Ten reasons I will not vote for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump

Hillary Clinton Book JUNE 2016
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

COGwriter

Today, Brian Thiel and I just uploaded a new video titled: 10 Reasons Not to Vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton.

Various ones have stated because of their views on ‘social justice’ and/or religion that one should vote for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.

Let’s look at ten reasons I will not vote for either of them.

First, both of them have severe problems with the truth.

They are frequent liars.

Hillary Clinton’s actions related to Benghazi and her email scandals prove that she is a liar.

Donald Trump often makes brash and false statements that prove that as well.

Their dishonesty seems to be known by most Americans. A CBS poll found that “67 percent of respondents found Hillary Clinton to be dishonest, and 56 percent thought the same of Donald Trump” (Trump lies more often than Clinton. But Americans think she’s more dishonest).

While both have real problems with honesty, I would tend to categorize Hillary Clinton as a ‘first degree liar,’ as her lies quite often seem planned/premeditated. I would tend to categorize Donald Trump as a ‘second degree liar’ as his lies often do not seem to be as planned, but I could be wrong about that.

The Bible says:

8 … all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8)

Second, both promote the LGBT agenda.

Donald Trump has stated that he will be a “real friend” to the LGBT community as the CNN headline reported in June 2016: Donald Trump to LGBT community: I’m a ‘real friend’/).

Hillary Clinton is such a friend to that group, that as US Secretary of State she made promoting the LGBT agenda one of her top “priorities” (Clinton HR. Hard Choices. Simon & Schuster, 2014, p. 27). She also repeatedly promotes her advancement of the LGBT crowd.

Notice what happened, nearly four thousand years ago:

24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)

And why did it happen?

7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)

Homosexuality is a form of sexual immorality that involves going after “strange flesh.”

Why mention this in the 21st century?

Because God turned:

6…the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6)

Thus, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah were to serve as an example to those who would live as they did. Yet despite biblical warnings, many modern leaders are endorsing so-called homosexual “rights” and “same-sex marriage.”

The Bible teaches the following about certain sins:

26 … For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:26-32)

Notice also what it teaches about approving the actions of others that are sexually immoral.

Third, both have treated women horribly.

Donald Trump is an admitted adulterer whose current wife has been involved in pornography. He has also owned strip clubs.

Hillary Clinton has been repeatedly accused of hurting at least the reputations of those women who have been sexually involved with her husband, hence she seems to be malicious. Hillary Clinton also once essentially bragged that she got a pedophile found not guilty, when she believed he was.

Fourth, both are covetous.

Notice something on that related to Hillary Clinton and her apparent greed for money:

July 13, 2016

Hillary Clinton used her office as secretary of state to engage in making policy decisions, official acts of the secretary of state, to influence donors to contribute money to the Clinton Foundation,” said Jerome Corsi, a New York Times bestselling author and WND senior staff writer. http://www.wnd.com/2016/07/author-foundation-was-cornucopia-for-bill-hillary/#jeeeoHzqzIJ8FfAD.99

August 10, 2016

A new batch of U.S. State Department emails from Hillary Clinton’s earliest days as secretary of state in 2009 shows close connections between the country’s top diplomatic agency and the charitable Clinton Foundation that she founded with her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

Clinton … has long denied that donors to the charity, which funds humanitarian programs across the globe, had special access and influence at the State Department during her tenure there from 2009 to 2013.

Previously undisclosed emails released Tuesday by Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group and frequent Clinton antagonist, show exchanges of emails between her aides and officials at the foundation. …

The newly released emails are separate from the thousands of work-related emails that Clinton turned over to the State Department after she left office. http://www.voanews.com/content/new-emails-link-hillary-clinton-state-department-family-foundation/3459011.html

Hillary Clinton’s covetousness has also been apparent when she states that if elected she will take from some Americans to give to other Americans.

Here is something that Donald Trump said in his Nevada victory speech the night of February 23, 2016 about his own greed for money:

It’s hard for me to turn down money because that’s what I’ve done in my whole life, I grab and grab and grab. You know I get greedy I want money, money.

I’ll tell you what we’re going to do, right? We get greedy right? Now we’re going to get greedy for the United States we’re going to grab and grab and grab. We’re going to bring in so much money and so much everything. We’re going to make America great again, folks, I’m telling you folks we’re going to make America great again. …

You’re going to be proud of your president, and you’re going to be even prouder of your country, OK? http://qz.com/623640/i-love-the-poorly-educated-read-donald-trumps-full-nevada-victory-speech/

Notice that Donald Trump clearly is stating he is a greedy lover of money and that he is clearly also trying to appeal to the pride, greed, and love of money of American voters. Pride goes before destruction, and destruction is coming to the USA (Daniel 11:39; Habakkuk 2:2-8).

Regarding the end times, the Bible warns:

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

It has long been my view that both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are fulfilling those prophecies, so since from such people we are to turn away, how could I possibly vote for them?

Consider also something that a former US Ambassador to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations to the United Nations, Alan Keyes recently wrote:

Clinton and Trump both represent the self-idolatry of human will and power that is the besetting sin of our time.  http://www.wnd.com/2016/08/whom-should-we-trust-hillary-trump-or-god/#m7PwBT5txu0UV0wG.99

Fifth, they do not realize that their positions on Europe will cause problems.

Hillary Clinton has called for the Europeans to increase their military spending, while also being the one believed to be responsible for the ‘Asian pivot’ policy for the USA to focus more on Asia and less on Europe. She was also the US Secretary of State when the USA announced that it would rely on part of Europe’s upcoming Galileo ‘GPS’ for some of its military defense (see also European Technology and the Beast of Revelation).

Donald Trump has stated that the USA needs to decrease funding to NATO and that the Europeans need to spend more on their militaries (http://www.cnn.com/2016/03/21/politics/elections-2016-final-five-highlights/index.html).

Neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump believe that Bible prophecy shows that Europe will arise in the appointed time of the end, become a successful military power (Revelation 13:1-4), and that it will destroy the nation with the ‘strongest fortresses’ (Daniel 11:39), which is the USA.

Sixth, they do not realize the ramifications of their trade positions.

Apparently because of the rise of Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary and certain populist sentiment, Hillary Clinton publicly changed her position on matters of trade.

Donald Trump has made trade renegotiations a centerpiece of his election platform.

Many believe that errors in trade policy were the major factor in the Japanese attacking the USA and getting it involved in World War II.

The Bible tells of a powerful trade empire arising in the last days in Europe, called “Babylon the Great” (Revelation 18). It has long been my view that problems with trade and/or trade agreements will be a factor that will further turn Europe against the USA, and be a factor in the start of WWIII (see World War III: Steps in Progress and WTO Trade Deal and the Rise of the European Beast Power).

And this leads to my next point.

Seventh, they are not biblical Christians.

Not only do they not have a proper understanding of biblical prophecies, they also not seem to understand much about real Christianity.

Furthermore, Hillary Clinton thinks that she should be able to get religion changed to conform to her image.

April 24, 2015

Clinton, after discussing the pressing social justice issues of domestic violence and women’s reproductive health, said:

Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/progressivesecularhumanist/2015/04/hillary-clinton-religious-beliefs-must-be-changed-to-achieve-social-justice/#sthash.u8Q6OrVv.dpuf

She wants religious views changed so that people will embrace abortion, the LGBT agenda, and other immoral positions that Christians should condemn. Her advocacy views are not Christian.

As far as Donald Trump goes, he is not either. Consider:

July 18, 2015

Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.

“I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don’t think so,” he said. “I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t.”

Trump said that while he hasn’t asked God for forgiveness, he does participate in Holy Communion. http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/18/politics/trump-has-never-sought-forgiveness/

The Bible says you are to repent, accept Jesus, and be baptized (Acts 2:38) and walk as Jesus walked (1 John 2:6).

Neither meets the biblical criteria for being a Christian.

Eighth, neither meets the biblical criteria for proper leadership.

Let’s look at some of what the scriptures teach are to be traits of godly leaders:

19 Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God. 20 And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do. 21 Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. (Exodus 18:19-21)

2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me,
And His word was on my tongue.
3 The God of Israel said,
The Rock of Israel spoke to me:
‘He who rules over men must be just,
Ruling in the fear of God. (2 Samuel 23:2-3)

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump do not endorse His laws and statutes and do possess covetousness. They do not even advocate the Ten Commandments.

Ninth, I cannot vote for evil. Years back, I saw it written:

When confronted with the false dilemma of the democratic political process, many individuals settle for the “less of two evils” as a kind of compromise. … A vote for either evil is nonetheless a vote for evil. (Daily Reckoning, October 19, 2012)

Notice something from the old King James Version of the Bible:

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22, KJV)

I have proven to myself that both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump promote evil, so supporting them is not abstaining from the appearances of evil.

Furthermore, Romans 3:8 says it is not good to support evil.

Tenth, it is not my Christian duty to vote for either of them.

Various ones think otherwise (e.g. Donald Trump jokes his salvation is dependent upon winning the US presidency and Ethics professor claims that voting for Donald Trump is moral and essentially a Christian obligation–but what does the Bible say?).

Notice someone who tried to cite scriptures as proof Christians needed to vote in this election:

I take seriously the prophet Jeremiah’s exhortation to the Jewish people living in exile in Babylon:

“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare” (Jeremiah 29:7).

By way of modern application, I think Christians today have a similar obligation to vote in such a way that will “seek the welfare” of the United States. …

Some may feel it is easier just to stay away from this messy Trump-Clinton election, and perhaps not even vote. But the teachings of Scripture do not allow us to escape moral responsibility by saying that we decided to do nothing. The prophet Obadiah rebuked the people of the Edom for standing by and doing nothing to help when the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem: “On the day that you stood aloof, on the day that . . . foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them.” (Obadiah 1:11). http://townhall.com/columnists/waynegrudem/2016/07/28/why-voting-for-donald-trump-is-a-morally-good-choice-n2199564

First, let’s actually examine the two scriptures Wayne Grudem quoted.

Jeremiah 29:7 is not a command to vote. The translation of Jeremiah 29:7 he cited, the English Standard Version (ESV) says to seek the welfare of the nation and pray.  It does not say to get involved in worldly politics, but the command is to pray to the LORD on its behalf. That verse most definitely does not say to seek the welfare by doing something like voting. And voting for top leaders was not something that was being done at that time.

Trying to tie this in with voting is, in my view, totally and culturally indefensible.  No one, except someone hoping to find justification to vote, would try to read that in there. Reading the context also does not in any way suggest voting.

Also, the more literal translations of this say to “seek the peace” of the city (e.g. YLT, JPS) as opposed to its “welfare.” But either way this verse does not tell Christians that they should vote.

And what about Obadiah?

That was also not a discussion about voting. Praying, such as is mentioned in Jeremiah 29:7 is certainly not “standing aloof.”

The Apostle Paul made it clear that Jesus’ followers should pray for leaders:

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4)

Praying, not voting, is the morally good choice for me. And that is supported by both the Old and New Testaments.

Many do not really believe in prayer, but I do. We are to want God’s will, not ours to be done (Matthew 6, see also Prayer: What Does the Bible Teach? ). Many do not have faith that God will do what is best.

Furthermore, many forget that the Bible teaches that this is currently Satan’s world. The Apostle Paul made that clear when he wrote that Satan was “the god of this age” (2 Corinthians 4:4) and that Jesus came “that He might deliver us from this present evil age” (Galatians 1:4). This not now God’s age, and it will not be until after the return of Jesus and the establishment of the millennial portion of the Kingdom of God.

In summary, here are ten of my reasons I will not vote for Donald Trump nor Hillary Clinton:

  1. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are serial liars.
  2. Both support the LGBT agenda.
  3. Both have treated women horribly.
  4. Both are covetous.
  5. Neither realize that their positions on Europe will cause problems.
  6. Neither realize the ramifications of their trade positions.
  7. Neither are biblical Christians.
  8. Neither meets the biblical criteria for leadership.
  9. I cannot vote for evil.
  10. It is not my Christian obligation to vote for either.

This does not mean that neither of them have any helpful policies or ideas.

But a vote for evil still is evil. So, I will not vote for either, but am praying for both.

I also feel the same way about the Green party and Libertarian party candidates.
