A new major rift has emerged between the UK and the European Union concerning the post-Brexit relationship over Gibraltar.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said a draft mandate for talks published by the bloc on Tuesday “seeks to undermine the UK’s sovereignty” over the British overseas territory.
He demanded it “cannot form a basis for negotiations” as he urged the EU to “think again.”
But the bloc’s post-Brexit negotiator, Maros Sefcovic, said the mandate seeks to find a “positive impact” for those living either side of the border with Spain while protecting the single market.
Gibraltar, whose sovereignty is disputed by Spain and Britain, currently remains subject to the rules of the free-travel Schengen area, keeping the border with Spain open.

UK To Permanently Deploy 2 Warships To Asian Waters In Counter-China Mission

London has of late joined Washington in deepening its security ties with Japan, now on Tuesday announcing it plans to permanently deploy a pair of warships in southeast Asian waters off Japan at a moment tensions with China over Taiwan and other contested islands are at their highest in years.
The permanent deployment is to be launched after the HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier and its strike group sail to Japan in September. This after it joins other allies including the US and Australia in conducting a series of multinational exercises in the Philippine Sea this August, according to a defense ministry statement this week.
Britain’s Defense Minister Ben Wallace unveiled that the UK will keep two warships in the region while in Tokyo meeting with his Japanese counterpart, Nobuo Kishi. “Following on from the strike group’s inaugural deployment, the United Kingdom will permanently assign two ships in the region from later this year,” he said.
The Elizabeth is carrying F-35B stealth jets, and is currently escorted by two destroyers, two frigates, and two support vessels. Unless something changes, “permanently” in Asia means that some British warships will not be around to protect Gibraltar or the UK itself.
The UK has somewhat followed the USA’s lead towards its “Asian pivot.”
Hillary Clinton is considered to have been an early promoter of what has been called the USA’s pivot strategy towards Asia (Clinton, Hillary. America’s Pacific Century. Foreign Policy, November 2011; Clinton, Hard Choices, pp. 41-46). The result of this ‘Asian pivot’ has partially been responsible for a decreased USA military presence in Europe.
As China’s influence increases, the USA and UK want to take steps to halt it and increase their influence.
A major blind spot in USA and UK foreign policy is the fact that its leaders do not believe and understand biblical prophecy.
Because of that, various administrations have made major policy moves which what pushed Europe to increase its military potential.
During the Obama-Biden Administration, the Europeans became incensed about U.S.A. and U.K. espionage to the point that various Europeans believe this has caused irreparable damage to relations (see also The Snowden Leaks are Leading to the Destruction of the USA). The Obama-Biden Administration also pushed the Europeans to spend more on their militaries. Then the USA got Donald Trump, which further infuriated the Europeans. Donald Trump also pushed the Europeans to spend more on their militaries. His election also led them to decide to form a pan-European military organization called the Permanent Structured Cooperation, PESCO (watch PESCO and a Great European Army).
All of this will hurt the U.S.A. and U.K. later as the Bible shows they will be taken over by a European power called the King of the North (Daniel 8:24-25, 11:39).
Furthermore, the Apostle Paul warned:
20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:20-22)
The USA’s and U.K.’s political leadership basically do despise prophecies, do not test all things, do not hold fast to what is good, and most certainly do not abstain from every form of evil–sadly, it encourages evil in many ways.
None of this means that the USA and UK have no legitimate concerns about China.
But, while the USA and UK focus more on China, they will not see what is prophesied to rise up in Europe as a major threat until it is too late.
The late Pastor General of the old Worldwide Church of God, Herbert W. Armstrong, wrote the following in 1979:
What is this abomination? This refers to Daniel 11:31 and Matthew 24:15…That will be a time when the UNITED Europe shall appear–the revival of the medieval “Holy Roman Empire.” We shall then be warned, and readied to be taken to a place of refuge and safety from the Great Tribulation. Forty-five days later “the beasts armies” will surround Jerusalem. Thirty days later the Great Tribulation will probably start with a nuclear attack on London and Britain–and possibly the same day or immediately after, on the United States and Canadian cities. The GREAT TRIBULATION, we shall fully then realize, is the time of “Jacob’s Trouble,” spoken of in Jeremiah 30:7. And Jacob’s name was named on Joseph’s sons, Ephraim and Manasseh (Gen. 48:16). At that time a third of the people in our nations will die, or shall have died, by famine and disease epidemics; another third will dies of the war–our cities being destroyed (Ezek. 6:6), and the remaining third will be carried to the land of our enemies as slaves (Ezek. 5:12). (Armstrong HW. The Time We Are In, Now. Pastor General’s Report-Vol 1, No. 15, November 20, 1979, Page 2).
The Bible states:
33 I will scatter you among the nations and draw out a sword after you; your land shall be desolate and your cities waste (Leviticus 26:33).
Nuclear and other high-tech weapons (as well as emp, electromagnetic pulse, bombs), as well as devastating solar flares, are ways to make land desolate and modern cities waste (for more on emp-weapons and solar flares see Nuclear EMP Attack on UK Called ‘Quite Likely’).
Events that resembles nuclear or similar devastation are part of the prophesied curses mentioned in the Bible:
23 ‘The whole land is brimstone, salt, and burning (Deuteronomy 29:23).
19 Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts
The land is burned up,
And the people shall be as fuel for the fire; No man shall spare his brother.
20 And he shall snatch on the right hand
And be hungry;
He shall devour on the left hand
And not be satisfied; Every man shall eat the flesh of his own arm. 21 Manasseh shall devour Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh; Together they shall be against Judah (Isaiah 9:19-21).6 In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste (Ezekiel 6:6).
Anyway, while the UK and USA look to defend against China, China is not the prophesied threat to their lands.
Europe is.
Moving naval forces to Asia will not prevent what will happen to the USA and UK.
National repentance can, but that is not prophesied to happen.
In speaking of God’s people Ephraim (modern UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand)–whom He’s going to punish for their lack of repentance, God says:
“And they have not cried unto me WITH THEIR HEART, when they howled upon their beds: … they rebel against me. Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me. They return, BUT NOT TO THE MOST HIGH” (Hosea 7:14-16).
Without national repentance, the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are doomed.
The Anglo-nations need national repentance. God would listen:
13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. (2 Chronicles 7:13-15)
Notice that lack of repentance is listed as a reason that the King of Assyria (the final King of the North) will become Ephraim’s king:
3 I taught Ephraim to walk…5…But the Assyrian shall be his king, Because they refused to repent. 6 And the sword shall slash in his cities, Devour his districts, And consume them, Because of their own counsels. 7 My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him. (Hosea 11:3a, 5b-7)
The prophesied shame is starting to come upon the Anglo-American powers. Assyria is end time central Europe (see Germany’s Assyrian Roots Throughout History). Without repentance, increased pride is occurring, and this will be followed by the prophesied destruction of the Anglo-nations. And yes, other nations have their sins, but they will be punished later–But you personally can and SHOULD repent.
Individually, and nationally, repentance is needed:
20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
21 “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. 23 Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live? (Ezekiel 18:20-23)
30 “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord God. “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. 31 Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!” (Ezekiel 18:30-32)
Your Bible says many people have made an OUTWARD show of returning to Him or repenting, but they haven’t done it WITH THEIR HEARTS! Ephraim’s repentance, and for that matter, that of the rest of the world, is the outward, superficial, WORLDLY REPENTANCE with no real sincerity or DEEP feeling.
Anyway, while your nation probably will not repent, you can.

PESCO and a Great European Army In November 2018, French President Macron called for a “true European army” because of China, Russia, and the USA. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted “a very strong Europe.” Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as “my friend” and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe’s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with “a great army”?
