Natyre.com reported the following:
The world just lived through the 11 hottest years on record — what now?
Earth is increasingly ‘out of balance’, as more heat is trapped in the atmosphere, driving global warming.
March 23, 2026
The past 11 years have been the hottest on record, with 2025 being the second or third hottest year since observations began, according to a report released today by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
The State of the Global Climate 2025 report , which tracks major climate indicators, found atmospheric carbon dioxide and ocean heat reached record levels in 2025. Global surface temperatures were slightly lower in 2025 than the previous year — the hottest on record — but “continue a run of exceptionally high temperatures”, the report states. Sea-ice levels in the Antarctic and the Arctic were among the lowest since 1979. …
Energy imbalance
For the first time, the report includes a measure of the accumulation of heat on Earth and in the atmosphere. The indicator, called the Earth’s energy imbalance (EEI), has been used by climate scientists for at least a decade, and is the difference between incoming energy from the Sun and the amount radiated back into space and allows scientists to monitor the rate of global warming. A positive EEI value means that the total amount of heat stored on Earth is increasing.
In 2025, EEI reached its highest-level since observations started in 1960, the report states. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-026-00946-6
These weather issues should serve as a wake-up call.
Back in 2009, in a book that accurately laid out what would and would NOT happen in 2012, I mentioned the following was about to happen:
Considering all of the natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, food shortages, and economic problems in the past few years, perhaps this would be a good time to explain that the Bible shows that these problems were expected to occur prior to the great tribulation. Those outside the Bible have sometimes referred to a time such as this as a time of transition or chaos. …
There will be a generation that will experience end-time events, beginning with “sorrows,” including the Great Tribulation, heavenly signs, and finally the return of Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:5-34). …
Mark recorded the same account of this time from his perspective:
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?” 5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. 9 But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit…” (Mark 13:3–11).
Thus, in both Matthew and Mark it is clear that a time called “the beginning of sorrows” precedes the Great Tribulation.
Notice that in Mark’s account he uses the term troubles. Troubles would seem to include economic and political problems, in addition to those specifically mentioned, such as wars, famines, natural disasters, and pestilences. …
Odd weather patterns result in food shortages and natural disasters. Matthew 24:7 The world is actually in a berserk transition, as the real age of peace is not yet here. It may be a period of chaos. It is the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:8 (Thiel B. 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect. Nazarene Books, 2009)
The above was published because it was consistent with Bible prophecy. We have been seeing odd weather patterns and the United Nations and others are concerned about related food shortages.
The Bible is clear that God controls the weather and various calamities, but wants people to heed His prophets:
6… If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it?
7 Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. (Amos 3:6-7)
The Bible tells of weather-related blessings for obedience and weather-related curses for disobedience. Weather is not as random as many people seem to want to believe.
Bible prophecy shows that before the Messiah (Jesus) returns, we will have what could be called as a global heat punishment:
8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. (Revelation 16:8-9)
But, the above prophecy is for several years into the future–we are not too near that yet. But I believe that this will happen in the 21st century.
The Bible shows:
30 God … commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30)
And weather problems are one tool that God uses to urge people to repent (cf. Haggai 2:17; Amos 4:7-12). But most will not. Nor will most Christians as they should (cf. Revelation 3:14-18; see also The Laodicean Church Era).
Related to record heat a while back, the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) put together the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:
Record Heat: Is it Biblical?
Heat records were set in over 118 locations during the Summer of 2018. Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America all had major heat waves. The hottest recorded rain also occurred in the Summer of 2018. Beyond heat related deaths and discomfort, there were other impacts on flora, fauna, and the environment. Does God control the weather? Does God promise good weather for obedience and warn of fire and other weather problems for disobedience? Is what has been happening consistent with the beginning of sorrows and troubles Jesus spoke about? Is worse heat coming according to Bible prophecy? What about sin and repentance? Does the United Nations have the answer? What about the good news of the Kingdom of God? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

Since that video came out, it seems like each summer, more heat records are happening.
We have had record temperatures this month in parts of California and elsewhere.
Most now will ignore weather changes and simply believe that weather changes all the time and the changes do not have to do with God or disobeying His laws.
Yet, the Bible shows that weird, severe, and odd weather patterns are part of the warning messages that God gives.
Are you paying attention to those messages?
