India, Europe, and USA moving towards more censorship and free speech restrictions
More and more around the world want to eliminate freedom of speech. India has been called the world’s largest democracy, but notice something from there:
Are social media platforms obligated to protect free speech and expression?

As the debate churns on what cannot be posted on social media platforms, and if platforms can take down content on their own should they find it objectionable, the rub lies largely in this context.
The fundamental right to freedom of speech and expression of Indian citizens under the Indian Constitution can be exercised only against the state. The right is subject to reasonable restrictions specified in Article 19(2) of the Indian Constitution. These restrictions are also applicable to the press. …
Until the advent of social media, adequate forums to express oneself existed, notably the radio, print media, or television. The prerogative of these platforms was to decide on the content they published. In effect, the content was subject to pre-approval of the relevant medium.
Hence, if private media refuses publication of a citizen’s views, the citizen cannot enforce its fundamental right against a private party. This is similar to the logic going on in the USA. The government officially is not to curtail speech, but when one political party has allies in the major media and big tech, it happens ‘legally.’
In what can be termed 21st century book burning, we see places like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and other big tech firms suppressing views that they do not like. But since they are private companies, they essentially can skirt the US Constitution. At the same time, representatives of big tech have blatantly lied to various US Congressional inquiries when they say that they are not biased on political speech–the hypocrisy is abhorrent.
Anyway, what triggered this post today was the following article:
A prominent liberal lawyer who has been involved in some of America’s highest-profile constitutional disputes is warning of an alarming rollback of free speech in Western nations.
The latest is the adoption by Norway of a criminal law that punishes people for “hate speech” toward transgender people in private conversations, noted Jonathan Turley, a professor of law at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
“Such speech controls in Europe have led to a chilling effect on political and religious speech,” Turley wrote. “In their homes, people will often share religious and political views that depart from majoritarian values or beliefs. This law would regulate those conversations and criminalize the expression of prohibited viewpoints.”
Turley said the “most chilling fact” for Americans is that “European-style speech controls have become a core value in the Democratic Party.”
“Once a party that fought for free speech, it has become the party demanding Internet censorship and hate speech laws,” he said. “President-Elect Joe Biden has called for speech controls and recently appointed a transition head for agency media issues that is one of the most pronounced anti-free speech figures in the United States. Yes, like what happened behind the old Iron Curtain and in the Soviet Union, families are being pressured to turn relatives in for expressing views that the government of Norway does not agree with–which includes views specifically taught in the Bible. It will get much worse in Europe in time.
And yes, Joe Biden has also called for limits of free speech in the USA.
First, let’s look at the first amendment to the Constitution of the USA:
- First amendment — Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Despite the clause in the first amendment in the US Constitution, various government officials have interfered with freedom of religion and freedom of speech.
How might Joe Biden violate freedom of speech and freedom of religion?

This is not above “love” but about censorship and pushing aside religious views and values. Notice that the Biden-Harris plan calls it HATE to allow people of faith to have a religious conscience on matters of sexual morality.
No church I am aware of teaches their congregants to hate LGBTQ+ people. Yet, the Biden-Harris plan has determined that it is ‘hate’ to not go along with their view of sexual morality. They do not truly believe in religious freedom–they want to control religion.

Joe Biden has stated he would create a task force to deal with online threats and extremism. What does the first amendment, part of the Bill of Rights, to the US Constitution say? Is the Biden-Harris team committed to “advance LGBTQ+ equality in America”? Has the Biden-Harris campaign posted that giving more religious freedom is “hate against LGBTQ+ individuals”? What is the so-called “Equality Act” all about? Could Kamala Harris be more strident about this than even Joe Biden? Might he consider it wrong to quote scriptures that might be considered as “insults” by those opposed to biblical sexual morality? What about Canada’s position on some of this? Are various ones in governmental positions suggesting banning at least parts of the Bible (including those that show homosexuals can change)? Is believing the New Testament considered to be a bigger problem of prejudice than racial views? Does Big Tech (like YouTube) rely more on their ‘community standards” instead of the Bible? Is a famine of the word coming according to Amos and might that involve the internet? Should we call out sins, but be wise as to how, when, and where according to scripture? Where will the fake news ultimately lead to per 1 Thessalonians 5:2? Are Harris-Biden views promoting hate against those who hold to aspects of biblical morality?

In 2017, Lauri Skori of the Battle River School board told a religious school in Alberta, Canada that it could not teach/read certain portions of the Bible. In 2002, a court in Canada ruled against one who referred to certain scriptures that some homosexuals objected to. In 2017, there was “An Act to Amend the Canadian Human Rights Act and Criminal Code” related to those who wish to be considered transgendered. Government officials in Canada and elsewhere have been ruling against the Bible. Is any of this prophesied? Will this get worse? What was the prophet Amos inspired to write?

So, the Bible tells of a time that will come when the word of God will not be found. And that would seem to be because it will be taken off the internet. In the 21st century, the internet is accessed by people in every country, and thus some type of internet restriction/suspension/site removal is coming.

Many big tech companies are biased, not only against political leaders/positions, but also against the Bible and those who claim to teach what it teaches.
Jesus repeatedly condemned religious leaders for hypocrisy (e.g. Matthew 15:7-9; Luke 11:43-44). The major media in the USA are no less guilty of hypocrisy. This will not end well for the USA (Isaiah 10:5-12).
Furthermore, 666 control and Orwellian suppression of the truth is coming.
More stifling of religious speech will happen.
The prophet Amos was inspired to record the following:
11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)
But Matthew 24:14 will be fulfilled BEFORE the full ‘famine of the word’ happens.
After the Gospel of the Kingdom of God has sufficiently reached the world the end comes and the Beast will rise up (Matthew 24:14-22, Revelation 13) and more totalitarian controls will be put in place.
Censorship and surveillance is increasing. However, lawsuits against the censors will only slow some down and change some of their tactics.
Although you might think that if you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear from surveillance or speech restrictions, consider that many in the governments of the West consider that those not supporting homosexual marriages, etc. are extremist. If you accept that the Bible teaches that homosexuals can change (1 Corinthians 6:9-11), that is something certain so-called “fact checkers” disagree with. Let me add that I also saw someone once on a documentary that stated that people who believed in the millennium could not be trusted and should be considered as potential terrorists. The fact that we in the Continuing Church of God would be considered pacifists, does not change the fact that, since we hold to millennial and other biblical views, we can be improperly classified as extremist by government employees with various agendas. Having biblical views are becoming more problematic in the world (see ZH: Germany has killed freedom of speech and expects the rest of the EU to do the same). Canada does not want certain biblical verses to even be quoted (watch Canadian censoring of the Bible).
While the Europeans and North Americans decry internet and speech restrictions, in various countries in Asia and elsewhere they are also implementing restrictions themselves.
The Bible says to:
1 Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)
And that warning includes telling of sins and prophecies that discuss punishment.
While actual ‘fake news’ is bad, understand that even in the West, a lot of what has been called ‘fake news’ was actually true.
That being said, it will be fake news from journalists and government leaders that will mislead people about coming wars and devastation (1 Thessalonians 5:2)! They are already putting out ‘fake news’ when many push aspects of the LGBTQ agenda.
