The proposals include giving Israel the green light to annex settlements in the West Bank, the largest part of the territories the Palestinians see as their future state. …

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, compared Trump’s proposals to regulations in place during his country’s apartheid period.

February 9, 2020: Abbas’ Fatah party posted a video on their Official Facebook page threatening US President Trump to take his deal and “roll it up… put it in the center and shove it up your …”. The poem also threatened to blind the US President and that Palestinians will launch a war that “only Allah will be able to extinguish” if Trump continues to promote his peace plan. …

“We’ll redeem Palestine with blood… Over our dead bodies, we won’t let it pass, and if you want to overstep my limit, Trump, we’ll blind you; and if you want war – we’ll declare it and only Allah will be able to extinguish it. We’ll drive your Israel crazy and turn it upside-down. Within Israel, the Trump plan has been endorsed by the current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his chief political rival Benny Gantz (‘Trump Unveils Mideast Peace Plan’) and some other Israeli politicians (e.g. BIN: ‘Trump’s Peace Deal is Akin to Decree of King Cyrus Paving Path For Third Temple’ says Israeli Politician).

The deal itself is complicated and looks difficult to implement. Here is the official Vision for Peace Conceptual Map that the Trump Administration released related to its plan:

There are underground tunnels to connect the lands designated for the Palestinians, and many see that as a problem. It also gives the Palestinians the right to have a capital in East Jerusalem. Yet, the Palestinians do not believe that the deal treats them well, and there are specifics in the plan that seem to put them on a type of probation–which they also seemingly do not like.

At least partially because of the plan, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to begin formal annexation of certain lands that the Palestinians want:

JERUSALEM – Israel has begun to draw up maps of land in the occupied West Bank that will be annexed in accordance with U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday.

“We are already at the height of the process of mapping the area that, according to the Trump plan, will become part of the state of Israel. It won’t take too long,” Netanyahu said at an election campaign rally in the Maale Adumim settlement.

Netanyahu said the area would include all Israeli settlements and the Jordan Valley — territory that Israel has kept under military occupation since its capture in the 1967 Middle East war but that Palestinians want in a future state.

“The only map that can be accepted as the map of Palestine is the map of the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital,” said Nabil Abu Rdainah, spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Prospects for annexations, which have already been widely condemned, are unclear.

Election in March

Israel will hold a national election on March 2 and Netanyahu, who is facing criminal corruption charges, is hoping to win a fifth term in office. He presently heads a caretaker government, whose legal authority to annex territory is still undecided by judicial authorities.

Settlers make up part of Netanyahu’s right-wing voter base and many members of his coalition cabinet view the West Bank as the biblical heartland of the Jewish people.

Most countries consider Israeli settlements on land captured in war to be a violation of international law. Trump has changed U.S. policy to withdraw such objections.

Palestinians say the settlements make a future state nonviable. Israel cites security needs as well as biblical and historical ties to the land on which they are built.

Two-state plan, with conditions

Trump’s plan envisages a two-state solution with Israel and a future Palestinian state living alongside each other, but it includes strict conditions that Palestinians reject.

The blueprint gives Israel much of what it has long sought, including U.S. recognition of settlements and Israeli sovereignty over the Jordan Valley.

Trump’s Deal of the Century and Daniel 9 27?

On January 28, 2020, the Trump Administration revealed its Mideast peace plan, which Donald Trump has referred to as the ‘deal of the century.’ Could it have prophetic ramifications? Could it be the ‘peace deal’ of Daniel 9:26-27? While many Israeli politicians (such as Benjamin Netanyahu, Benny Gatz, Rafael Minnes) like the deal, various Jewish religious leaders (including the Temple Institute) have raised objections. What have Protestants and the World Council of Churches said about it? Will Jerusalem be divided? Is the USA at risk of troubles (Mark 13:8) and disasters related to this deal? While the architect of the deal, Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner thought he had significant Arab support for the plan, the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation rejected it. So, too, has Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as well as Hamas. Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan claimed that he received economic and other threats from the United States for his public objection of the plan. Could Turkey take actions against the USA?
