling borrowing costs…

“They have done and continue to do whatever they can within fairly strict limits imposed on them,” said Gilles Moec of Deutsche Bank said…In an upbeat assessment, Moec said that the ECB had “changed the way the current sovereign turmoil should be seen … Draghi in our view is on his way to deliver on his promises from last week.”  http://gulfnews.com/business/economy/ecb-looks-ready-to-break-ground-1.1058081

So, more control from the European Central Bank will help solve the “sovereign turmoil” in Europe?  All the nations in the EU basically agreed to give up sovereignty when the last of them accepted the Lisbon Treaty less than three years ago.  And just under a year after he became the EU’s first “permanent president” Herman Van Rompuy declared the end to the “nation state” in Europe, though all in the EU still do not agree (see EU President Declares End of Nation State, Britain Skeptical).

There certainly there are problems with the European confederation, yet the Bible predicted them (cf. Daniel 2:41-43).  The Bible also tells of a major economic power that exerts control over buying and selling (Revelation 13:1-4,16-18) will arise out of Europe.

The Bible shows that despite weakness (Daniel 2:41-43) there will be a reorganization in Europe–where, basically, whatever remaining national or regional sovereignty will be given up (Revelation 17:12-13). The Bible also shows that ultimately, a major dictator (and the person I currently suspect for that role currently holds no major official government office) will rise up and rule end time Babylon (Revelation 17:1-13), the final King of the North, European Beast power of Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:40).

As far as the Euro itself goes, regular readers of this page realize that I warned in my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect that it could possibly be replaced. It still could be, but, biblically, the Euro does not seem to have to be replaced.  We will see.

And while Europe is not yet ready to support the final King of the North, we in the Philadelphia remnant of the Church of God have long taught that it will be.   Steps to decrease national sovereignty issues are consistent with our historical teachings.
