At Beijing Olympics, Xi and Putin Announce Plan to Counter US

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping pledged closer cooperation to counter the influence of the United States during a meeting Friday ahead of the opening ceremony for the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
The Putin – Xi meeting — the 38th of its kind, according to Beijing — was the latest evidence both countries have drawn closer as their relationships with the United States have become more fraught.
The meeting comes at a pivotal moment, as Russia masses over 100,000 troops along the border with Ukraine and demands concessions from NATO, the Western military alliance, raising fears of a conflict.
It is not clear how far China is willing to go in supporting Russia on the Ukraine issue, especially if the situation devolves into violence during the Beijing Olympics.
A joint statement following the Putin-Xi meeting did not explicitly mention Ukraine. However, the document said both countries opposed further expansion of NATO and called for the military alliance to abandon its “Cold War” approach.
The United States has accused Russia of searching for a pretext to invade Ukraine, as part of its efforts to expand Moscow’s sphere of influence in Eastern Europe.
In the lengthy and wide-ranging statement, Russia also reaffirmed its support for China’s positions on Taiwan, saying the island is an “integral part of China” and that it opposes Taiwan’s independence “in any form.”
Chinese officials have recently warned Washington that its support of Taiwan, a self-ruled island claimed by Beijing, could result in a war between the United States and China.
In their statement, Putin and Xi condemned “attempts by external forces to undermine security and stability in their common adjacent regions.” Though the statement did not name the exact regions in question, it said the two sides pledged to “increase cooperation” in those areas.
Putin and Xi also took aim at the U.S. approach to Asia, which China views as an attempt to counter its rise. The two men said they “remain highly vigilant regarding the negative impact on peace and stability” of the U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy. They also said they were “seriously concerned” about the recent creation of a trilateral alliance among the United States, Britain, and Australia. …
Analysts say Russia-China cooperation could make it harder for the United States to punish Moscow with sanctions or other measures in the event of a Russian invasion of Ukraine. The pushing of the Russians and Chinese closer together has been a consequence of the policies from the Obama, Trump, and Biden Administrations.

As far as “the recent creation of a trilateral alliance among the United States, Britain, and Australia” that Russia and China are concerned about, that caused AUKUS. And it is also something that the Europeans are concerned about. Related to that, we put out the following video several months ago:
AUKUS sparking European military
In September 2021, US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced a new military partnership called AUKUS. This announcement upset the French and the European Union, which is not part of it. Could AUKUS be another spark for the Europeans to develop their own joint military? What have European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and former German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel called for? Could having the Europeans increase their military capacity and technology and be dangerous? Is the European King of the North, also called the King of Assyria, prophesied to destroy the USA (Daniel 11:39) and its British-descended allies? What could stop that? Is national or personal repentance possible? Do the nations need Jesus or military alliances?

So, yes, various actions by the USA and its British-descended allies are impacting the rest of the world.
Consider that Russia is the largest country in terms of size, China is the largest in terms of population, and the European Union is the largest in terms of economic output.
And in the past several months, the Biden-Harris Administration has significantly upset every one of them.
Of course, the USA does have the world’s most powerful military. However, the Bible prophesies that the world’s strongest military will be taken over (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses) and the world will marvel about that (cf. Revelation 13:1-4). Furthermore, I believe that Russia will be involved in assisting in the taking over of the USA and Canada and likely will end up with some of their territory in the north-west (for more details, check out Russia and Ukraine: Their Origins and Prophesied Future). I also expect Chinese involvement, which I believe will end badly for Australia and probably New Zealand (for details see Will the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves? and Australia and New Zealand in Prophecy).
As far as Russia and China go, they are working together on many fronts, and have realized that they want to have closer economic ties, at least to counter sanctions from the West.
For one example, the Chinese Belt & Road Initiative (BRI, also known as the ‘Silk Road Project’) has long been intended to give China more trade and influence throughout Asia, as well as with Europe and Africa. The initiative was unveiled by Xi Jinping in September and October 2013 during visits to Kazakhstan and Indonesia. Russia is involved with it as well.
As regular readers of this page are aware, it is my view that this BRI project will result in putting infrastructure in place that some will use related to the prophesied gathering at Armageddon.
Notice that the Bible tells of a time when the ‘kings of the sunrise/east’ will travel on land and will end up in Armageddon:
12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”
16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. (Revelation 16:12-16)
The ‘kings of the east’ are to come across the Euphrates river, which will at least partially dry up according to prophecy. The new “Silk Road” is expected to head near the river Euphrates–and with recently announced Syrian involvement, fairly close to Armageddon (see VOA: China’s ‘Belt and Road’ Risk in Syria May Reap Big Rewards). And while I have not seen anything that shows that the Belt and Road Initiative is specifically planned to go all the way to Tel Megiddo (Armageddon), there are a couple of highways in the area of Armageddon already that I have personally seen. So, it would seem that the proposed Silk Road project will help build a major road from the far east through central Asia and into the Middle East that can be used to at least get close to Armageddon, and then there are other roads that connect to it.
Russia and China are clearly among the “kings of the east.” You really cannot get “east” of Russia and its ‘east-ness’ extends all the way into ‘the west.’
The “kings of the east” will have to somehow cooperate for this to happen. And we are seeing two of the biggest “kings of the east”–Russia with the most land and China with the most people–increase their cooperation.

Over 60 nations, including Russia, are involved with this. Could this Silk Road project possibly produce thoroughfares that could be used by troops that will amass at Armageddon? We could well see the gathering at Armageddon by then AND have the Chinese ‘roads’ (some are actually shipping ports) used to transport soldiers and military equipment to gather at Armageddon.
Now, it is true that the Silk Road project increases China’s economic and political influence, but the reality of physics is that most roads go both ways. And that certainly will be the case for those involved in this project.
This project will give Russia and Europe greater access to markets in Asia. And to Europe and Africa. It is not intended to help the USA or Canada. Plus, Australia said it would not be part of it (see Australian split with China’s New Silk Road (Belt and Road Initiative)–which has not pleased the Chinese. Although New Zealand is still associated with China on matters Australia is not (see ‘New Zealand Assures Australia There Is No Rift Over China’), New Zealand should not expect to exist for too many years from now.
The Chinese BRI project is connecting to Russia, Europe, most of Asia, and even somewhat to Africa and South America.
Europe, Russia, and China are more and more upset with US trading policies and the timing of the BRI from China is getting various nations to directly and indirectly support it.
There is a cost to USA and other sanctions.
A shift toward Eurasia and the final time of the Gentiles was prophesied in the Bible and we are seeing political, economic, and infrastructure events moving towards it.
We are getting closer to the end of Anglo-American dominance as well as Armageddon.
Steps continue to be taken that are leading to it.
