Satan’s ‘Art of War,’ Trump Administration, and Iran
(
Notice the following about the Trump Administration’s attack against Iran:
Hegseth, Caine say US attack on Iran nuclear sites used ‘misdirection’ and decoys
June 22, 2025
The U.S. attack on Iran’s nuclear sites was a complex mission that used decoy bombers and “misdirection” to carry out the secret operation, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said at a news conference Sunday morning.
Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine, standing with Hegseth, said the mission was a “complex and high-risk mission” that was known to only a few people and relied on decoys to protect the integrity of the mission. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/hegseth-caine-us-attack-iran-nuclear-sites-misdirection/story?id=123091195

The US strikes on Iran’s key nuclear facilities inflicted “extremely severe damage and destruction”, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff Dan Caine said, adding that Washington had used decoy planes to surprise Tehran.
In a briefing with defence secretary Pete Hegseth on Sunday, Caine said the US had employed “several deception tactics” including moving some B-2 bombers to the Pacific Ocean to misdirect Iran before launching the strikes from different aircraft. https://www.ft.com/content/72d898ac-c18b-4884-ab94-0c21742d18e3
Yes, deception and misdirection were used by the Trump Administration for its attack last night of three Iranian nuclear facilities.
Consider that Jesus taught that Satan the devil was the father of lies and a murderer:
44 … the devil … was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. (John 8:44-45)
It may be that several in the Trump Administration have read Sun Tzu’s book The Art of War, which was likely written around the late Spring and Autumn period, roughly 500–450 BCE. It pushes deception as a tactic.
Iran has claimed that US assertions about the success of the operation were wrong:
22 June 2025
Iran’s Fordow nuclear site did not suffer any serious damage in the attack launched by the US, Fars news agency reported on Sunday, citing MP Mohammad Manan Raisi from Qom Province where the facility is located.
US President Donald Trump has claimed that the Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan nuclear sites were “completely and totally obliterated” in the American strikes overnight.
Raisi told the agency that “contrary to the claims of the lying US president, the Fordow nuclear facility has not been seriously damaged, and most of what was damaged was only on the ground level and can be restored.”
The lawmaker described the effect of the American bombing as “superficial,” stating further that there were no fatalities and no radiation leaks at the site afterward.
“This US aggression means that America is directly entering the war, and now it is Iran that determines how and in what way to respond to this obvious American stupidity,” Manan Raisi insisted.
Reuters reported earlier, citing an unnamed high-ranking Iranian official, that most of the enriched uranium had been moved from Fordow to an undisclosed location before the US strike. https://www.rt.com/news/620232-iran-israel-trump-fordow/
How much the USA damaged Iran’s nuclear program is uncertain.
Yet, some of what the USA has been doing is consistent with passages in Sun Tzu’s book The Art of War. Here are some lines from its first chapter:
18
All warfare is based on deception.
19
Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.
20
Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.
21
If he is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him.
22
If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant.
23
If he is taking his ease, give him no rest.
If his forces are united, separate them.
24
Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.
25
These military devices, leading to victory, must not be divulged beforehand.
That said, I believe that the Iranian leadership has also read read Sun Tzu’s book The Art of War.
Today, Iran said it retaliated against Israel for the attacks by the USA:
Iran confirms Israel strikes were in retaliation for US attacks
22 June 2025
Perhaps Iran will not further retaliate.
But, perhaps Iran simply wants to give the impression that it has retaliated and that its retaliation is finished.
If so, then I believe Iran is using some of Sun Tzu’s tactics.
Here is something from chapter 3 of Sun Tzu’s book:
17
(1) He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.
(2) He will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior forces.
I assert that Iran is waiting until it believes that the time for a massive attack is right. I do not believe Iran has given up on the idea of trying to damage and conquer Israel (cf. Isaiah 22:6-8).
That said, here is something from my book Unintended Consequences and Donald Trump’s Presidency: Is Donald Trump Fulfilling Biblical, Islamic, Greco-Roman Catholic, Buddhist, and other America-Related Prophecies?:
Despite its posturing and relative military strength, Iran will be somehow effectively neutralized (cf. Ezekiel 32:24). This could perhaps be from an attack involving Israel and/or internal civil unrest — this could also include electromagnetic (EMP) or similar weapons used against Iran (Jeremiah 49:34-39).
It is of prophetic interest to note that the small nation of Israel is prophesied to one day be attacked by some that seem to have a connection to Iran (Isaiah 22:1-14).
Iran may decide to strike out against Israel, and possibly Jerusalem (cf. Isaiah 22:7-8) if a Trump Administration and/or Israel takes actions it does not like.
Iran has weapons that can cause damage. Furthermore, the USA itself (as well as is the State of Israel) is vulnerable to EMP type attacks and items such as biological weapons, chemical weapons, terrorism, nuclear weapons, dirty bombs, etc. because of a conflict involving Iran, Syria, and/or others.
But should this occur, this would NOT be the final destruction of the USA. Prophetically, Iran would not end up faring well (cf. Ezekiel 32:24-25).
Iran looks to have what it needs to make a “dirty bomb” (conventional bomb with radioactive components) and perhaps even an atomic bomb (if it already does not have any) that perhaps it will use.
The situation regarding Iran remains something to watch for (cf. Mark 13:37).
