Israeli govt slammed by right for making land concessions for Biden …

July 13, 2022

In preparation for President Biden’s visit to the region, the Israeli government made sweeping concessions to the Palestinian Authority. These concessions, intended to appease the Biden administration, which had reestablished relations with the PA and Hamas and is pushing for a two-state solution, angered the right-wing (as was anticipated) and the left-wing, and the Arabs.

Benny Gantz, the head of the Blue and White alliance and current deputy prime minister of Israel, met with Mahmoud Abbas, President of the PA, in Ramallah last week, preparatory to President Biden’s first visit to the region. …

Abbas “stressed the importance of creating a political horizon, respecting signed agreements, and stopping actions and measures that lead to the deterioration of the situation,” Hussein al-Sheikh, a senior Palestinian official, said in a tweet.

Abbas also stressed the importance of having a “calm atmosphere before President Biden’s visit, which we welcome.”

It was the third known meeting between Abbas and Gantz since August last year.

It is now evident that they agreed to more than security arrangements. On Tuesday, the Office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) gave “approval of six zoning plans for Palestinians in the Judea and Samaria area,” Major General Rassan Alian stated Tuesday. “Validation is approved for the plans of Hizma and Harmala. Deposit is approved for the plans of Fukeikis, Hares, Kisan, and Battir.” …

Media reports did not specify what concessions the PA made in exchange.

On Tuesday, the chairman of the right-wing Otzma Yehudit party, MK Itamar Ben Gvir, slammed Gantz and the concessions.

“Leftist Benny Gantz harms the security of the State of Israel to please President Biden. Instead of worrying about the interest of the State of Israel, Gantz acts laxly and irresponsibly, and he calls this a trust-building relationship. There is no faith in those who call for the destruction of the State of Israel, headed by Abu Mazen, whom Gantz hosted at his home.

Ben Gvir also attacked Lapid for his decision to remove a building permit for 2,000 housing units in Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem from the agenda. He said, “The defense minister and the prime minister’s office are acting as if they were selling at the end of the season and abandoning state security before the election. Only the formation of a full right-wing government will stop this farce.” …

Despite the concessions, the meeting between Gantz and Abbas as unpopular with the Palestinians as security coordination requires the PA to share information about terrorists with Israel’s security forces. https://www.israel365news.com/271344/israeli-govt-slammed-by-right-for-making-land-concessions-for-biden-left-calls-for-more/

Anyway, Joe Biden is now in Israel. He and the current ‘interim’ government of Israel are in more agreement than Joe Biden was with the old Benjamin Netanyahu government.

The Palestinians are willing to speak with Joe Biden (they did not consider that Donald Trump was “an honest broker”).

CNN reported the following:

Biden embraces a signature Trump achievement on first trip to the Middle East, aiming to bring Israel and Saudi Arabia closer

July 13, 2022

JerusalemCNN —

As President Joe Biden arrived here on Wednesday, he is doing something he has never done on a foreign trip: Embracing one of his predecessor’s legacy achievements.

While much of his foreign travel in his first 18 months in office has focused on reversing the foreign policy of former President Donald Trump and shoring up battered alliances, Biden on his first trip to the Middle East will embrace the Trump-era Abraham Accords that normalized relations between Israel and several Arab countries and pursue an expansion of growing Arab-Israeli security and economic ties.

Biden landed in Tel Aviv just after 8 a.m. ET Wednesday and delivered remarks on further strengthening the relationship between the US and Israel. …

In the lead-up to the trip, US officials have been working to deepen Israeli-Arab security coordination and broker agreements that will inch Israel and Saudi Arabia – which do not have diplomatic relations – closer to normalization. …

The Biden administration’s focus on expanding normalization agreements between Israel and Arab countries has frustrated Palestinian officials who would prefer the US focus on reviving the stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace process. But US officials say their focus on Arab-Israeli normalization is a recognition of realities in the region: The momentum for growing Arab-Israeli ties coupled with dead-end political conditions in Israel and the Palestinian territories.

Two senior administration officials said the administration would like to see movement toward Israeli-Palestinian peace but said the White House has decided not to pursue the kind of high-level shuttle diplomacy that previous administrations have chased because it would likely fail. https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/13/politics/joe-biden-israel-saudi-arabia-trip/index.html

The Middle East diplomacy of the Biden administration is full of paradoxes. Biden’s Middle East trip is being carried out in a high-profile manner, but this cannot change the fact that he will return empty-handed, nor can it save the US decline in the Middle East. https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202207/1270426.shtml

Information in the above reports seems to be a reason that the Palestinians have looked toward Europe to become involved.

Notice something from last month:

June 15, 2022

European Commission President von der Leyen … met the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority, Mohammad Shtayyeh, and was welcomed by a military guard. She took the opportunity to announce that the Commission will release economic aid (€214 million) which had been frozen because of a dispute about alleged incitement in Palestinian text books. …

EU is the largest donor to the Palestinian authority and the total annual aid by EU and its member states is estimated to €600 million. In her public statement, she mentioned in passing EU’s commitment to the two state-solution …

A recent issue between the EU and Israel was Israel’s ban on six Palestinian civil society organisations because of alleged links with terror groups. Has the dispute been resolved and can the funding to them be resumed?

Israel claimed that it had shown evidence about the links to EU and EU member states but the evidence was rejected as insufficient according to recent media reports. https://www.brusselstimes.com/239229/high-level-visit-pays-the-way-for-deepened-eu-israeli-partnership

Publicly, the Europeans have been more inclined towards Palestinian concerns than Israeli ones. Though with the need for energy sources, it is difficult to know what is going on behind the scenes.

That being said, nearly three years ago, during the time of the Trump Administration, Palestinian Authority President Abbas met in Germany to discuss peace in an attempt to gain European involvement:

29 August 2019

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas … called for Europe to play a greater role in the Middle East peace process. …

German Chancellor Angela Merkel called on Thursday for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict even if this goal is “increasingly difficult to achieve.”

Speaking alongside Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Berlin, Merkel said that Palestinians and Israelis must be able to live side-by-side in peace and security. …

The Palestinians have cut off relations with the United States and no longer view Washington as a neutral arbiter.

Germany, on the other hand, has taken efforts to support a multilateral approach instead of unilateral imposition, Abbas said.

“Therefore we demand that negotiations fall under an international umbrella” composed of a quartet of European states and Arab states to guide talks between Israelis and Palestinians, Abbas said. https://www.dw.com/en/germanys-merkel-insists-on-two-state-solution-in-israel-palestine-conflict/a-50211907

The Bible shows that the time will come when there will be a temporary ‘peace deal’ (see the article The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27).

The Bible shows that a European leader will be involved in confirming the coming prophesied deal of Daniel 9:26-27, which states:

26 And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27).

The “prince” is a European leader who is later called the King of the North in Daniel 11:40. The ‘one week’ has generally been understood by prophecy watchers to mean a seven-year deal, that is broken in the middle of it (after 3 1/2 years). This break is also confirmed in the following scripture:

31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (Daniel 11:31)

The “him” is the European King of the North.

Events related to Daniel 9:27 were listed as number 9 in my 22 items to prophetically watch in 2022.

Now, one way to show Daniel is referring to a European kingdom being involved is to realize that it was the people of the Roman Empire of the 1st century that fulfilled the portion of Daniel 9:26 as they destroyed the city (Jerusalem) in 70 A.D. Jewish sources, while not understanding all of this, also agree that it was Roman sources that destroyed the city and sanctuary as the following demonstrates:

“The people of the prince will come and destroy the city and the Sanctuary” Daniel 9:26, refers to the Roman legions of Vespasian and Titus, who destroyed Jerusalem. (Daniel 9 – A True Biblical Interpretation. Jews for Judaism. https://jewsforjudaism.org/knowledge/articles/answers/jewish-polemics/texts/daniel-9-a-true-biblical-interpretation/ accessed 07/30/16)

In the 21st century, the European Union includes much of the land and peoples that were part of the ancient Roman Empire. And it is the “prince” coming from that people that verse 27 of Daniel 9 is referring to. Thus, this prophecy tells us that a lower level European leader will somewhat officially start to rise up about 3 1/2 years before the great tribulation (and yes, according to Jesus, some “tribulation” does happen prior to the start of the Great Tribulation). Another is the fact that the “beast of the sea” of Revelation 13:1 fits with the beasts from the “great sea” of Daniel 7:2–and that sea is the Mediterranean Sea according to the Old Testament. Hence a power in Europe is the only region that could have an empire geographically like the old Roman one (for more details, please see Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation).

Despite some Israeli resistance, the Palestinians will end up with land that Israel currently controls (scriptures and details are in the article Gaza and the Palestinians in Bible Prophecy).

Consider the following sequence based upon Daniel’s writings and Jesus’ words in the Gospels:

  1. The beginning of sorrows (Matthew 24:4-8)–this has begun.
  2. A seven year deal is confirmed/advanced 9daniel 9:27) and the final countdown begun– this has not happened yet, though various ones are working on it.
  3. There will be persecutions against those the support the true end-time Philadelphia work –this will intensify.
  4. The Gospel of the Kingdom will reach the world as a witness — this is in progress but not finished.
  5. The sacrifices will stop and the abomination spoken of by Daniel will be set up. This is about 3 1/2 years after item 2.
  6. A decree with be issued (Zephaniah 2:1-3).
  7. The most faithful will flee (Revelation 12:14-16).
  8. The Great Tribulation will begin and Jerusalem will be trampled down by Gentiles for 42 months.
  9. Jesus will return 3 1/2 years after the Great Tribulation begins.
  10. Jesus will bring peace (see How Will Middle East Peace be Brought About?).

Notice how many items are directly predicated on the seven-year deal of Daniel 9:27. Note: The sacrifices will have to start before they are stopped, but precisely where that appears in the sequence is unclear, other than it is after item 2 and prior to item 5.

Now let’s look at the last half of Daniel 9:27:

Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate. (Daniel 9:27)

Ten times in the Book of Revelation (NKJV) it speaks of God’s wrath–many of those times speak of His wrath being poured out (e.g. Revelation 16:1).

The consummation in Daniel 9:27 seems to be related to the final “Day of the Lord.” When it happens (and it starts 2 1/2 years after the start of the Great Tribulation–hence it between steps 8 and 9 above), the world will basically be desolate spiritually–and it is on the desolate the wrath will be poured out on. Information on the Great Tribulation and Day of the Lord is found in the article When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?

With various ones wanting some part of Middle East peace deal, Europeans wanting to be involved, and Palestinians wanting Europe involved, we are seeing steps on the world scene that are aligning with properly understood biblical prophecies.
