Trump is also weaponizing the U.S. dollar, instructing the U.S. Treasury to put more countries under surveillance for suspected “currency manipulation,” subjecting them to potential retaliatory sanctions. …

Trump’s policies add luster to gold at dollar’s expense

Central banks in emerging countries are hoarding the precious metal at the fastest pace in decades. The “weaponization” of the dollar by President Trump is making countries increasingly wary of the greenback.

Twenty years after central banks in the West dumped gold in what many saw as the end of the metal’s role in the global monetary system, their counterparts in emerging countries are hoarding gold at rates not seen in over 50 years.

Central banks bought 145.5 tons of gold in the first quarter of 2019, an increase of 68% compared with last year and the strongest first quarter since 2013, according to the World Gold Council. In the past four quarters, these banks have hoarded over 715 tons of the precious metal — the highest that the industry-led body has ever recorded. …

It would take years to put compliance and regulatory structures in place to develop an electronic currency with the potential to challenge the dominance of the US dollar as the world’s preferred reserve currency, analysts say.

The dollar is likely to reign supreme in the short-term despite trade tiffs dampening the global economic outlook and stoking fears of a possible currency war between the world’s two biggest economies – the US and China. While central banks are stuck in a low interest rate environment, policymakers have begun suggesting radical ideas to tackle their fiscal challenges.

Last week, Bank of England governor Mark Carney said the world’s reliance on the US dollar “won’t hold” and should be replaced by a new international monetary and financial system. …

Though he did not elaborate, Facebook’s Libra comes closest to the digital currency Mr Carney described. The digital token – set to be rolled out next year and secured against a basket of reserve-backed currencies – would not be controlled by Facebook, but run by a consortium that includes Uber, Mastercard, Stripe, Visa, PayPal and Spotify, among others.

Libra, or a token which JP Morgan plans to launch, could “carry the mantle of a global cryptocurrency which Mr Carney is talking about”, said Mr Valecha.

Yes, completely dethroning the US dollar appears to be years away.

But it will happen!

Turning its dollar into a weapon will help destroy the USA.

Right now, various ones are taking steps to dethrone the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Michael Krieger believes this may happen by 2025:

The USD is unique in that it grants the U.S. the “exorbitant privilege” of having a national currency which at the same time serves as the global reserve currency. …

Pricing key commodities such as oil, which everyone in the world needs, in USD creates a massive structural support for the dollar versus other government fiat currencies. If other nations constantly have to convert to USD before purchasing commodities, there’s a constant underlying global demand to buy USD on a daily basis. No other country has this sort of structural support for its currency, and it allows the U.S. to be far more fiscally irresponsible than other countries without suffering devastating currency devaluations on the global market.

Despite the tremendous advantage such a system offers the U.S. on the world stage, there haven’t been any rival countries that could realistically challenge it given American economic dominance. This is no longer the case. …

Still today, the US GDP accounts for 22% of world’s GDP, while 80% of international payments are made in dollars.

Hence the United States receives goods from abroad always at comparatively very low prices, while the massive demand for dollars from the rest of the world allows to refinance the US public debt at very low costs. …

This is absolutely key. There’s now a huge mismatch between the use of USD in the global financial system and the U.S. share of the world economy. China and Russia are acutely aware of this and have been taking major steps to transition to a more multi-polar currency world. There can be no multi-polar geopolitical world without a multi-polar currency world, which is why they’re working toward dethroning the USD. I believe they will succeed.

Specifically, I think by 2025 the world will have a completely different global financial system from the one chaotically birthed in the 1970s. While I am not certain of the date, if certain prophetic events take place within the next four years (e.g. Daniel 9:27; see The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27), it is possible that the US dollar will be worth no more than its scrap and burning value by 2025.

Another factor that will lead to the collapse of the US dollar is the increasing amount of debt in the US. And it is rising, even faster than various ‘experts’ predicted:

The U.S. budget deficit is growing faster than expected and President Donald Trump’s trade war is weighing on the economy, according to a new Congressional Budget Office forecast that highlights key challenges ahead of the 2020 elections.

The shortfall is set to widen to $1 trillion by fiscal year 2020, two years earlier than previously estimated, according to the non-partisan group’s annual budget outlook released Wednesday in Washington. 08/21/19 https://time.com/5657676/us-budget-deficit-1-trillion-2020/

The Hebrew prophet Habakkuk was told by God to write the following:

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry…5 Indeed, because he transgresses by wine, He is a proud man … 6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him, And a taunting riddle against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases What is not his–how long? And to him who loads himself with many pledges’? 7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly? Will they not awaken who oppress you? And you will become their booty. 8 Because you have plundered many nations, All the remnant of the people shall plunder you. Because of men’s blood And the violence of the land and the city, And of all who dwell in it. (Habakkuk 2:3,5,6-8).

The world will wake up to the fact that the USA cannot possibly pay back its debts and will take successful military actions against the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39).

Financial Reset by 2022?

Euro Pacific Capital CEO says the US economy is about to crash because of debt. US National Security Adviser John Bolton declared debt as a threat to society. Forbes writer John Mauldin says that a financial reset is expected in the 2020s, as does Willem Middelkoop, who believes gold may be part of a reset. Morgan Stanley believes the end of the current economic cycle may be in 2021. MIT pointed to changes in the 2020s. How much debt does the USA add daily? Does any of this tie in with biblical prophecies? Does Habakkuk 2 have applicability to the USA? Is it wise to try to discount debt and not pay it back in full? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues in the light of scripture.

It is possible that the end of the US dollar possibly would happen during the next presidential term (as currently this could be theoretically possibly be as early as 2023 or 2024, presuming that the deal of Daniel 9:27 is confirmed within a year or so). A ‘reset’ could, however, be tried sooner.
