In a historic moment for German politics, the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) has surged to the top of every major national opinion poll this week, overtaking the long-dominant CDU/CSU alliance. For the first time since its founding in 2013, the AfD stands as the most popular party in Germany — a development many describe as a political earthquake.

AfD Tops the Polls

Fresh data shows the AfD commanding unprecedented support. A Forsa poll places the party at 26%, ahead of the CDU/CSU, while Ipsos puts it at 25%. Other national surveys mirror these findings, with AfD consistently ranked first.

A decade ago, the AfD was dismissed as a fringe, Eurosceptic movement that emerged during the eurozone crisis. Today, it is the central force in German politics. Analysts argue that this reflects not just the AfD’s growth but also a decline in public confidence toward the traditional parties that have shaped Germany’s postwar order.

Obstacles and Suppression Efforts

AfD’s rise comes despite years of state and institutional pushback.

Earlier this year, Germany’s domestic intelligence agency classified the AfD as a “right-wing extremist organization,” intensifying calls for restrictions and even an outright ban — an extraordinary step in a modern democracy. Party members have faced harassment, criminal probes, and relentless negative coverage in mainstream media.

Some politicians see the AfD as a risk, whereas others see that stifling it is not the way to go.

Though some have called for the AfD to be banned, remember that the German government tried to ban Adolf Hitler’s party (and even jailed Adolf Hitler for a time), and then finally was taken over by him and his party.

Last year, German leaders proposed a firewall to stop the AfD from gaining power (see also ZH: German Elites Call For “Firewall” To Prevent Conservative Governance After AfD Election Win).

Yet, the AfD continues to gain more support. Germans are changing. They are tiring of their leadership and hope that the AfD will be better.

Many Germans are concluding that their version of democracy is not solving their concerns.

Germany has an undeserved reputation for dour rationality and lacking an appreciation of the absurd. In reality, however, Germany is a – for want of nicer terms – very counterintuitive country. …If you happen to be the single most popular and perfectly legal political party in Germany, get ready to never be allowed to actually participate in governing. Because Germany is also a country in which that single most popular party – the Alternative for Germany (Alternative für Deutschland, commonly known simply as AfD) – is locked out of building governing coalitions. By definition.

That system is called a “firewall” – against that nasty most popular party that makes life so difficult for all those other, no longer popular parties. It has absolutely no basis in the constitution or in law.

Come to think of it, as the “firewall” systematically and deliberately treats the votes of AfD voters as somehow less effective than those of others, it may well be the “firewall” itself that is unconstitutional, at least in spirit if not even by the letter of the law. So much for Germany, the country that allegedly loves order and rules.

In reality, the “firewall” amounts to a dirty political cartel and a form of disenfranchisement: The traditional parties, feeling threatened by the insurgent AfD have simply decided that they do not care what the voters say and won’t have anything to do with it. Since German governments are virtually always based on coalitions, which means that the AfD and its voters are treated as inferior. That this means that, as of now, in particular voters in the former East Germany are subject to this kind of discrimination, adding a West-East aspect to it that sits very badly with talk about German unity.

To get one thing out of the way: For now, it is only one poll that shows the AfD in the lead; other polls still have it in (barely) second place after the mainstream conservatives of the CDU/CSU bloc (which, in reality, functions as one party) of soon-to-be chancellor Friedrich Merz. But these differences are irrelevant. What matters is that the AfD’s rising trend is unbroken. That is definitely a blow to Merz, even before he has officially assumed office, as international observers are noting. Especially in view of the fact that Merz’s own poll numbers are cratering at the same time.

Yet there is a broader point, too: The whole “firewall” strategy is malfunctioning extremely badly. Sensible observers have long predicted it, and now it is becoming ever more obvious: Freezing the AfD out only serves to make it stronger. …

A senior AfD leader, Alexander Gauland, is already more than confident: “It’s a natural law that we’ll be ahead of the CDU at the next elections,” he recently declared. That may be jinxing it. The AfD is, after all, much less unlike other parties than the latter like to pretend: The AfD as well may end up squandering its current good luck with infighting, for instance, over how to react to US President Donald Trump’s tariff attacks, which will severely harm Germany.

Yet there is no doubt that the traditional parties are doing their utmost to repel not only voters but even their own members. In particular Merz’s CDU is in barely contained rebellion: its members and voters are fuming at having voted conservative and yet being saddled with a massive deficit spending program. …

There is “massive” unrest among the CDU’s base of ordinary party members, and in Germany’s “East,” that is, what used to be the former German Democratic Republic, the CDU has decisively lost the last federal elections. The demand is to tear down the so-called “firewall” against the AfD and start collaborating with it systematically. It is symptomatic that this very local rebellion is making news all over the country.

“What a scandal! Opening the gates to the far right!” many will scream. Yet they have it all upside down: Disregarding the fact that, in reality, the CDU/CSU conservatives and the AfD mostly see eye-to-eye ideologically, one day, in the not so far away future, the AfD may well enter and perhaps even dominate a German government. The irony is that when that happens, those who have upheld the, frankly, moronic “firewall” will have only themselves to blame. Because the real question is not if the AfD will enter government in Berlin but how and, in particular, how strong. The stage is being set for a strongman to arise again.

I believe that the presence, statements, actions, and threats by US President Donald Trump is also giving people across Europe pause as well as a desire for a more forceful leader–one who acts less like a mainstream politician.

What will happen?

A reorganization is prophesied for Europe:

12 The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.  (Revelation 17:12-13)

The AfD is considered Germany’s anti-migrant party–and it asserts migrants have been a major factor in crime and less peace. The AfD’s influence has been growing as more in Germany have been supporting it in elections.

While the AfD has its own problems, its continued rise is demonstrating that Germans are becoming less tolerant of migrants and the status quo than many thought.

It objects to:

The AfD also asserts, “Now it’s time to change that. And that’s only possible with us.” Many are concerned that the AfD’s growing political influence will impact Germany. Can a strong man worse than Adolf Hitler, that the Bible calls the Beast rise up from Germany? Could Europe reorganize with a small backing to put this leader into place? Does the AfD want to make a deal with Russia? Will Germany make a future deal with Russia that would be opposed to the USA? Does the AfD want religion involved to meet its objectives in such a way that it could support the coming King of the North Beast power that the Bible warns will arise in Europe? The rise of AfD reminds some of pre-WWII Germany.

There is also something else going on in Germany, antisemitism. Wolfram Weimer, Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s cultural representative in the Federal Chancellery, is reminded of the conditions of the 1930s in light of the rampant anti-Semitism. Jewish artists “are no longer getting bookings”

Weimer speaks of DJs of Jewish faith who are not getting bookings. “Why? Because you’re Jewish. That’s pure anti-Semitism, and they experience it constantly.” This affects many Jews in the cultural scene: “Whether you’re a violinist, a singer, a DJ (…) – they’re no longer getting bookings. They’re not allowed on stages anymore.”

The Minister of State for Culture clearly stated: “And that’s a bit like in the 1930s: Jews aren’t allowed to perform here, Jews aren’t allowed in here.” This has “become the norm in Europe.”

Yes, we continue to see more parallels in the 21st century of pre-WWII Germany.

The Beast power will rise in Europe and actions against the AfD will not stop that from happening.

We are getting closer and closer to WWIII.

Dementia has been a growing problem. But researchers suspect that diet and exercise can play a preventative role for some:

Summary: New studies reveal that lifestyle changes—such as exercise, healthy eating, and social engagement—can help slow or prevent cognitive decline. Experts say this low-cost, powerful approach could transform dementia care and reduce its crushing toll on families and health systems.

An estimated 7.2 million Americans over age 65 currently live with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). That number is expected to nearly double to 13.8 million by 2060. These increases reflect more than demographic shifts; they point to a growing public health crisis that requires a new, proactive approach. While chronological age is the strongest known risk factor for cognitive decline, losing cognitive function is not an inevitable part of aging. …

Lifestyle risk factors like physical inactivity, poor diet, obesity, alcohol use, and conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, depression, and social or intellectual isolation are believed to contribute to cognitive decline. The authors point out that the same therapeutic lifestyle changes proven effective for reducing risks of cardiovascular and other major diseases may also help reduce cognitive decline – potentially with additive effects when multiple risk factors are present. …

These findings are similar to an earlier Finnish trial, the FINGER trial, in which participants with elevated cardiovascular risk scores assigned at random to a multidomain lifestyle approach experienced cognitive benefits.

“The data from both these landmark, large scale randomized trials demonstrate that lifestyle changes – previously shown to reduce heart disease and cancer – also hold transformative potential for brain health,” Hennekens said.

The researchers also speculated about biological mechanisms that may underlie these benefits. Physical activity, for example, increases brain-derived neurotrophic factor, which supports hippocampal growth, while also improving blood flow and reducing inflammation. Healthy dietary patterns like the Mediterranean and DASH diets can lower oxidative stress and improve insulin sensitivity as well as risks of cardiovascular disease. Quitting smoking may help preserve brain structure and white matter integrity, and regular social and cognitive engagement promotes neuroplasticity and mental resilience.

While dementia is much more common in older adults, hundreds of thousands of people are diagnosed with young-onset dementia (YOD) each year …

Most previous research in this area has looked at genetics passed down through generations, but here, the team was able to identify 15 different lifestyle and health factors that are associated with YOD risk. …

Low socioeconomic status, social isolation, hearing impairment, stroke, diabetes, heart disease, and depression were all associated with a higher risk of YOD.

The researchers described the relationship between alcohol and YOD as “complex”. …

Higher levels of formal education and lower physical frailty (measured through higher handgrip strength) were also associated with a lower YOD risk. This all helps to fill in some of the knowledge gaps around YOD.

“We already knew from research on people who develop dementia at older age that there are a series of modifiable risk factors,” said neuroepidemiologist Sebastian Köhler from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

“In addition to physical factors, mental health also plays an important role, including avoiding chronic stress, loneliness, and depression.” …

Ultimately, dementia may be something we can reduce the risk of by living healthier lives. …

Now, do not think because you may not be highly educated that you are doomed to have dementia.

Notice something that the Apostle Peter wrote:

17 You therefore, beloved, … 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. (2 Peter 3:17-18)

One does not grow in grace and knowledge without gaining knowledge. Growing in grace and knowledge not only helps us spiritually, but helps us be able to better help others and give love to make things better. Which is actually why God put humans on the earth (see also The MYSTERY of GOD’s PLAN: Why Did God Create Anything? Why Did God Make You?).

Peter also wrote:

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5-11)

Using your brain and growing in knowledge tends to extend the use of the brain and reduce the risk of dementia.

That said, it is not just young people who are increasingly getting dementia.

A report earlier this year came out warning about the growing risk of dementia in the United Kingdom:

Dementia risk for people 55 and older has doubled, new study finds

Dementia cases in the U.S. are expected to double by 2060, with an estimated one million people diagnosed per year, according to a new study led by Johns Hopkins University and other institutions.

Researchers found that Americans’ risk of developing dementia after age 55 is 42%, double the risk that has been identified in prior studies, a press release stated.

For those who reach 75 years of age, the lifetime risk exceeds 50%, the study found.

Women face a 48% average risk and men have a 35% risk, with the discrepancy attributed to women living longer than men. …

Aging is the biggest risk factor for dementia, with other factors including genetics, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, unhealthy diets, sedentary lifestyles and mental health disorders, the release said.

As diets become more synthetic and full of ultraprocessed foods, it is no surprise that the risk for dementia has also increased.

The USA, UK, and other places are at major risk. A study came out over a decade ago discussing the financial costs for dementia in the USA (see Dementia in USA), while another in 2015 pointed out its growing prevalence in the UK (see Massive dementia risk in UK; what about the USA?).  I would add that the personal costs to one’s life and how dementia affects a family are higher than the staggering financial cost. As far as the financial cost, it looks like one more burden that will contribute to the increased debt of the UK and USA.

Here is how one dictionary defines dementia:

de·men·tia (d-mnsh)n.

1. Deterioration of intellectual faculties, such as memory, concentration, and judgment, resulting from an organic disease or a disorder of the brain. It is sometimes accompanied by emotional disturbance and personality changes.

2. Madness; insanity.

According to dictionary.com the word dementia comes from a Latin word meaning madness:

Origin:
1800–10; < Latin dēmentia madness, equivalent to dēment- out of one’s mind (see dement) + -ia noun suffix.

While sports such as American tackle football contribute to dementia (see, for example, NFL admits nearly 1 in 3 players will develop cognitive problems), diet does as well.

While age is a factor, over consumption of processed carbohydrates and sweets and possibly protein seem to be a factor. Genetics are also a factor. An accumulation of advanced protein-glycation end products contribute to Alzheimer’s dementia.

I co-wrote a scientific paper related to cognitive deterioration and nutrition that was published in a major medical journal two decades ago.  Here is the ‘Abstract’ from that paper:

Individuals with Down syndrome have signs of possible brain damage prior to birth. In addition to slowed and reduced mental development, they are much more likely to have cognitive deterioration and develop dementia at an earlier age than individuals without Down syndrome. Some of the cognitive impairments are likely due to post-natal hydrogen peroxide-mediated oxidative stress caused by overexpression of the superoxide dismutase (SOD-1) gene, which is located on the triplicated 21 st chromosome and known to be 50% overexpressed. However, some of this disability may also be due to early accumulation of advanced protein glycation end-products, which may play an adverse role in prenatal and postnatal brain development. This paper suggests that essential nutrients such as folate, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, and zinc, as well as alpha-lipoic acid and carnosine may possibly be partially preventive. Acetyl-L-carnitine, aminoguanidine, cysteine, and N-acetylcysteine are also discussed, but have possible safety concerns for this population. This paper hypothesizes that nutritional factors begun prenatally, in early infancy, or later may prevent or delay the onset of dementia in the Down syndrome population. Further examination of this data may provide insights into nutritional, metabolic and pharmacological treatments for dementias of many kinds. As the Down syndrome population may be the largest identifiable group at increased risk for developing dementia, clinical research to verify the possible validity of the prophylactic use of anti-glycation nutrients should be performed. Such research might also help those with glycation complications associated with diabetes or Alzheimer’s. (Can Cognitive Deterioration Associated with Down Syndrome be Reduced? Despite that paper being published, relatively few have or will utilize proper nutrition, and most who consider nutritional interventions use synthetic substitutes, which are not proven to be effective. The field of mainstream nutrition reminds me of religion in the sense that most are satisfied with false religion that does not lead to eternal life as opposed to the true religion that does.

Anyway, as far as dementia goes, it seems to be a prophesied curse from a biblical perspective:

15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

16 “Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country…

28 The Lord will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of heart. (Deuteronomy 28:15-16, 28)

Note: I am not saying that all who get dementia have intentionally violated God’s laws, etc. But what I am trying to say is that dementia and costs associated with it are consistent with curses against a society that should know God’s laws but refuses to obey God. And we are seeing increases in dementia.

As far as diet goes, I would also add that I believe that proper fasting can also be a factor in slowing down the development of dementia.

NUUK/COPENHAGEN/BERLIN (own report) – Conducting war exercises in and around Greenland, several European NATO countries, including Germany, are demonstrating their opposition to the United States’ demand for annexation of the Danish island. President Donald Trump has repeatedly affirmed his desire to incorporate Greenland into the US and has not ruled out the use of military force. Several American intelligence agencies have initiated initial subversive activities to identify supporters and opponents of the United States in Greenland and to stir up some initial unrest. Following a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to Greenland’s capital Nuuk in mid-June, a German naval supply ship, ‘Berlin’ arrived there for the first time. Nils Schmid, Parliamentary State Secretary in Germany’s Ministry of Defence, also travelled there to convey the message that for Berlin, “the security of Greenland” is not just a matter of “lip service”. The exercises, led by Denmark, are intended to signal future EU support for preventing a US annexation. They are also part of a militarisation of the Danish island that is gaining momentum …

‘A strong signal’

Other European countries have now begun to back Denmark against the US, not only with words but also with military gestures. At the end of January, the chair of the EU Military Committee, Austrian General Robert Brieger, was already advocating the stationing in Greenland of troops from EU member states. …

‘Not just lip service’

In mid-August, Germany also made its presence felt in Greenland. On 16 August, the ‘Berlin’, a naval tanker supply ship, was the first ever German warship to enter the port of Nuuk. The official reason given was to conduct North Atlantic anti-submarine exercises. These involve manoeuvres to practise the prevention of Russian submarines from passing through the ‘GIUK gap’ (Greenland, Iceland, United Kingdom) into the North Atlantic, where they would be able to attack military supplies from North America to Europe in the event of war. In fact there was another aim: to demonstrate a military presence in Greenland. On 18 August, Nils Schmid, Parliamentary State Secretary in the German Defence Ministry, also arrived in Nuuk. Schmid went on board the Triton, a patrol ship of the Royal Danish Navy, which was moored there, to hold talks with Denmark’s Minister of Defence, Troels Lund Poulsen, and Greenland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Vivian Motzfeld. In a joint statement, they said that not only “stability in the Arctic” but also “the security of Greenland” and “solidarity with our allies” were “for us, not just lip service”.[5] A visit by German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius to Nuuk has been announced for September.

Manoeuvres without US troops

At the beginning of last week, several European NATO countries began military exercises in and around Greenland. The manoeuvres are scheduled to last until the end of this week. Troops from Norway, Sweden, France and Germany are taking part in ‘Arctic Light 2025’, a war exercise led by Denmark. A total of around 550 soldiers are reported to be involved. There are land, sea and air units from Denmark; a warship, tanker aircraft and a drone-equipped infantry unit from France, and primarily military observers from Germany. Donald Trump is shaking up a lot of nations. While he may think all that he does is good, or even great, the fact is that there will be many unintended consequences of his statements, threats, and policies.

He is pushing away allies and offending a lot of them. More and more are seeing him act as a bully–and the European Union is taking steps.

Donald Trump’s foreign policy statements have unsettled many—in the USA as well as foreign nations. He is believed by many to be more unpredictable than Richard Nixon. Many have rightly pointed out that he often acts as a bully.

Greenland

There is also something referred to as the “law of unintended consequences.” There are consequences for the USA, Europe, and elsewhere that have and will occur because of Donald Trump’s statements and actions.

Consider, for one example, that after his reelection, Donald Trump stated that the United States needed to have Greenland for defense and economic purposes. Not only did that offend the governments of Denmark and Greenland, the Danish government then announced that it would greatly increase the amount of money it would spend on the defense of Greenland.[i]

On January 7, 2025, Donald Trump refused to rule out military or economic actions to acquire Greenland.[ii] The next day, European leaders warned they would not tolerate an attack on Greenland and that the continent of Europe was strong.[iii]

Donald Trump then stated he would implement high tariffs against Denmark to try to get it to sell Greenland to the USA.

However, that overlooks the fact that the European Union has its Anti-Coercion Instrument, which is designed to stop a foreign power from trying to punish one EU nation. Because of that, analysts report that punitive tariffs against Denmark “could lead to unintended consequences” from the EU against the USA.[iv]

One longer term consequence of Donald Trump’s rhetoric may be that the Europeans could decide that Greenland would be a useful place to conduct surveillance on the US and Canada.

Additionally, it is also possible that Greenland could be used as a base to 1) interfere with US military satellite communications, 2) possibly neutralize some US military moves in Greenland, or even 3) a place to also launch an attack against the US, Canada, and/or even the UK. The Bible teaches about a great power who will be destroyed by its friends, who become enemies (Lamentations 1:1-2)—some statements by Donald Trump are pushing “friends” (NATO allies) into being enemies. …

The USA will be attacked by “friends” consistent with the following:

¹ How lonely sits the city
That was full of people!

How like a widow is she,
Who was great among the nations!

The princess among the provinces Has become a slave!

² She weeps bitterly in the night,
Her tears are on her cheeks;
Among all her lovers
She has none to comfort her.

All her friends have dealt treacherously with her;
They have become her enemies. cf. Lamentations 1:1-2).

Notice the one who was “great among the nations” will be conquered by friends, who will become enemies.

The USA was prophesied to be “great” in Genesis 48:19 and is considered by international sources to be great among the nations of the world today.[v]

European Union wants military independence from the USA

European Union wants to be militarily independent of the USA – check, European Union wants a larger military – check, European Union wants nukes – check, European Union wants this for defensive purposes –will Europe acquire a great army? The EU is accelerating its efforts to expand its global trade network with a wave of new partnerships, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Thursday.

“It is crucial for us that our companies continue to have access to the (US) market, and with the agreed all-inclusive cap of 15%, they will be in a very competitive position,” she said at a business meeting in Berlin, referring to the latest trade agreement with Washington.

“But we should also bear in mind that 80% of our trade with countries takes place outside the US.”

Von der Leyen said the EU aims to finalize a trade agreement with India by the end of the year.

“We are in discussion with South Africa, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates, and there are others,” she added, also citing recent trade deals signed with Mexico, Switzerland, and Mercosur—a South American bloc that includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

Trade Wars – and the Winner will be …

US President Trump imposed tariffs on a global scale. Those tariffs were imposed on friend and foe alike. It seems as if President Trump is no respecter of nations. But how will this work out for the United States? Will these tariffs result in other nations drawing closer together that have had rather cold, and even not so cold, relations in the past? Since January of 2010, I have posted that Saudi Arabia expressed interest in getting nuclear weapons or at least nuclear protection from Pakistan (see Pakistan’s Nuclear Weapons, Saudi Arabia, and the King of the South).

A deal this week points to at least some of that happening:

ISLAMABAD — Saudi Arabia and nuclear-armed Pakistan have signed a mutual defense pact that defines any attack on either nation as an attack on both — a key accord in the wake of Israel’s strike on Qatar last week. … the timing of the pact appeared to be a signal to Israel, long suspected to be the Middle East’s only nuclear-armed state, which has conducted a sprawling military offensive since Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel stretching across Iran, Lebanon, the Palestinian territories, Qatar, Syria and Yemen.

Israel did not respond to requests for comment. The pact marks the first major defense decision by a Gulf Arab country since the Qatar attack. The United States, long the security guarantor for the Gulf Arab states, also did not respond to questions posed to the State Department.

As US reliability falters, Saudi Arabia turns to a nuclear-armed ally

After Pakistan’s first nuclear test in 1998 landed it under international sanctions and diplomatic isolation, the country turned for help to a longtime ally: Saudi Arabia.

Khalid Mahmood, then Pakistan’s ambassador to Riyadh, requested an urgent meeting with King Fahd bin Abdulaziz. The Saudi monarch objected to the test, but nevertheless pledged to “support you more than you expect,” according to Mahmood. The very next day, Pakistan was promised $3.4 billion in Saudi financial support, funds that helped Islamabad proceed with a second nuclear test, the ambassador said.

That moment helped shape Pakistan’s role, in the eyes of many, as a de facto nuclear shield for the kingdom.

Pakistan is the only nuclear-armed, Muslim-majority nation, and also fields the Islamic world’s largest army, which it has regularly said is focused on facing down neighbouring foe India. Back in 2018, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia said his nation may have to get a nuclear bomb:

40 “At the time of the end, the king of the south shall attack him, but the king of the north shall rush upon him like a whirlwind, with chariots and horsemen, and with many ships. And he shall come into countries and shall overflow and pass through. 41 He shall come into the glorious land. And tens of thousands shall fall, but these shall be delivered out of his hand: Edom and Moab and the main part of the Ammonites. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall become ruler of the treasures of gold and of silver, and all the precious things of Egypt, and the Libyans and the Cushites shall follow in his train. (Daniel 11:40-43, ESV)

The peoples listed above are mainly located in North Africa and the Middle East. They are in Muslim-dominated lands and include the Arabs and some of the Turks. Cushites, interestingly enough, may include some in Pakistan. As I have reported here for years, there is a belief that Saudi Arabia made a deal with Pakistan to provide Saudi Arabia nuclear weapons whenever it needs them. Since the Saudis have money and Pakistan has nuclear weapons, this has long seemed like an arrangement of mutual benefit. At minimum, Pakistan may provide engineering and other technical support to Saudi Arabia if it develops a bomb on its own.

What about Pakistan?

As an Islamic nation, and since some of the descendants of Phut are shown as part of a failed confederation involving Egypt in Ezekiel 30:1-9 and this appears to be an Islamic confederation, it is likely that Pakistan, to a degree, may support the King of the South in Daniel 11:40–though probably not too closely. That will be a mistake. Pakistan may actually directly or indirectly temporarily support the final King of the South to the point that it may even provide some nuclear support (see Pakistan’s Nuclear Weapons, Saudi Arabia, and the King of the South).

Several years ago, Saudi Arabia announced an Islamic military confederation consisting of nations in the Middle East and North Africa, and without Iran (see ‘Saudi Arabia Announces 34-Nation Islamic Alliance Against Terrorism’ to Protect the ‘Islamic Nation’: Is the King of the South starting to form?). In November 2017, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia indicated he wanted more such military cooperation on ‘terrorists’ (see Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Salman pushing King of the South?)–which some Sunni leaders blame Shi’ite Iran for.

Iranian ambitions, as well as certain actions and policies of the USA and Israel, have been pushing many Sunni Muslim dominated nations towards a military coalition that will be led by the final King of the South.

There are more and more reports in the news about actions that seem to be leading to the formation of the power that will be led by the final King of the South.

‘Resilience factories’

Leading German defence start-ups enter ‘strategic partnership’ to expand AI-based warfare. They seek autonomy from US components and US finance.

BERLIN (own report) – Two of Germany’s leading defence start-ups are forming a “strategic partnership” to advance AI-based warfare development. The companies both aim at the greatest possible autonomy from US players in the field. The development of an “AI-based reconnaissance and response network” will, they claim, enable armed forces to “act faster, more precisely and more efficiently in combat situations and operate at greater distances than today.” Their weaponry will deliberately be “European in design”, according to both Helsing and Arx Robotics. Helsing is the most expensive German start-up ever, valued at twelve billion euros. Arx Robotics is also seen as a rising star in the start-up scene. Unlike legacy defence companies such as Rheinmetall, which typically have close transatlantic business links, the new start-up scene hopes to establish European, and in some cases even purely German, armaments production independently of the United States. …

For Europe, in Europe’

Arx Robotics, also founded in 2021, shares Helsing’s quest for autonomous production that can operate as independently as possible from non-European component suppliers. The start-up also says it has been careful to attract “exclusively European investors”. It is committed to ensuring that “the start-up’s supply chain is European”.[5] Arx Robotics manufactures mini-tanks, an unmanned ground vehicle called the ‘Gereon’, which weighs just under 400 kilograms. These robotic mini-tanks are primarily intended for use in the military “death corridor” along the front line between two armies. …

‘European design’

Last week, Helsing and Arx Robotics announced a “strategic partnership”. They aim to “develop an AI-based reconnaissance and response network for European defence.”[8] More specifically, the objective is to “digitize, network and AI-equip the previously highly fragmented and analogue land assets.” This should enable “armed forces in combat situations” to act “faster, more precisely and more efficiently, and at greater distances than today.” What’s more, the partnership is explicitly “European in scope”. …

Competitive advantages

Helsing and Arx Robotics are prime examples of the new German defence start-ups focused on “intra-European or German value chains” without US components, notes Franz Enders, the author of a recent study on the subject. “ 09/15/25 https://www.german-foreign-policy.com/en/news/detail/10114

The article mentions German-European military plans to “act faster, more precisely and more efficiently in combat situations and operate at greater distances than today.” Acting faster brings to mind the ‘blitzkrieg’ tactics Germany used in WWII. Notice also that the Europeans want their forces to be able to operate at greater distances than they do today. Think against places like the USA!

As long-time readers of this COGwriter Church of God News page realize, I have been warning since 2009 that the Europeans would rely on technology to get to the point that it could take over the USA, which a future European leader is prophesied to do per Daniel 11:39 and Isaiah 10:5-11.

Europeans continue to take steps to not only develop military technology, but to do so in ways that are independent of the USA.

But military tech is not the only way the Europeans are moving away from the USA, trade is another.

Why the European Union won’t hit China with the 100% tariffs that Trump wants

Donald Trump’s request for 100% tariffs on China is unlikely to gather the necessary support among European Union countries.

Donald Trump has thrown down his gauntlet: he wants European nations to impose 50% to 100% tariffs on China …

While Brussels voiced readiness to accelerate the phase-out of Russian fossil fuels, it pushed back rather decisively against the request for the three-digit tariffs.

“Any new measures to be announced in the 19th sanctions package will be fully in line with EU rules and procedures, notably the long-held principle that our sanctions do not apply extra-territorially,” said a spokesperson of the European Commission.

The European Union (EU) proposed a new strategic agenda with India that raises bilateral relations to a higher level amid calls from the United States to hit India with massive tariffs. …

But as the EU and the US align their policies against Russia on secondary sanctions for its war in Ukraine, the Trump reportedly called on the bloc to impose up to 100% tariffs on India.

However, the EU seems to have adopted a different approach in its new strategic agenda: lure India away from Russia’s orbit of influence through a trade deal and enhanced strategic ties.

“Now is the time to focus on reliable partners and double down on partnerships rooted in shared interests and guided by common values,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said.

“With our new EU-India strategy, we are taking our relationship to the next level.” …

An EU official said there might be advantages to a better relationship with India.

India is a “moderating voice,” … in forums, such as BRICS and the China-led Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), where New Delhi has a seat but the EU is missing. …

Europeans view India as a partner equally interested in preserving a rules-based global trade order. …

Speaking at the end of a summit of EU leaders in Brussels on June 27, they floated the idea of the EU taking the lead in forming an alternative to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the world trade body that has been in place since 1995.

Merz said the idea was in its early stages but could include mechanisms to resolve disputes, as the WTO was meant to do.

“You all know that the WTO doesn’t work anymore,” he said, adding that a “new kind of trade organization” could gradually replace “what we no longer have with the WTO.”

The German chancellor was referring to the near-total breakdown of the WTO’s dispute resolution mechanism.

It was former US President Barack Obama who first blocked appointments to the WTO’s Appellate Body — its top court for trade disputes — during his later years in office.

That blockade has continued under every US administration since, regardless of party affiliation, as successive governments have opposed WTO rulings that they argue undermine US national interests. …

The EU’s von der Leyen emphasized plans for a particularly close partnership with like-minded trade nations in Asia, referencing potential cooperation with the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). …

Trade liberalization without the United States

But can Europe realistically create a new WTO without US involvement? …

Jürgen Matthes, an international trade policy expert at the Cologne, Germany-based German Economic Institute (IW), expressed support …

“A formal EU application to join the CPTPP would be a strategically important move in several respects,” Matthes said. “It would send a clear signal to the US that its protectionism is isolating it, while the rest of the world continues to liberalize trade.”

Matthes also said this would create a “remarkably large trans-regional trade agreement,” involving major economies, “with the EU as the largest bloc.”

“It would cover nearly all continents. And maybe some African countries could be brought on board as well,” he added. … “The goal is to form a strategic trade alliance that addresses today’s pressing issues in global trade — not only US protectionism, but also the massive market distortions caused by China’s subsidies, which current WTO rules don’t effectively address,” said Matthes. …

The EU’s dual message to both the US and China appears to be part of a deliberate communication strategy that has evolved since US President Donald Trump’s tariff war. …

Matthes envisions a new alliance under the banner of “Open Markets with Fair Trade.” In such a setup, “the US is out when it comes to open markets, and China is out when it comes to fair trade — unless things change under a new US administration or a reformed China emerges.”

He sees multiple advantages to this strategy. “We’d achieve more trade liberalization and gain access to new markets. Yes, Europe wants to dominate world trade. I also reported about this plan when EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen originally proposed it (see EU proposing to set standards for a new (or substantially changed) international trading organization).

The EU is basically, publicly calling for setting trade standards and a world trade system that does not have to involve the USA.

That is also consistent with something posted here back in 2018:

To avert a ‘trade apocalypse,’ Europe wants to rewrite the rules for international trade. That is consistent with warnings in the Book of the Apocalypse, more commonly referred to these days as the Book of Revelation. …

One of the ways that this Babylonian European power will be able to dominate world trade is by developing/writing/controlling many of the rules for international trade.

Europe is intending to do that right now! Europe will rise up as the leader in world trade. With 450 million in the EU, plus 150 million wanting in, and multiple other millions in Europe aligning with the EU, steps towards making Europe the end-time Babylonian trading entity of biblical prophecies are coming to pass.

Notice that the Bible says that all trading nations will have become wealthy trading with  end-time Babylon, the restored European Empire:

3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury (Revelation 18:3).

12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. (Revelation 18:12-13)

Trade

Historically, Donald Trump has called for “fair trade” and indicated that various nations, including several in Asia, are not engaged in fair trade, so he has proposed high tariffs.[i]

Donald Trump has called tariffs, “the most beautiful word in the dictionary” and even proposed massive tariffs (up to 2000%) on Mexico if it will not do what he wants.[ii] He has basically also proposed a minimum of 10% tariffs on goods from much of the rest of the world.

Some believe that Donald Trump’s positions on trade will lead to a global trade war.[iii] Europe has said it will hit back against Donald Trump’s tariff policies.[iv] It is my position that trade disputes will be a factor in Europe taking military action against the USA one day.

One of the unintended consequences of Donald Trump’s threats of tariffs and other trade matters is that it is motivating nations he has threatened to look to trade more with each other.

The morning after his reelection, I wrote:

According to the major media, Donald Trump won re-election. … Europe will get more serious about trade deals with others internationally, such as being more motivated to approve the trade deal with the Mercosur block of South America.[v]

On December 6, 2024, Politico reported that the European Union approved the massive Mercosur trade deal, despite opposition from France and others, and also pointed to Donald Trump’s reelection as a factor.[vi]

Energy and climate policy differences between the Europeans and Donald Trump look to increase the negative view many in Europe already have about the USA. …

Unintended Consequences

While Donald Trump seems to believe that his policies are best for the United States, notice some unintended consequences of them: …

• Pushing tariffs and sanctions on other countries is contributing to the rise of the final time of the Gentiles (Luke 21:24; Ezekiel 7:24).
• Pushing tariffs and other policies that foreign nations do not like is contributing to other nations looking to bypass the USA dollar, as well as trade more with each other and less with the USA. This will further push various globalist’s moves forward without the USA. This is also helping set the stage for the coming European Babylonian Beast to dominate international trade.

Trade Wars – and the Winner will be …

US President Trump imposed tariffs on a global scale. Those tariffs were imposed on friend and foe alike. It seems as if President Trump is no respecter of nations. But how will this work out for the United States? Will these tariffs result in other nations drawing closer together that have had rather cold, and even not so cold, relations in the past? Will global tariffs result in trade wars? Were the events which are happening predicted by any in the Continuing Church of God? Is Europe drawing closer to China? Is Europe drawing closer to Latin and South America? With the exception of a few of America’s allies, is the net result of these tariffs a worldwide scramble to create new alliances and new trading partners to the exclusion of the United States? What will be the future result of these new alliances? Many of the nations that are now seeking new alliances were just recently America’s allies. They were her friends. Dr. Thiel brings to light the fate of America and her allies at the hands of her former friends, as revealed in the book of Lamentations. As we rapidly approach the end times listen in as Dr. Thiel brings to light world events. Now, what about developing its military?

Many think Europe cannot rise up again as many think Europe is basically dead and would be shocked to see it rise again. That, too, was prophesied in the Bible:

1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:1-4)

People will marvel when the European King of the North Beast power rises up militarily and defeats places like the USA and UK.

Blitzkrieg tactics, deceit, and technology will be involved.

How do we know that this is a European power?

Let’s consider something from Daniel 11:23-24:

23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. 24 He shall enter peaceably, even into the richest places of the province; and he shall do what his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers: he shall disperse among them the plunder, spoil, and riches; and he shall devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time. (Daniel 11:23-24).

Consider that the German-European alliance was defeated in WWI and WWII. So, the father and forefathers of the final King of the North failed to defeat the UK and USA. But notice that he is prophesied to be successful against the strongholds, in this case meaning the military alliance of the USA and UK–and that is also consistent with Daniel 11:39:

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (Daniel 11:39)

The “he” is the King of the North. The two Hebrew words translated as “the strongest fortresses” in verse 39 do not appear together anywhere else in the Bible.

Something is, thus, unique here. As mentioned previously, Daniel 11:24 seems to parallel this as it teaches that the King of the North has plans against the strongholds and succeeds against the prosperous.

Notice also the following prophecies related to the beasts:

2 Daniel spoke, saying, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great Sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.   5 “And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh!’ 6 “After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it. 7 “After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.  (Daniel 7:2-7)

The “Great Sea” that bordered the ancient lands of Israel (Numbers 34:6-7; Joshua 1:4; 9:1; 23:4; Ezekiel 47:13-16) is the Mediterranean Sea–and that is the sea that Daniel was referring to. Despite some false claims by some, the Beast power is not a nation like Russia, which does not border the Mediterranean Sea, but Europe which does.

Other passages in Daniel, such as Daniel 9:26-27, also prove that this is a European power that will rise up.

Germany’s Great Army – Any Problems? WWIII?

At long last, from the perspective of the United States, Germany is stepping up to the plate and greatly increasing its military spending. The politicians in Germany have found a way to bypass the legal limitation on debt enshrined in the Basic Law. This is intended to enable them to develop the military and weaponry they feel is needed to protect themselves from potential threats. The Germans and 75% of NATO feel they have to take these type of steps because they feel the USA can no longer be relied on to help protect them militarily. Politico asked about Germany’s military rebuilding, “What Could Go Wrong?” Could this rebuilding be part of the rise of the “Fourth Reich”? If so, what would this mean? What were the first three Reichs? The so-called ‘Holy Roman Empire’ was the first. Imperial Germany of the 19th century was the second. Adolph Hitler’s Nazi Germany was the third. Can the rise of the fourth Reich be related to a revival of some type of the Holy Roman Empire? The Bible shows that the final King of the North will have a “great army” (Daniel 11:25) and “many ships” (Daniel 11:40). Could that be Germany, which is also working on many military technologies, including supercollider research? Consider, further, that the Bible tells of a power that had been unsuccessful going against a prosperous nation with a strong military before (WWI and WII?), but will finally succeed per Daniel 11:24 and Daniel 11:39. Could the next attempt be World War III and the end of the United States of America? Could the USA be the ungodly/hypocritical nation of Isaiah 10:7 that God says He will use the end-time descendants of Assyria to punish? Are there any prophetic and historic ties between ancient Assyria and the Germanic peoples of Central Europe? “Today marks a historic chapter in U.S. – United Kingdom technology collaboration,” Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said.

OpenAI said it will team up with British company Nscale and Nvidia to launch a Stargate UK project to boost the UK’s sovereign computing capabilities, as part of the tech pact.

The UK and the United States signed a trade agreement in June on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada. …

As far as Canada goes, despite differences:

Carney …. faced questions from Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet on the status of negotiations with Washington.

“Can he state today that he is confident that he can re-establish our privileged relationship of trust between Canada and the U.S. administration quickly, as the best way to put our trade relationship back on the right track?” Blanchet asked.

“Mr. Speaker, the Canada-U.S. relationship is good,” Carney replied in French. …

That said, Donald Trump has pushed Canada and much of the world away from the USA. Yet, Canada still wants to, and needs to, trade with the USA or its economy will collapse.

Australia is hoping that the various tariffs that the Trump Administration has imposed will increase its exports to the USA:

SYDNEY/WELLINGTON, Aug 1 (Reuters) – Australian products could become more competitive in the U.S. market, helping businesses boost exports, Trade Minister Don Farrell said on Friday, after U.S. President Donald Trump kept the minimum tariff rate of 10% for Australia. Trump set higher import duties of 10% to 41%, starting in seven days for 69 trading partners, …

“What this decision means in conjunction with all of the other changes to other countries is that Australian products are now more competitive into the American market,” Farrell told reporters in Adelaide.

So, there also looks to be increased USA-Australia trade.

Now, getting back to the UK, why did I write that the UK and USA would make a trade deal, which now has happened?

Recall that the Apostle Peter wrote:

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed (2 Peter 1:19, KJV).

This is the case with the Continuing Church of God as we do rely on the word of God for doctrine as well as prophecy.

A Belgian plan to challenge Europe’s courts on migration

A Belgian legal expert has urged European governments to nominate more conservative judges and revise key asylum rules, in an opinion circulating among EU capitals eager for greater leeway to deport migrants.

The paper, drafted 10 August and obtained by Euractiv, was written by Marc Bossuyt, a former president of the country’s Constitutional Court. Bossuyt told Euractiv he wrote it at the request of the office of Prime Minister Bart De Wever. Government officials declined to comment.

Last week, Belgian officials circulated the opinion to a dozen governments, including Germany, the Netherlands and Greece, as well as some other countries that earlier this year accused the European Court of Human Rights of overreach.

In May, Denmark, Italy and seven others — Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, plus Hungary who signed on later — issued an open letter, first reported by Euractiv, arguing that the Strasbourg-based tribunal had leaned too heavily toward individual rights at the expense of national security in recent rulings. …

The European Commission has already proposed new measures to speed up the removal of rejected asylum seekers. More and more in the EU want to reduce immigration and deport a lot of migrants.

Many are outraged by crimes associated with, mainly, immigrants from Islamic lands.

There has long been a desire in Germany and Austria to reduce the non-Germanic population.

Germany has between 800,000 to 1,200,000 Syrian migrants/refugees, to name just one predominantly Islamic set of migrants.

They all do not want to return to Syria.

Notice the following prophecy involving Syrians:

12 The Syrians before and the Philistines behind; And they shall devour Israel with an open mouth. (Isaiah 9:8-9, 11-12)

Syrian refugees are one potential problem–and the arrests in Austria are highlighting that. The Bible clearly is prophesying problems from some Syrians and some Palestinians.

Eventually, Europe will reach a breaking point and change.

The Bible shows that Europe will reorganize and a strong leader will emerge:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13, NKJV)

The final European Beast leader, who is also known as the final King of the North, will ultimately promote his religion (Daniel 11:36-38; which will not be Islam, he will at first feign and claim a form of Roman Catholicism). He will make a deceptive deal with the leader of a confederation of peoples in North Africa and the Middle East (cf. Daniel 11:27; Psalm 83:3-8). The confederation will include Syria and Turkey, but Turkey will eventually back out of it and then support the European beast (for details, see Turkey in Prophecy).

Islamic migrant issues will be a factor in the rise of this Beast leader–the Bible shows that a European Beast leader will, after destroying the USA (Daniel 11:39), push against and overwhelm a power from the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43).

The migrant situation in Europe will be a cause for more civil unrest. Civil unrest leads people to look for strong, and often dictatorial, leaders.

We continue to see Europe moving towards its biblically-revealed role.

Last year, a movie was released titled Civil War, with the subtitle All Empires Fall. It is intended to depict a new civil war in the USA. Here is some of what Wikipedia reported about it:

From what I have been able to tell, that movie involves heavy military weapons, etc., as well as armed people. It also seems to include an alliance of states that probably would not align with each other in such a conflict.

Robinson billed the march as a demonstration for free speech, saying it was also held in defense of British heritage and culture.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk may have played a role in the crowd being as large as it was in the UK. I have seen reports stating that the UK attendance was grossly understated.

Is a new civil war in the U.S. possible?

The brutal assassination of the American conservative commentator Charlie Kirk has once again brought the possibility of a new civil war in the U.S. into public virtual discussion. The topic of a Civil War 2.0 is not actually new. Over the past few years, according to Google Analytics — especially in the days immediately following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump — terms like “civil war” have seen a growing search volume on search engines. In 2024, the year of Trump’s second election, the film Civil War, directed by Alex Garland, was released. In its backdrop, an authoritarian U.S. government faces three simultaneous secessionist movements.

We could say, therefore, that the signs of “civil war” have already started to occupy the American political and cultural imagination, which is truly significant. …

“THIS IS WAR”: Some Right-Wing Figures Call for Retribution Following Kirk Killing

Conservative activist and Trump confidant Laura Loomer sent a barrage of posts to her 1.7 million followers. In one, she called for the Trump administration to “shut down, defund, & prosecute every single Leftist organization,” adding, “The Left is a national security threat.” After Kirk’s death was confirmed, she wrote: “They sent a trained sniper to assassinate Charlie Kirk while he was sitting next to a table of hats that said 47.” It is unclear which “they” she was referring to. 

“More people will be murdered if the Left isn’t crushed with the power of the state,” Loomer added.

Even President Donald Trump blamed the shooting on “radical left political violence” in an Oval Office address Wednesday night.

Former White House staffer and current podcast host Katie Miller, wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, wrote on X that liberals “have blood on your hands.” And Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) went so far as to blame the killing on the Democrats. …

Andrew Tate, the British American masculinity influencer turned far-right culture warrior, kept his message simple: “Civil war,” he wrote. Anti-abortion activist and president of Students for Life Kristan Hawkins also invoked civil war and seemed to imply that Kirk’s killing was a result of his opposition to abortion. “We all know the work we do to protect Life comes at a cost,” Hawkins said. In another X post, she wrote: “This is a new civil war. One that we must fight with love to restore a Culture of Life.”

Chaya Raichik, the creator of the far-right Libs of TikTok Twitter account, quickly began sharing posts that were meant to show left-wing and progressive people, including many who aren’t public figures, celebrating Kirk’s killing. While I did now know much about Charlie Kirk (had heard him on the radio and seen him on the news a few times), I do not believe he would have wanted an actual civil war because of his death.

However, he did speak out against sexual immorality and aspects of the LGBTQ+ agenda. The man accused of murdering Charlie Kirk reportedly lived with a man who was trying to become a woman–a so-called trans person:

It would seem that Charlie Kirk’s more biblical stand against such things would be a motivating factor for the killer. While even Democrat Bill Clinton signed the ‘Defense of Marriage Act,’ which was supposed to prohibit homosexual marriages, nowadays pretty much all Democrats, as well as a lot of Republicans, in the USA condone LGBTQ+ relations, which the word of God opposes (Romans 1:18-32)–and the LGBTQ+ groups have grown in influence.

The Trump administration has sounded the alarm on what we’ve openly described as “civil terrorism” –  revolutionary left-wing political violence – following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. In a sign of urgency, the White House requested an extra $58 million in security funding for the executive and judicial branches, according to a Bloomberg News report.

Here’s the threat landscape:

• Kill-List Risks: Kirk’s assassination should be interpreted by America First leaders and thought leaders as the potential beginning of a sequential campaign of targeted political violence. The message is obvious: revolutionary armed Marxist radicals won’t stop at Kirk. 
• Overnight Federal Response: The FBI disclosed, as per Axios, that agents have opened investigations into leftist groups believed to have had prior knowledge of the attack. No names were released, but the admission marks a significant concern among investigators. Hence, the White House’s move to request $58 million security boost. 
• Organized Conspiracy In Kirk’s Assassination? GPS-based research flagged by analyst Tony Seruga suggests as many as a dozen co-conspirators may have been involved – raising the odds of a coordinated network rather than a lone-wolf incident. …

The Axios report did not provide names of the radical leftist groups under investigation in Utah. That said, there is a major divide in the USA: Both the left and the right are concerned about civil unrest and even civil war.

Jesus warned:

6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. (Matthew 24:6-12)

We are in the “beginning of sorrows” and we are more and more seeing “lawlessness” abounding as Jesus warned.

This world is filled with a multitude of causes, small and great, just and unjust. The prospects for success for many of these causes, however, are doubtful at best. Opposition or indifference to them is simply too overwhelming in many cases to permit the individuals and groups involved to achieve their goals. …

Rampant terrorism on the world scene will undoubtedly play its part in paving the way for prophesied end-time tyrants to assume broad “emergency” powers — as did Adolf Hitler and others through history.

Perilous times

The scourge of terrorism was predicted centuries ago in the pages of the Bible.

Jesus prophesied that conditions in the latter days would mirror the chaotic state of the earth in Noah’s time — an evil and corrupt world filled with violence (Luke 17:26, Genesis 6:5, 11). 

The apostle Paul also warned, “In the last days perilous times will come” (II Timothy 3:1). The meaning of this prophecy goes far beyond mere incidental crime.

“Make a chain,” cried the prophet Ezekiel , “for the land is filled with crimes of blood, and the city is full of violence” (Ezekiel 7:23).

Bible prophecies picture an end-time world filled with lawlessness, aggression and hate, a world split by factions and international disputes, an era of rampant, indiscriminate violence and murder inspired by Satan the devil, the original murderer (John 8:44).  (Stump K. The USA is deeply divided. It has politicized more and more.

Jesus warned:

25 … Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. (Matthew 12:25)

24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.  (Mark 3:24-25)

17 … Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. (Luke 11:17)

Notice that God inspired this to be written three times in the Gospels.

God normally seems to repeat something in scripture for emphasis.

The division is a BIG DEAL.

The end of the USA and UK is coming (cf. Daniel 11:39).

Instead of fighting each other, love is what is needed.

As Jesus taught:

37 … “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40)

27 “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. 29 To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. 30 Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. 31 And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.

32 “But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. (Luke 6:27-36)

Instead of true love, a lot of hate and anger has been displayed and whipped up.

Troubles are prophesied (Mark 13:8).

The time of Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7), also known as the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21), is coming and the USA and its Anglo-Saxon allies (including Canada) will be affected.

National repentance is the only way to prevent it, and that does not look likely. Though for the nation, the Kingdom of God is the solution, but first there will be a horrific 3 1/2 years.

Personal repentance, however, is still possible. Your personal future can still be much brighter than that of your country. Jesus, in addition to being the source of salvation, also offered physical protection to the most faithful (see Philadelphian Christian Great Tribulation Protection and/or watch Great Tribulation Protection).

Anyway, yes, my experience with AI programs, including ChatGPT, points to them being against Jesus Christ.

As far as rewriting the Bible goes, the group calling itself the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, PETA has problems with what it calls “speciesism” and the Bible. In an attempt to reduce biblical influence, it claims that it used ChatGPT in order to rewrite the first book of the Bible, Genesis. Anyway, do not place your trust or confidence in human-programmed AI programs, including ChatGPT.
