Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump do not have the trust of most USA voters.  Voice of American reported about a ‘third party’ candidate: Gary Johnson.

Libertarian Gary Johnson Rejects Trump Positions on Immigration, Free Trade

June 23, 2016Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson said Wednesday he has issues with Republican Donald Trump’s positions on immigration and free trade, and will not be resorting to “name-calling” during his campaign.

Johnson spoke along with his running mate in a CNN town hall event, the type of national platform that is common for Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton but rare for a third party like the Libertarians.

The party is in some ways a hybrid of the two that dominate U.S. politics, and with polls showing large numbers of potential voters holding negative views of the Trump and Clinton, Johnson is looking to be an alternative on November 8.

“Fiscally conservative, socially accepting, tolerant.  Look, people should be able to make choices in their own lives,” he said when asked to explain his party.  “From a military intervention standpoint, we’re not isolationists in any way whatsoever, but we’re non-interventionist.  We don’t want to get involved in other countries’ affairs.”

Johnson said Trump’s proposal to build a wall across the U.S.-Mexican border “borders on insanity.”  He also advocated making it “as easy as possible” for those who want to come to the United States to work to get a work visa with a background check and a Social Security card that ensures they pay taxes.

“They are not taking jobs that U.S. citizens want,” he said.  “They are hardworking individuals.  The reason for the 11 million illegal immigrants is because there are jobs that exist in this country and they can’t get across the border legally, so they cross illegally.”

Weld criticized Trump’s suggestion in April that Japan and South Korea should have nuclear weapons and his frequent promises to change economic relationships with China and Mexico.

“The notion of having Japan and South Korea have access to nuclear weapons is crazy in a world when nuclear proliferation is the number one threat to the security of the world,” Weld said.  “The notion that he’s going to impose huge penalties on Mexico and China at will violates our obligations under treaties and international agreements like the World Trade Organization.  You cannot be president of the United States and talk like that.”

Johnson also distanced himself from Trump’s charge that Clinton is corrupt, saying “That is not a view that I would embrace.”

While the Libertarians enjoyed national exposure with Wednesday’s event, they still face a challenge in getting an equal place with the Democrats and Republicans before the election.  The important presidential debates that begin in September require a candidate to have 15 percent support in five national polls in order to participate.

A CNN/ORC poll released Tuesday showed Clinton with the support of 42 percent of registered voters, Trump with 38 percent, Johnson with 9 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein with 7 percent.  A Monmouth University poll had a similar spread. http://www.voanews.com/content/libertarian-gary-johnson-rejects-trump-positions-on-immigration-free-trade/3388624.html

Notice also the following about Gary Johnson:

Johnson’s views have been described as fiscally conservative and socially liberal with a philosophy of limited government and military non-interventionism. He has identified as a classical liberal. Johnson has said he favors simplifying and reducing taxes. During his governorship, Johnson cut taxes fourteen times and never increased them. Due to his stance on taxes, political pundit David Weigel described him as “the original Tea Party candidate.” Johnson has advocated for the FairTax, a proposal which would abolish all federal income, corporate and capital gains taxes, and replace them with a 23% tax on consumption of all non-essential goods, while providing a regressive rebate to households according to income level. He has argued that this would assure transparency in the tax system and incentivize the private sector to create “tens of millions of jobs.”Johnson supports the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Johnson has said that he supports balancing the federal budget immediately. He has stated he supports “slashing government spending”, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, which would involve cutting Medicare and Medicaid by 43 percent and turning them into block grant programs, with control of spending in the hands of the states to create, in his words, “fifty laboratories of innovation.”He has advocated passing a law allowing for state bankruptcy and expressly ruling out a federal bailout of any states.  Johnson has expressed opposition to the Federal Reserve System, which he has cited as massively devaluing the strength of the U.S. dollar, and would sign legislation to eliminate it. He has also supported an audit of the central bank, and urged Members of Congress in July 2012 to vote in favor of Ron Paul’s Federal Reserve Transparency Act.

In his campaign for the Libertarian Party nomination, he stated he opposed foreign wars and pledged to cut the military budget by 43 percent in his first term as president. He would cut the military’s overseas bases, uniformed and civilian personnel, research and development, intelligence, and nuclear weapons programs. He has stated his opposition to US involvement in the War in Afghanistan and opposed the US involvement in the Libyan Civil War.

Johnson is a strong supporter of civil liberties and received the highest score of any candidate from the American Civil Liberties Union for supporting drug decriminalization while opposing censorship and regulation of the Internet, the Patriot Act, enhanced airport screenings, and the indefinite detention of prisoners. He has spoken in favor of the separation of church and state, and has said that he does not “seek the counsel of God” when determining his political agenda.Johnson endorsed same-sex marriage in 2011;  he has since called for a constitutional amendment protecting equal marriage rights, and criticized Obama’s position on the issue as having “thrown this question back to the states.” On the other hand, Johnson opposes Roe v. Wade, believing states should decide the matter. He has been a longtime advocate of legalizing marijuana and has said that if he were president, he would remove it from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act as well as issue an executive order pardoning non-violent marijuana offenders(Gary Johnson. On many of those issues, Gary Johnson is clearly opposed to Hillary Clinton. As far as trade goes, consider reading the article WTO/TTIP and the Babylonian Beast.

It would have seemed that this election cycle would have been more favorable towards libertarians than it was.  However, with the failed campaign of Rand Paul (a sort of libertarian), parts of the libertarian message did not resound with much of the Republican primary voters this time.

Yet, because of the seemingly growing distrust/dislike of voters towards Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, we may see the most votes ever for a Libertarian party presidential candidate. Therefore, Gary Johnson’s presence may affect the outcome of this election.

Despite Hillary Clinton’s and Donald Trump’s flaws, Gary Johnson is not the answer for the USA. While I like his views on some subjects, his views of the homosexual marriage and others matters (e.g. he is not married to his female partner) should make it clear he is not a Christian.

The USA needs the Kingdom of God, and none of its major candidates will save it from the coming Great Tribulation.
