BBC reported:

Is Russia going to war with Ukraine and other questions

13 April 2021

Sabre-rattling or preparations for war? Since mid-March, there have been many warnings from Ukraine and Western governments that Russia is massing troops in Russian-annexed Crimea and around the eastern Ukraine conflict zone. …

Is Russia preparing to invade Ukraine?

Multiple sources have reported large Russian military movements towards the eastern Ukraine border and into Crimea, which Russian forces annexed from Ukraine in March 2014. Many of these reports have appeared on Twitter, such as tweets by Jane’s intelligence information group about Iskander short-range missiles.

The Kremlin has not given details about the units involved. President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said moving troops across Russian territory was an “internal affair”. …

Why is Russia at war with Ukraine?

Russian-Ukrainian relations now are certainly hostile, but it is not all-out war. There are sporadic clashes on the front line. …

The conflict zone, known as Donbas, is mainly Russian-speaking and now many of its residents have Russian passports. President Putin says Russia will defend Russian citizens abroad, if they are seen to be at risk. …

There was large-scale combat in 2014, before a ceasefire in 2015. There have been some prisoner exchanges since then.

More than 13,000 people have been killed in the conflict. Ukraine says 26 of its troops have died in Donbas so far this year, compared to 50 in all of 2020. The separatists say more than 20 of theirs have died this year. …

Is Ukraine protected by Nato?

Not by treaty, as Ukraine is not a member. But Nato has close ties with Ukraine, which has received Western arms including US Javelin anti-tank missiles. So Russia knows that it risks provoking more Western military help for Ukraine. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56720589

NATO has vowed to back Ukraine amid tensions in the in eastern Donbass region. The Kremlin accused the US and NATO of turning Ukraine into a “powder keg.”

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg called on Russia to withdraw troops from Ukraine’s borders on Tuesday.

Stoltenberg’s comments came ahead of an emergency meeting of allied foreign and defense ministers over the conflict in the eastern Ukraine region.

“In recent weeks, Russia has moved thousands of combat-ready troops to Ukraine’s borders, the largest massing of Russian troops since the illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014,” Stoltenberg said at a news conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

Stoltenberg said Russian troops’ movement at Ukraine’s borders was “unexplained, unjustified and deeply concerning.”

“Russia must end this military buildup in and around Ukraine, stop its provocations and deescalate immediately,” Stoltenberg said. https://www.dw.com/en/ukraine-nato-slams-russias-troop-buildup-on-border/a-57183438

The reality is that Russia considers that Ukraine should be part of its territory and believes that at least a part of it should be now. Many in eastern Ukraine would prefer to be part of Russia.

Changes are going to occur in the relationship between Ukraine and Russia (see also Russia and Ukraine: Their Origins and Prophesied Future).

That being said, Israel365News reported the following:

Tulsi Gabbard warns: Biden to bring ‘Nuclear Holocaust’ with ‘burning flesh,’ A prophecy of Zechariah

April 13, 2021

Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard gave a terrifying warning during an interview on Fox News on Monday, claiming that a war with Russia is currently dangerously close. In the interview, she hinted at the use of nuclear weapons, invoking images that were disturbingly similar to prophetic descriptions of Gog and Magog.

When asked about the rising conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Gabbard said, “It is moving in a very dangerous direction, and the question for the American people is, ‘Are we willing to go to war with Russia on behalf of Ukraine.”

“We need to understand that such a war will come at a cost beyond anything we can imagine,” Gabbard said.

Her warning carries the weight of experience as Gabbard, a major in the National Guard, was deployed for a 12-month tour in Iraq in 2004 and again in Kuwait from 2008 to 2009. Gabbard is a recipient of the Combat Medical Badge and the Meritorious Service Medal.

“This is not going to be a war of ‘Okay, this is happening to someone else on the other side of the world. This is something that will impact me and you and every single one of your viewers and all of our loved ones.”

“This is a war that is not a game. This is a war in which there are no winners. This is a war in which you’ve got thousands of nuclear weapons that the United States has aimed towards Russia. Russia has thousands of nuclear weapons aimed towards us that could hit any town or city in America in less than 30 minutes and exact a cost on every one of us that would result in excruciating death and suffering beyond comprehension.”

“Flesh being burned from bones”

“Hundreds of millions of people dying and suffering, seeing their flesh being burned from bones. This is something you can’t even really imagine.”

Gabbard may be correct that it would be impossible for the average person to imagine such a scenario however this was clearly described by the Prophet Zechariah in reference to the pre-Messiah War of Gog and Magog:

As for those peoples that warred against Yerushalayim, Hashem will smite them with this plague: Their flesh shall rot away while they stand on their feet; their eyes shall rot away in their sockets; and their tongues shall rot away in their mouths. Zechariah 14:12

Another unique aspect of nuclear war referred to by Gabbard was as being massively destructive while being unnaturally swift in nature, with missiles crossing oceans and continents far faster than even the most advanced warplanes. This too was described by the prophets who described the War of Gog and Magog as being an unusually short war. A tradition from the Vilna Gaon (a prominent 18th century Torah authority) teaches that the war of Gog and Magog will last 12 minutes. According to a 20th-century interpretation, “A third of the world will die, a third will suffer from plague and a third will survive.” https://www.israel365news.com/189359/tulsi-gabbard-warns-biden-to-bring-nuclear-holocaust-with-burning-flesh-a-prophecy-of-zechariah/

No, this is NOT related to Gog and Magog. For details, check out the article: Ezekiel 38: For Russia & Iran in Our Day?

PCG reported the following in the May-June 2021 edition of its magazine:

In 2013, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych was expected to sign the Association Agreement, a major leap toward economic and political integration of Ukraine with Europe. But on Nov. 21, 2013, his government surprised the world by declaring that the deal was off.

What caused this last-minute U-turn?

The world discovered that days before, Yanukovych had secretly met with Putin. Putin had pressured him into breaking with Europe in favor of aligning with Russia.

Many Ukrainians were furious at the prospect of returning to Ukraine’s former master during Soviet times. Half a million protested in the streets for weeks, demanding that Yanukovych step down. In February 2014, the protests became violent, killing 67 people. Yanukovych fled the presidential palace and eventually went into exile in Russia.

Meanwhile, unmarked troops appeared in Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula and worked with pro-Russia militias to seize two airports, a coast guard base and numerous civilian government buildings, including the parliament building, over which they raised the Russian flag.

These were widely suspected and later confirmed as Russian Special Forces. But Putin’s government officially denied involvement.

On March 11, 2014, as Russian operatives grew increasingly aggressive in Crimea, the region’s supreme council announced that it would hold a referendum on whether the people of the region wanted to join Russia. But the referendum was not only constitutionally illegal, it was also essentially held at the business end of a Kalashnikov. …

prophecies in Ezekiel 38 and 39 discuss a “prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal” (Young’s Literal Translation). Meshech and Tubal are ancient names designating the modern Russian cities of Moscow and Tobolsk. And Rosh is a variation of an ancient name for Russia, as shown in Bible commentaries, such as the Jamieson, Fausset and Brown Commentary.

In his 2017 booklet The Prophesied ‘Prince of Russia,’ Mr. Flurry explains that the “prince” discussed in these passages is none other than Vladimir Putin. Mr. Flurry writes: “The use of all three names [Russia, Moscow and Tobolsk] shows that this is an individual ruler of all the peoples of Russia, from the west to the east. The reference to the cities of Moscow and Tobolsk helps us see how vast Russian territory is in these latter days. This giant swath of land indicates the prince will probably conquer more nations of the former Soviet Union.”

In the years since that was written, Putin has hammered several former Soviet territories and nations deeper into his control. And his forge is getting hotter.

Mr. Flurry explains that Putin’s leadership of Russia, including his reforging of the Soviet Union, shows that a time of worldwide trouble is fast approaching. It will be a catastrophe far worse than any during the 20th or any other century in history. But he emphasizes that there is also great hope welded into these prophecies. He writes that the fact Putin is now leading the nation proves that the most hope-filled event in mankind’s history is close. “Mr. Putin’s warfare is going to lead directly into the Second Coming of Christ. … Vladimir Putin is a sign, literally a sign, that Jesus Christ is about to return!” he writes. “This is one of the most inspiring messages in the Bible.

While it is true that in 2013, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych was expected to sign the Association Agreement with Russia, there is NO POSSIBLE WAY THAT VLADIMIR PUTIN is the prophesied ‘prince of Rosh’ as PCG has insisted.

Both PCG and I365 are wrong about the timing of Ezekiel 38–for details on that, check out the article: Ezekiel 38: For Russia & Iran in Our Day?  For more on PCG, check out the article: PCG: Teachings Unique to the Philadelphia Church of God.

That being said, yes, Russia has interest in at least a portion of Ukraine. As I have written for years, I believe at least part of the Ukrainian territory will align with Russia.  See also Russia and Ukraine: Their Origins and Prophesied Future.

Might the U.S.A. Be Gone by 2028? Are there prophetic reasons to believe that the USA will not last two complete presidential terms? Yes. There is a tradition attributed to the Hebrew prophet Elijah that humanity had 6,000 years to live before being replaced by God’s Kingdom.
