The Europeans continue to be concerned about the USA and security:

The future of transatlantic relations, the self-assertion of the EU, and the danger of escalating great power rivalries are three main topics at this year’s Munich Security Conference, according to its chairman Wolfgang Ischinger.

The 55th Munich Security Conference, which runs from February 15 to 17, will be attended by the German chancellor, as well as representatives from the United States, Russia, and China.

The theme of this years’ Security Conference Report — entitled “The Great Puzzle: Who will pick up the pieces?” — is the broken world order. …

Ischinger also said that the European Union was “alive and kicking,” but faced a “pivotal year” of big changes, including the EU Parliament elections, a new ECB head, and a new European Commission president.

“An extraordinary complex undertaking,” Ischinger said. “But if that is all successful, the European Union will be strengthened, not weakened, by Spring-Summer 2019.”

In an interview with Deutsche Welle on Friday, Ischinger pushed back against the idea that the EU was about to crumble because of Brexit. “We are the strongest trading and economic bloc in the world [and] we have a lot of economic and soft power,” he said. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/munich-security-conference-chair-asks-will-pick-pieces-broken-world-order-115014669.html

The global liberal order is fragmenting, but who can fit the pieces together again? That’s the question posed by the report, released as a curtain-raiser for this week’s Munich Security Conference.

The world is in crisis — and the US is only making things worse. That’s the bold verdict of the Munich Security Report (MSR), released on Monday ahead of this week’s Munich Security Conference, the annual gathering for leading representatives of all the major powers. …

At least one of the main sources of this instability is clear. President Donald Trump’s administration in the Washington is showing little interest in holding to international agreements, and his tweets often openly question institutions including NATO and the United Nations. Even worse: Under Trump, the US appears ready to relinquish its role as a leading power in what is often still called the “free world.” … the MSR accuses Trump of displaying “an irritating enthusiasm for strongmen across the globe, suggesting that this administration is living in a ‘post-human rights world.'”  …

And what of Europe, which appears to be playing an ever-smaller strategic role in all these deliberations? “The European Union is particularly ill-prepared for a new era of great power competition,” the MSR declares, a point that is revealed by the new debate about Europe’s “strategic autonomy.” There does not appear to be a “plan B” for how Europe could emancipate itself in its global security policy. https://www.dw.com/en/munich-security-report-sees-world-as-a-broken-puzzle/a-47448944

Let me add that Europe does have a “plan B,” but it will not turn out as many there think.

Since Donald Trump’s election, many leaders in Europe have publicly stated that Europe must defend itself. And Europe has taken steps.

The PESCO scheme, an acronym for Permanent Structured Cooperation, involves 25 armies working with one another.

One such project, adopted in late November, involves France, Belgium and Cyprus developing a Beyond Line of Sight Land Battlefield missile systems family.

Another project, adopted in March last year, involves Greece, Italy and Slovakia developing and building a prototype European Armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle.

PESCO and a Great European Army

In November 2018, French President Macron called for a “true European army” because of China, Russia, and the USA. Some others in Europe have echoed that sentiment. On November 9, 2018, US President Donald Trump called that an insult, but the next day said that the USA wanted “a very strong Europe.” Emmanuel Macron referred to Donald Trump as “my friend” and indicated a desire to strengthen Europe’s military spending. In December 2017, 25 European nations agreed to be part of a military alliance called PESCO. Europe also has NATO and IEI. Will Europe end up with “a great army”? Has Donald Trump’s announcement to withdraw from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty gotten some to say that Europe must rebel against the USA? Is the idea of a United States of Europe and a European army a “paranoid fantasy” or a biblical reality? Will the USA regret Europe becoming a stronger military power? Will the USA be betrayed by “friends” such as its continental European allies? Does the Bible teach any or all of this? Are there connections to the Beast of Revelation or the King of the North of Daniel 11? Dr. Thiel addresses these matters in this video.

Europe sees more and more of a need to take military steps and the USA is encouraging them.

The Bible shows that Europe will end up with “a great army” (Daniel 11:25).

Partially because of Donald Trump, various ones in Europe have taken some steps and agreed to take more responsibility for defense (e.g. PESCO: EU’s alternative to NATO? and Europe moving towards its own army ‘Europe may soon produce its own Trumps’ and With PESCO, EU entering a ‘New Era’: An era that will NOT end well for the USA, Canada, or the UK).

Many see this as reasonable and logical–particularly in the light of real and alleged comments from US President Donald Trump.

Now while the Munich Security Conference report warns that the USA is supporting “strongmen,” and implies that Europe should not do so, that is precisely what Europe will do.

Europe will need to reorganize, but the Bible tells of at least two more reorganizations to come in Europe in Revelation 17:2-13 (see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?).

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)

You can call that “plan B” or perhaps “plan C.” This, however, is not really considered a plan by many in Europe yet, but will happen. (To prove this leader will be European, please watch the video: Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?)

The Bible shows that the strongman European beast leader, also called the King of the North, will arise promising peace, but will implement war:

21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. (Daniel 11:21)

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. … the king of the North (Daniel 11:39, 40)

23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom,
When the transgressors have reached their fullness,
A king shall arise,
Having fierce features,
Who understands sinister schemes.
24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
He shall destroy fearfully,
And shall prosper and thrive;
He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.

25 “Through his cunning
He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule;
And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their prosperity. (Daniel 8:23-25)

He will eliminate the USA and the UK. It is likely that he may attack under the guise of a NATO exercise and/or otherwise feign military support for the USA and the UK.

For those that think this could not happen to the USA, consider that Daniel 11:39 shows that a European power will destroy the ‘strongest fortresses’–which in the 21st century belong to the USA, this shows that the USA will be defeated, despite its military strength (see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).

Europeans are more and more concerned about security and the USA.

This will not end well for the USA. Nor Canada, the UK, Australia, or New Zealand.
