In an email today, Greg Williams, president of Grace Communion International (the current name of the Protestant group that took over and changed the old Worldwide Church of God (also now known as GCI) had the following in an attachment:
GCI President Update | March 2026 … In 2025 we remain active in 62 countries with about 27,000 faithful members. …
I think 2026 will be a bright, bright, bright sun-shiny year …
In July we will host our Denominational Celebration in Dallas, TX, US.
The old Worldwide Church of God had between 150,000 to 200,000 congregants at its peak.
As far as having “faithful members,” I presume Greg Williams means faithful to GCI as opposed to the Bible and original Christianity.
The Apostle Paul warned those in Corinth:
4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted — you may well put up with it! (2 Corinthians 11:4)
Sadly, those who stayed with GCI did end up putting up with, and then embracing, a different gospel.
Paul said something like that happened to the Galatians:
6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:6-9)
The Apostle Jude wrote:
3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3).
Early Christians did NOT embrace the Protestant gospel and related theology that GCI pushes.
Anyway, my hope for any possible Christians who may still be part of GCI is that they will study God’s word, agree to truly live by it, repent, and pray that Jesus would set them free (cf. John 8:32) from Protestant errors and support the most faithful church.
