CBS: ‘Trump paints apocalyptic picture of racial tensions in U.S.’

Donald Trump made some statements related to racial tensions and recent shootings in the USA today. CBS reported the following:

Trump paints apocalyptic picture of racial tensions in U.S.

WESTFIELD, Ind. — Racial tensions were on Donald Trump’s mind on Wednesday, as he painted an apocalyptic picture of civil unrest in the U.S. at a rally here. But first, he hurled an incendiary accusation at his presumptive opponent in the general election, Hillary Clinton.

“And we created ISIS,” Trump said to a crowd of thousands. “And Hillary Clinton through her incompetence, directly and indirectly, created ISIS. And now she wants to get rid of it.”

Then came a detour:

“She is the one that created it. And that’s what’s happened and so now we have problems all over the place. We have our cities exploded. We have ISIS looking at us,” Trump said. “And by the way, when our enemies all over the world, including our friends all over the world, look at what’s happening to our country – where the other night, you had 11 – think of it – 11 cities potentially in a blow-up stage. Marches all over the United States. And tough marches. Anger, hatred, hatred – started by a maniac that some people asked for a moment of silence for him. For the killer. For the killer.” …

“When somebody called for a moment of silence for this maniac that shot the five police, and you know, you just see what’s going on,” Trump said to Fox anchor Bill O’Reilly. “And it’s a very, very sad situation.”

And then again later in the interview, when Trump was asked whether the “Black Lives Matter” movement was helping or hurting the United States, Trump said it was “dividing America” and followed with, “I saw what they said about the police in various marches and rallies. I have seen, you know, moments of silence called for – for this horrible human being who shot the policeman. And I, you know, I have seen it and I think it’s certainly – it’s very divisive and I think they are hurting themselves.” …

Trump, who has been referring to himself as the “law-and-order candidate,” was more expansive he has been so far in comments on the fatal shootings of Philando Castile in Minnesota and Alton Sterling in Louisiana, both at the hands of police.

“We have to stay together and we have to be strong,” Trump said. “We have to take care of everyone. The two people that were killed in Louisiana and Minnesota – it was tough. It was tough to watch. For everybody here, it was tough to watch. We have to figure it out.”

In his conversation with O’Reilly, Trump’s criticism of the officers involved in the shootings turned scathing.

“I thought it was a terrible, disgusting performance that I saw,” Trump said, remarking that he didn’t know whether the shooting was caused by a lack of training or whether “they got scared or nervous.” http://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-paints-apocalyptic-picture-of-racial-tensions-in-u-s/

The Associated Press reported about a study today that found that many young adults see Donald Trump as a racist:

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump is wildly unpopular among young adults, in particular young people of color, and nearly two-thirds of Americans between the ages of 18 and 30 believe the presumptive Republican nominee is racist.

That’s the finding of a new GenForward poll that also found just 19 percent of young people have a favorable opinion of Trump compared to the three-quarters of young adults who hold a dim view of the New York billionaire.

But it is not just Donald Trump who is being accused. Someone filed a lawsuit against various leaders for inciting racial tensions:

Activist lawyer Larry Klayman has filed a complaint in federal court accusing President Obama, Louis Farrakhan, Eric Holder, Al Sharpton and Black Lives Matter leaders of inciting their supporters “to engage in threats of and attacks to cause serious bodily injury or death upon police officers, Jews, and Caucasians.”

The action filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas follows the sniper attack on police officers in Dallas in which five died and seven more were injured.

Klayman, a former prosecutor for the Department of Justice, founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, and a former U.S. Senate candidate in Florida, filed as lead plaintiff.

“It’s time that law enforcement, such as the plaintiffs in this case, including myself, come forward by peacefully attempting to use the legal system to redress the incitement, threats and killings provoked by the defendants in this class action case,” Klayman said at the filing.

“I am hopeful that I will be joined by other law enforcement to join in the suit. For too long, law enforcement and others, including white and non-white Jews and Christians, have remained silent, scared to speak and act, for fear of being branded racists over the fear of being threatened and harmed by the defendants and their accomplices. This must stop and justice must be done to preserve the integrity of our great nation and to avoid an all out race war that will destroy the freedom that our Founding Fathers dedicated their sacred honor, their fortunes and risked their lives for,” he said.

Sadly, many politicians and leaders have ‘played the race card’ in ways to fan racial tensions. And yes, I include people like Hillary Clinton in that as well.

As far as race goes, notice the following from the Statement of Beliefs of the Continuing Church of God:

LOVE AND SALVATION FOR ALL RACES AND PEOPLES

Racial hatred is wrong. While there can be racial differences, the Bible does not teach that one race is superior in His eyes to any other. The Bible commands all humankind to love their neighbors as themselves (Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 22:39; Acts 17:24-29). Jesus came to bring joy to all peoples (Luke 2:10). The Bible shows that salvation is now freely offered to both Jews and Gentiles (Acts 10:34-35; Romans 10:12-13; cf. Joel 2:32) and that God intends to save people “of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues” (Revelation 7:9). Christian love should be shown to people of all ethnicities (Romans 13:10; Luke 10:30-37). “Our God is the God of salvation” (Psalm 68:20) “And all flesh shall see the salvation of God” (Luke 3:6).

God has a plan so that all can be saved, irrespective of race. God is NOT a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34, KJV).

How are we saved?

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

God’s Word shows that God loves everyone (John 3:16-17). God also commands all mankind to love their neighbors as themselves (Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 22:39; Acts 17:24-29). Jesus came to bring joy to all peoples (Luke 2:10)–this is not limited to one race or group. God’s Word shows that salvation is now freely offered to both Jews and Gentiles (Acts 10:34-35; Romans 10:12-13; cf. Joel 2:32) and that God intends to save people “of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues” (Revelation 7:9).

Not only can all be saved, prior to the age to come, God will save some people of all races.

But what about CBS’ comment that Donald Trump is painting “an apocalyptic picture of civil unrest in the U.S.”?

Well, the reality is that I have long expected civil unrest in the U.S. as a precursor to the apocalypse (being defined for this purpose as the start of the Great Tribulation). Here are some quotes that were posted on this news page:

Specifically, I expect violent protests in the USA, UK, and Canada (Thiel B. John Meakin: London Riots: ‘Erosion of Morality’? Church of God News, August 18, 2011)

I expect both class riots and race riots in the USA (Thiel B. More Violent Unrest in London. Church of God News, August 9, 2011)

Many are upset that a Grand Jury concluded that no charges needed to be brought against the white police officer who shot the black Michael Brown. Many believe that shooting was racially motivated, which if it was (and I have my doubts that it was) that would, of course, be wrong. … I expect more civil unrest in the USA in the future. (Thiel B. I do expect more serious and severe civil unrest in the future.

I believe that there are people who want to make issues of police behavior racial issues when they were not racial issues. Some people bring up race to incite protests and even violence–they play the ‘race card’ for what they perceive to be their personal and/or political benefit. And of course, there are profiling and other racial things that the police do, despite their official denials. (Thiel B. NYC protests Garner death; Cleveland police found to use excessive force. Of course, others have seen that racial tensions would continue. Notice something from the old Radio Church of God from 1966:

Bloody race riots continue to break out in large cities across the nation. “BLACK POWER!” is chanted by Negro mobs — and massive demonstrations by angered whites retaliate shouting, “White power!”
And nowhere, it seems, is there any more violence than right in the midst of the greatest “CHRISTIAN” nation on earth!
Why? What’s wrong? Why so much HATE in the world?
The world today is PREOCCUPIED with hate, rebellion, and VIOLENCE.
Television is FILLED with lawlessness, crime, and murder. “Westerns” glamorize outlaws, and “shoot-’em-ups” are among the most popular TV programs for all ages.
Frustrations mount, tempers flare, tensions increase, and LAWLESSNESS and VIOLENCE spread like a sick, sick contagion!
The greatest mass-murders in all history were perpetrated during World War II. But again — WHY? How could one man, Adolf Hitler, arouse such hate and passion in the minds of his followers that they could calmly murder HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS — MILLIONS?
The world still wonders. People STILL ask why. But Hitler knew some demoniacal quirks of human nature. He knew of the seething violence just underneath many a human mind.
Hitler understood. He knew HATE will get one a bigger following than Love. VIOLENCE will attract more attention than peace. INTRIGUE makes a more exciting news headline than harmony; SUSPICION will attract more interest than confidence.
And, in a sense, entertainers, actors, producers, script-writers, and sponsors also recognize these pulls of human nature. And they use those pulls to their own financial advantage.
Hate, violence, illicit sex and perversion make “good” newspaper copy, “good” television script, “good” movie plots. Good? Well, no — not actually; but these evil attributes, actions or implied actions draw more public attention.
And it’s because all of it is so much like HUMAN NATURE. It’s time you understood the TRUTH about human nature, what it is, how it works — and WHY the eruption of violence around the world is due to unguided; misdirected, HUMAN NATURE let loose on a rampage!
Your Bible prophesied worldwide hatred and BIGOTRY would grip the minds of men during this time! More than ever before, people seem prone, today, to bestial acts of VIOLENCE!
And why? Because suspicion, hatred, bigotry, and violence are the steady diet of much of the world.
The apostle Paul was inspired to look beyond his time, down into ours. He portrayed the hostile, venomous attitudes of our peoples when he said, “This know also, that in the last days PERILOUS times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves [SELFISH, SELF-CENTERED as never before!], covetous, [LUSTING, COVETING, ENVIOUS of the things of others], BOASTERS, proud, blasphemers [and a CURSE is always ready on the lips of almost everyone, today — even popular entertainment figures, and government leaders!], disobedient to parents… FIERCE, despisers of those that are good” (II Tim. 3:1-3). …

Ezekiel Foretold It!

Foretelling these days of destruction and worldwide intrigue and trouble, the prophet Ezekiel declared, “Make a chain: for the land is FULL OF BLOODY CRIMES, and the city is full of VIOLENCE” (Ezek. 7:23).
When God told Ezekiel to “make a chain,” He implied that the land would be SO REPLETE, satiated with CRIME and VIOLENCE, that one crime would be following another, like the links on a chain!
And so it is!
And again, speaking of our nations today, Ezekiel records, “Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is EXCEEDING GREAT, and the land is FULL OF BLOOD, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not” (Ezek. 9:9). So it is! … among theologians, millions doubt the existence of God, there is NO fear of God prevalent in the land, and bloody VIOLENCE rears its ugly head in city after city! (HUMAN NATURE IS VIOLENT! Plain Truth, September 1966)

Racial violence has occurred throughout USA history and is still happening in the 21st century.

Expect worse racial violence in the USA.

While there may be periods of relative calm, do not expect true racial justice in the USA (or many other places) until after the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God.

Until at least the start of the apocalypse, expect to see flaring up of racial violence in the USA.
