Fire whirl also called a Firenado or a Firetornado

Fires and firenadoes have hit California:

Residents had little warning as a deadly blaze exploded overnight in Northern California — leaping across the Sacramento River and hitting subdivisions in the city of Redding, south of the Oregon border.

“They say it was like a ‘firetornado,'” said Chris Corona, who lives in the area where the fire was burning. “People started driving on the curbs, through lawns, everyone was running.”

“Firetornadoes” are a real phenomenon. Intense fires can whip up towering spirals.

“You’ve got a lot of heat being generated right now around this Carr Fire and it’s all from the fire itself, but there’s a second source,” said Lonnie Quinn, chief weathercaster for CBS New York.

REDDING, Calif. (AP) — In the small northern California community of Keswick, only a handful of homes remain.

The air is thick with the smell of smoke and chemicals. The rubble of people’s lives still smoldered a day after the so-called Carr Fire moved through Shasta County like a freight train.

The flames so thoroughly ate up homes that it’s difficult to tell how many once stood above the pile of ash and smoking rubble that remains. …

This has been a summer of soaring temperatures and catastrophic fires. It has been so hot all over the world that even the Arctic is getting scorched: Temperatures in Deadhorse, Alaska, which is along the Arctic Coast, reached 80 degrees Wednesday—the average high for July is 56 degrees. And Europe saw its second-hottest June on record.

In fact, June had higher than normal temperatures across the globe. …

Up and down the West Coast, from Alaska to Nevada to Wyoming, firefighters are tackling 88 blazes that are currently burning more than 750,000 acres, according to the National Interagency Fire Center …

Near Athens, wind-driven fires ripped through the coastline earlier this week, killing 85 people and injuring more than 180 others.  …

In the midst of the worst drought in decades, more than 50 wildfires are burning throughout Sweden. Although no injuries or deaths have been reported so far, there appears to be no end in sight. …

For the first time on record, temperatures in Tokyo reached 104 degrees as an unprecedented heat wave swept through Japan. At least 65 people have died in the last week, and more than 22,000 have been hospitalized with heat stroke. Japanese officials have classified the unending heat a natural disaster.  …

Temperatures have hovered over 86 degrees for much of May and June with little rainfall to combat the drought. The Bible shows that God uses weather to get people’s attention. Sometimes to punish, sometimes to lead to repentance, and other times to consider that God, not humankind, is in control.

Notice that God controls fire and stormy winds (the combination of which can be deadly fires or firenandoes):

8 Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word; (Psalms 148:8)

What happened to the 500 houses in northern California brings the following to mind:

21 A cyclone sweeps them up — gone!
Not a trace of them left, not even a footprint.
22 Catastrophes relentlessly pursue them;
they run this way and that, but there’s no place to hide —
23 Pummeled by the weather,
blown to kingdom come by the storm.’
(Job 27:21-23, THE MESSAGE)

The Bible shows that whirlwinds are one of the forms of weather that God controls:

3 The Lord is slow to anger and great in power,
And will not at all acquit the wicked.

The Lord has His way
In the whirlwind and in the storm,
And the clouds are the dust of His feet. (Nahum 1:3)

As far as heat is concerned, one day it will be much worse:

8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. (Revelation 16:8-9)

Notice also the following about heat:

23 ‘The whole land is brimstone, salt, and burning; it is not sown, nor does it bear, nor does any grass grow there, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His anger and His wrath.’ 24 All nations would say, ‘Why has the Lord done so to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?’ 25 Then people would say: ‘Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers…(Deuteronomy 29:23-25)

Fires and the Wrath of God

Fires have hit many places; Significant wildfires have hit California. Shortly after the start of the Thomas Fire, California Governor Jerry Brown warned that the US President did not have “the fear of the wrath of God.” Does God use fire to encourage people to change? What are some of the scriptures associated with fire in the Bible? What is sin? What are some of the scriptures associated with the wrath of God in the New Testament? Is Governor Brown being hypocritical here? What happened to Sodom and Gomorrah? Is this relevant now? What did Jesus teach about the time of Sodom and the coming time of troubles? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

The Bible itself mentions fire as a tool that God sometimes uses. Here are some examples:

11 The Lord said:

“Surely it will be well with your remnant;
Surely I will cause the enemy to intercede with you
In the time of adversity and in the time of affliction.
12 Can anyone break iron,
The northern iron and the bronze?
13 Your wealth and your treasures
I will give as plunder without price,
Because of all your sins,
Throughout your territories.
14 And I will make you cross over with your enemies
Into a land which you do not know;
For a fire is kindled in My anger,
Which shall burn upon you.” (Jeremiah 15:11-14)

12 O house of David! Thus says the Lord:

“Execute judgment in the morning;
And deliver him who is plundered
Out of the hand of the oppressor,
Lest My fury go forth like fire
And burn so that no one can quench it,
Because of the evil of your doings.

13 “Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley,
And rock of the plain,” says the Lord,
“Who say, ‘Who shall come down against us?
Or who shall enter our dwellings?’
14 But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings,” says the Lord;
“I will kindle a fire in its forest,
And it shall devour all things around it.”‘ (Jeremiah 21:12-14)

11 The Lord has fulfilled His fury,
He has poured out His fierce anger.
He kindled a fire in Zion,
And it has devoured its foundations. (Lamentations 4:11)

15 There the fire will devour you,
The sword will cut you off;
It will eat you up like a locust. (Nahum 3:15)

My prayers are with those affected by the fires.

I, who also live in California, also pray that those in California will repent as worse problems are ahead if it continues to go in a moral direction away from the Bible. California set a bad standard when it became the first USA state to outlaw attempts to convert homosexuals from that ‘lifestyle’ (see California’s Brown Signs Anti-Homosexual Conversion Bill). Additionally, the State of California has made a bunch of anti-biblical anti-truth laws to promote the LGBTQ agenda (see ‘California To Have Harsher Penalty For Pronoun Violations Than For Knowingly Spreading HIV’ and Ba’al-ifornia: California’s intent to change gender definitions). Plus California has other issues where it is also setting very bad examples (such as the production of pornographic entertainment).

Weather problems can be a warning to people that society is going in the wrong direction (Amos 4:7-12). Notice also God’s use of fire between three thousand and four thousand years ago:

24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)

And why did it happen?

7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)

Why mention this in the 21st century? Because God turned:

6…the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6)

Notice also the following:

11 “I overthrew some of you,
As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
And you were like a firebrand plucked from the burning;
Yet you have not returned to Me,”
Says the Lord.

12 “Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel;
Because I will do this to you,
Prepare to meet your God, O Israel!” (Amos 4:11-12)

Fires should get people to consider. But will people heed?

Jesus taught:

7…And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:7-8).

8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)

The sorrows and troubles are just beginning and will get much worse.

Notice the following:

5 I am the Lord, and there is no other;
There is no God besides Me.
I will gird you, though you have not known Me,
6 That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting
That there is none besides Me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other;
7 I form the light and create darkness,
I make peace and create calamity;
I, the Lord, do all these things.’

8 “Rain down, you heavens, from above,
And let the skies pour down righteousness;
Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation,
And let righteousness spring up together.
I, the Lord, have created it.

9 “Woe to him who strives with his Maker!
Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth!
Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ (Isaiah 45:5-9)

Why does God create calamity? Here is part of the reason:

30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead. (Acts 17:30-31)

Do not be asleep or lukewarm. Repent, respond to God’s calling (see Is God Calling You?), live as a true Philadelphian Christian (see Christians: Ambassadors for the Kingdom of God, Biblical instructions on living as a Christian and What is a True Philadelphian?).

Acts 10-12: Visions, Dreams, and Gentiles

This is the fourth part of a multi-part sermon series intended to cover the entire Book of Acts. In this sermon Dr. Thiel discusses Peter’s vision, Cornelius’ message from an angel, clean and unclean meats, the martyrdom of James, the jailing and release of Peter, Herod’s death, the famine in Judea, dreams, past and coming persecution. Some amusing details have emerged from yesterday’s alleged trade cease-fire “deal” between Juncker and Trump.

Once Mr. Juncker entered the Oval Office, it was clear Mr. Trump was in a mood to negotiate, said a senior European Union official who was present.

Mr. Juncker grabbed the opportunity to argue that both sides need to refrain from further punitive tariffs or they would foolishly harm themselves.

“If you want to be stupid,” he told Mr. Trump, “I can be stupid, as well.”

Backing up his points, Mr. Juncker flipped through more than a dozen colorful cue cards with simplified explainers, the senior EU official said. Each card had at most three figures about a specific topic, such as trade in cars or standards for medical devices.

“We knew this wasn’t an academic seminar,” the EU official said. “It had to be very simple.”

What Happened?

In a nutshell, Trump backed down.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker reportedly used colorful cards with simple explanations to discuss trade policies during his Wednesday meeting with President Trump.

The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that Juncker relied on more than a dozen of the cards while explaining trade topics to Trump, including automotive trade, ahead of their Rose Garden announcement to hold formal trade talks.

“We knew this wasn’t an academic seminar. It had to be very simple,” a senior European Union official told The Journal.

Juncker and Trump emerged from the meeting with a handshake deal to avoid a trade war between the U.S. and the EU.

The leaders announced that they would work toward zero tariffs, and the EU agreed to increase U.S. soybean imports and decrease industrial tariffs.

Jean-Claude Juncker, president of the European Commission, came to Washington to try to persuade President Trump to stop his trade war with the European Union. Juncker’s approach, reports The Wall Street Journal, involved dumbing the material down just short of the point of using finger puppets to explain what “trade” means:

Europe felt that it needed a different way to communicate with Donald Trump, presumably so he would pay attention to enough details to make a deal to hold off on tariffs.

While that has happened, it will take time for a formal deal, should one happen.

I have long written that trade disputes between the USA and Europe would be a factor for the coming European Beast power to eliminate the USA, which is prophesied in Daniel 11:39 (see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).

From Donald Trump’s perspective, he most likely believes that his negotiation style is working. He also is pleased with the reported 4% GDP growth in the 2nd quarter of 2018–as that is something his US critics had indicated was not annually attainable some time ago:

So, Donald Trump has, thus far on this measure, done better than the mainstream thought.

From a European perspective, the Europeans seem to believe that they can reduce trade damage with the USA by trying other ways to deal with Donald Trump.

Earlier this year, the Trump Administration indicated a willingness to reopen the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) talks with Europe (see Angela Merkel welcomes US offer to resume TTIP talks).  But the Europeans apparently do not want to frame this week’s meeting that way:

The Europeans are more and more coming to the conclusion that they need to set the rules for trade as well as lead the Western world. They also have decided that, in certain ways, they need to be more subtle than Donald Trump on some points–as well as to put up with him taking credit for various things.

While the Europeans find Donald Trump offensive, they do not want him to get in the way of their unity and dominance plans.

The Bible shows that Europe (end time Babylon) will rise up (Revelation 13:1-10) and dominate trade.

How they worked with Donald Trump this week shows that they continue to move in that direction.

(Thursday) begins Tu B’Av, literally, the 15th day of the month of Av. This is a special day which was celebrated as a minor holiday in the time of the Holy Temple, and is destined to once again become a day of great rejoicing for Israel. In fact there is a tradition that links this day with the rebuilding of the Holy Temple. …

 A record number of Jews were said to have visited the Temple Mount on Sunday to mark the Tisha B’Av fast mourning the destruction of the two biblical temples, prompting rebukes from Jordan and the Palestinian Authority.  …

The Holy Temple was destroyed 1948 years ago. Throughout history more than one attempt has been made by the dispersed nation of Israel to rebuild the Holy Temple and renew the Divine service. … the anniversary of the destruction of the Holy Temple is not just a time to reflect upon and mourn the loss of the Holy Temple, but also a time to reflect upon the many attempts made by our ancestors to rebuild the Holy Temple, and to dedicate our lives to seeing their dreams and efforts become a reality in our day.

At this time, I do not believe that the entire nation of Israel has turned on to the idea of building another temple.

As far as the handwriting on the wall goes, that is a prophecy of conquering and destruction.

I suspect that many associated with the Temple Institute believe that Donald Trump will be one who will make the ‘third temple’ happen.

The Temple Institute works closely with the reconstituted Sanhedrin, and that group issued a coin with Donald Trump’s image on it a few months ago (see Sanhedrin releases a Trump-Cyrus ‘Temple Coin’ and Claims ‘Third Temple’ needed to avert war).

While Bible prophecy states that the animal sacrifices will be taken away (Daniel 9:27b; 11:31), they have to be started first. That is something those interested in prophecy should look out for.

As far as another Jewish Temple in Jerusalem goes, let me state that representatives of both the Sanhedrin and Temple Institute told me personally that they did not need a temple in order to sacrifice. Plus, one can see that animal sacrifices took place in the Book of Ezra without their being a temple:

6 From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid. (Ezra 3:6)

That being said, some in Israel do want another temple, but the entire nation does not support it.

It is likely that we will see the ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27 agreed to before there are regular animal sacrifices.

But an actual large Jewish Temple, like the one that Herod the Great built is not biblically required.

He said: “Everything I’m saying is the truth, the facts, and it is a fact that Joel Chapter 2 says the sun will be darkened and the moon shall turn into blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord shall come.

Years ago, I denounced the view that the ‘blood moons’ of 2014 and 2015 could mean that Jesus would return or that the ‘Day of the Lord’ was about to start. This was something that Mark Biltz (who practices Messianic Judaism) started promoting back in 2008–but he was wrong. John Hagee’s pushing of that was wrong as well.

Now, while there could be a war with Iran, North Korea, and/or Israel, this is NOT related to the upcoming blood moon. Mark Biltz has speculated about so many of these moons that one day he may well appear to have been correct. But that is NOT because these blood moons are a prophetic sign from God.

Yes, those who pointed to prophetic significance of the blood moons which happened over the past several years were wrong.

Furthermore, at least one Protestant thinks the 70th week of Daniel may commence tonight:

• 2018 AD (beginning of the 70th Week of Daniel – Passover, March 30) = Full Blood Moon over Jerusalem on 27 July 2018 which will be on a total lunar eclipse. The moon will pass through the center of the Earth’s shadow. Thus, on 27 July 2018, a central lunar eclipse or “Bull’s-eye Blood Moon” will be directly in line with Jerusalem and wholly visible in all of Israel. It will occur within 7 days or 21-22 July 2018 (27 July vs. 21 July or 7 inclusive days) commemorating the 9th of Av – the DESTRUCTION of the Solomonic and Herodian Temples in Jerusalem (day of fasting). From Passover, 30 March 2018 or Nissan 14/15 to 27 July 2018 will be precisely 120 days (inclusive dates), possibly signaling the onset of the 120 Jubilee cycles (120 * 50 yrs. = 6,000 years) … could this be the commencement of the 70th Week of Daniel’s Prophecy found in Daniel 9:24-27 (March 30, 2018)? No, the blood moon tonight is not the commencement of the deal of Daniel 9:27. First that deal needs to be made, and then it must be confirmed by a ‘prince.’ There simply is not enough time for that to happen today.

What is a blood moon? Here is one explanation:

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes in the shadow of Earth. This is an area known as the umbra, where light from the Sun is blocked by our planet.

So, before the longest blood moon of the century occurs, I again want to inform people that this eclipse is a natural phenomenon.

Because there are many false and heretical leaders that lead people astray on prophecy and sometimes they mention the Bible to try to act like God sanctions their nonsense, they should be denounced as false.

All should REALLY pay attention to the Bible.

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras — Nearly 50 seminarians in Honduras have protested against what they say is a widespread and entrenched pattern of homosexual practice in Tegucigalpa’s major seminary.

In a letter written to the seminary’s formators that was subsequently circulated in June to the country’s Catholic bishops, the seminarians asserted “irrefutable evidence” exists that a homosexual network pervades the institution and is being protected by its rector.

“Heterosexual seminarians are scandalized and really depressed,” one of the seminarians who drafted the letter told the Register. …

The Honduran seminarians’ letter reportedly was not met with praise for having come forward in June; Cardinal Maradiaga instead accused them of being “gossipers” who wish to portray their fellow seminarians in a bad light, according to sources in Honduras. …

In 2005, shortly after Pope Benedict’s election, the Congregation for Catholic Education released its “Instruction Concerning the Criteria for the Discernment of Vocations With Regard to Persons With Homosexual Tendencies in View of Their Admission to the Seminary and to Holy Orders.”

That Vatican document affirmed the Church “cannot admit to the seminary or to holy orders those who practice homosexuality, present deep-seated homosexual tendencies or support the so-called ‘gay culture.’”

Stated the document, “Such persons, in fact, find themselves in a situation that gravely hinders them from relating correctly to men and women. Tolerance for homosexual priests has been occurring in the Church of Rome for years.

Consider also the following:

What did the American bishops know, and when did they know it? This is the question everyone is asking in the wake of public revelations that Cardinal Theodore McCarrick had, for years, preyed on seminarians who visited his beach house. It is a reasonable question, a necessary question. I hope that someday soon, a few brave bishops will begin asking it, too—and giving the restive Catholic faithful some answers.

But it is not the most important question. For anyone exploring the corruption of the Catholic hierarchy, the question of how Cardinal McCarrick avoided exposure and prosecution, though important, is less critical than the question of how his rise through the ecclesiastical ranks continued, even while rumors about homosexual activities swirled around him. Why was McCarrick named archbishop of Washington, and given a cardinal’s red hat? While those are good questions, one to add is why does someone who has taken a vow of poverty and chastity even have a beach house to go to?

That is something that the Vatican should consider.

Another is that it is at least partially because of Rome’s unbiblical celibacy requirements that it has ended up with homosexual and other sexually immoral priests that have victimized so many over the years.

Even Roman Catholic approved translations of the Bible show that bishops/pastors and presbyters/elders were supposed to have a wife and children. This was partially to demonstrate they could handle a church as Paul wrote per the Roman Catholic approved Rheims New Testament:

1. FAITHFUL saying. If a man desire a Bishops office, he desireth a good work.
2. It behoveth therefore a Bishop to be irreprehensible, the husband of one wife,
sober, wise, comely, chaste, a man of hospitality, a teacher,
3. Not given to wine, no fighter, but modest, no quarreler, not covetous,
4. Well ruling his own house, chaving his children subject with all charity.
5. But if a man know not to rule his own house: how shall he have care of the Church of
God? (1 Timothy 3:1-5).

5. For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest reform the things that are
wanting, and shouldst ordain priests by cities, as I also appointed thee:
6. If any be without crime, the husband of one wife, having faithful children, not in the
accusations of riot, or not obedient.
7. For a Bishop must be without crime, as the steward of God: not proud, not angry, nor
given to wine, no striker, nor covetous of filthy lucre (Titus 1:5-7).

Note that the term translated as priest in verse 4, presbyter, simply means elder. Also notice that the Bishop is also allowed to be married. In Eastern Orthodox circles, while their priests are allowed to be married, their bishops are not (so men who become Orthodox bishops put away their wives and betray their marriage covenants–cf. Malachi 2:13-16; see also Was Celibacy Required for Early Bishops or Presbyters?).

Consider that the covetous are not to become bishops.

Consider also that even The Catholic Encyclopedia acknowledges that from the beginning, celibacy was not a requirement for church leaders:

Celibacy became an ideal for the clergy in the East gradually, as it did in the West. In the fourth century we still find St. Gregory Nazianzen’s father, who was Bishop of Nanzianzos, living with his wife, without scandal. But very soon after that the present Eastern rule obtained. It is less strict than in the West. No one can marry after he has been ordained priest (Paphnutius at the first Council of Nicaea maintains this; the first Canon of the Synod of Neocaesarea in 314 or 325, and Can. Apost., xxvi. The Synod of Elvira about 300 had decreed absolute celibacy for all clerks in the West, Can. xxxiii, ib., pp. 238-239); priests already married may keep their wives (the same law applied to deacons and subdeacons: Can. vi of the Synod in Trullo, 692), but bishops must be celibate. As nearly all secular priests were married this meant that, as a general rule, bishops were chosen from the monasteries, and so these became, as they still are, the road through advancement may be attained (Fortesque A. Thus, the celibacy requirement for clergy did not occur until the fourth century–and many did not abide by it for centuries in various areas. Furthermore, a requirement for clerical celibacy contradicts the biblical teaching on this matter.

When the subject came up in the fourth century, a Greco-Roman bishop denounced it:

Paphnutius then was bishop of one of the cities in Upper Thebes: he was a man of such eminent piety, that extraordinary miraclas were done by him. In the time of the persecution he had been deprived of one of his eyes. The emperor honoured this man exceedingly, and often sent for him to the palace, and kissed the part where the eye had been torn out. So devout was the emperor Constantine. Having noticed this circumstance respecting Paphnutius, I shall explain. another thing which was wisely ordered in consequence of his advice, both for the good of the church and the honour of the clergy. It seemed fit to the bishops to introduce a new law into the church, that those who were in holy orders, I speak of bishops, presbyters, and deacons, should have no conjugal intercourse with the wives which they had married prior to their ordination. And when it was proposed to deliberate on this matter, Paphnutius having arisen in the midst of the assembly of bishops, earnestly entreated them not to impose so heavy a yoke on the ministers of religion: asserting that ” marriage is honourable among all, and the nuptial bed undefiled;” so that they ought not to injure the church by too stringent restrictions. ” For all men,” said he, ” cannot bear the practice of rigid continence ; neither perhaps would the chastity of each of their wives be preserved.” He termed the intercourse of a man with his lawful wife chastity. It would be sufficient, he thought, that such as had previously entered on their sacred calling should abjure matrimony, according to the ancient tradition of the church: but that none should be separated from her to whom, while yet unordained, he had been legally united…The whole assembly of the clergy assented to the reasoning of Paphnutius (Socrates Scholasticus. So as late as the early fourth century, the idea of required celibacy was opposed by most of the clergy.

Of course, the celibacy issue is a major reason that the various sex-pedophile scandals involving Roman Catholic priests have caused a number of Catholics to leave the Church of Rome. Thus, being willing to look at this matter may help if many people do leave, so this would give them a reason to return to Rome.

All that being said, the reason I have believed that celibacy requirements could be loosened is because it is a major goal of the Vatican to have the Eastern Orthodox, and as many of the Protestants as possible, unify with Rome. Although both biblical and certain Catholic prophecies warn against this unity, they both indicate that an ecumenical religion will be adopted by nearly all the world. And, based upon my understanding of biblical and Catholic prophecies, I believe that this will be a religion that calls itself “Catholic” but which changes many doctrines. And celibacy may be one of them. Especially, since the celibacy requirement was waived for the Anglicans in 2009 who wanted to become part of the Church of Rome (see Some Anglicans Starting to Accept Pope’s Offer of Unification).

Twitter has been called out for a practice known as ‘shadow banning’:

President Donald Trump accused Twitter Thursday of “discriminatory and illegal practice,” vowing in a tweet to “look into” the matter.

Twitter shares added roughly a percent to the stock’s premarket losses immediately following the accusation.

Trump called out a practice commonly called “shadow banning” in which Twitter limits visibility in search results for particular accounts. Trump, following a Vice report about the practice, claimed the company is limiting the reach of “prominent Republicans.”

The Vice story claims Republicans such as party chair Ronna McDaniel and Donald Trump Jr.’s spokesperson were among those being de-emphasized in search results.

Twitter, in a statement to Vice News, said: “We are aware that some accounts are not automatically populating in our search box and shipping a change to address this.” A Twitter spokesperson was not immediately available to comment to CNBC.

Whether or not it is technically legal the courts will decide. But the reality is that shadow banning, the use of biased algorithms, and other such techniques by giant internet companies, like Google, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter are intended to reduce the number of people who would otherwise come across internet content in an unbiased search. These companies have repeatedly shown a bias against what has been called ‘conservative content.’

Algorithms employed by Twitter to limit the reach of hateful content are preventing the accounts of prominent Republicans, such as RNC chair Ronna Romney McDaniel, from appearing in search results.

The phenomenon known as “shadow banning” has affected several conservative Republican lawmakers, including Representatives Mark Meadows, Jim Jordan, and Matt Gaetz, as well as Donald Trump Jr.’s spokesman Andrew Surabian. It has not extended to their counterparts on the left, whose accounts continue to auto-populate in Twitter search results.

When contacted for comment, a Twitter spokesman told Vice that the shadow bans were the result of algorithms that analyze “account behavior” in order to reduce the visibility of accounts that routinely spew hateful and bigoted content.

Notice ” new behavior-based signals” and that was ” is to improve the health of the conversation and improve everyone’s Twitter experience.” This was supposed to reduce ‘hate speech.’

They try to sound good, but this has been a form of high tech censorship.

Many in the internet companies hate aspects of biblical morality and want to stop it.

YouTube uses terms like “community standards” to try to cover up its biases and censorship.

“When we have something that we think — that a fact checker has told is probably not true, or a lot of our audience is telling us is not true, we just limit distribution. We tell our algorithms that this is probably not something we want to see distributed widely. So that’s one way. Another way, a lot of how misinformation spreads, is by people sharing the content.… We actually pop up a module that says, ‘Hey you’re about to share something our fact checker thinks is inaccurate, you may not want to do that.’ That decreases distribution very dramatically, north of 80 percent, that’s very effective at reducing the spread of it.” http://ew.com/tv/2018/07/25/facebook-fox-news-infowars/

So, Facebook has another way to limit distribution of content it does not agree with.

But, it is through algorithms and changes in search results that places like Google, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter engage in more dramatic ‘shadow’ (since it is behind the scenes) censorship.

And often this censorship is against biblically-supportive content.

The mainstream television and print media also have their biases.

One of them is the apparent hope many have that if they harp against Donald Trump enough, he will not be re-elected and/or his influence will be reduced. For example, I saw an article yesterday that claimed that MSNBC had over 400 references to ‘Stormy Daniels’ but not a single one related to the war in Yemen the past year (https://www.salon.com/2018/07/25/msnbc-has-done-455-stormy-daniels-segments-in-the-last-year-but-none-on-the-war-in-yemen/). COGwriter, in contrast, had none on ‘Stormy Daniels’ and has had 1-2 per year on the war in Yemen. This is NOT because COGwriter is pushing Donald Trump (or Yemen), but it has to do with prophetic and theological relevance–plus I saw no point in pushing porn star claims (and yes, I have called Donald Trump out for his immoral behavior–see also my book Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse).

As far as Twitter goes, last month, a judge has ruled that Twitter could be sued for falsely advertising that it provides free speech:

A California judge has ruled that social media giant Twitter can be sued for falsely advertising free speech. As Bloomberg reports, the judge said that Twitter’s policy of banning users “at any time, for any reason or for no reason” may constitute an “unconscionable contract” for a company which advertises free speech.

The judge rejected Twitter’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit from Jared Taylor, who was banned by the platform in December last year, according to Breitbart. Taylor, a self-described “white activist” may proceed with his lawsuit against Twitter because the social media company falsely advertises free speech, yet bans users for “any or no reason.” The judge also ruled that Twitter could be sued on the basis of misleading its users, due to the platform’s promise not to ban accounts on the basis of viewpoint or political affiliation, which is frequently violated.

“This ruling has massive implications for the platform going forward,” said Noah Peters, Jared Taylor’s lawyer. “this is the first time that a social media company’s argument that it can censor user speech has been rejected by a court.” …

The hypocrisy of various powerful organizations has been appalling.

Censorship is increasing. However, lawsuits against the censors will only slow some down and change some of their tactics.

Although you might think that if you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear from surveillance or speech restrictions, consider that many in the governments of the West consider that those not supporting homosexual marriages, etc. are extremist. If you accept that the Bible teaches that homosexuals can change (1 Corinthians 6:9-11), that is something certain so-called “fact checkers” disagree with. Let me add that I also saw someone once on a documentary that stated that people who believed in the millennium could not be trusted and should be considered as potential terrorists. The fact that we in the Continuing Church of God would be considered pacifists, does not change the fact that, since we hold to millennial and other biblical views, we can be improperly classified as extremist by government employees with various agendas. Having biblical views are becoming more problematic in the world (see ZH: Germany has killed freedom of speech and expects the rest of the EU to do the same). Canada does not want certain biblical verses to even be quoted (watch Canadian censoring of the Bible).

While the Europeans and North Americans decry internet and speech restrictions in various countries in Asia and elsewhere, they are also implementing restrictions themselves.

The Bible says to:

1 Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)

And that warning includes telling of sins and prophecies that discuss punishment.

While actual ‘fake news’ is bad, understand that even in the West, a lot of what has been called ‘fake news’ was actually true.

That being said, it will be fake news from journalists and government leaders that will mislead people about coming wars and devastation! They are already putting out ‘fake news’ when many push aspects of the LGBTQ agenda (though that is done less in places like Africa).

The final phase of the work is continuing to move forward. More information is being put together, more people are being reached, and people are being reached in more languages.

What is the final phase of the work? How do biblical and non-biblical prophecies play a role? How will faithful Philadelphians be affected? And what is expected to be the Continuing Church of God’s (CCOG’s) part in it?

CCOG has a sermon titled The Final Phase of the Work and provides many details to help answer those questions. This post has some of the points of that sermon. Additionally, many details are in the article also titled The Final Phase of the Work.

It is the highly dedicated in the real Church of God (COG) that will finish the human part of the final phase of the work before (Matthew 24:14-15) and during (Revelation 11:3-14) the Great Tribulation and Day of the Lord. Presuming no significant organizational changes, for many reasons, the final phase of the work will be led by the Continuing Church of God (throughout Church of God history there have been significant organizational changes, so one must be cautious as more can happen).

This final phase of the work seemingly will consist of identifying what is happening in the world (specifically also in Europe, the Middle East, and the Anglo-descended nations), preaching what Jesus commissioned in Matthew 28:19-20 around the world, finishing the proclamation of Christ’s gospel of the kingdom as a witness along with persecution (Matthew 24:9-14), the rise and work of the two witnesses (Revelation 11:2-12; which will likely overlap a few days with Matthew 24:14), the likely assistance to the two witnesses by the scattered flock (Revelation 20:4; cf. Luke 9:2-6), the three angel’s messages (Revelation 14:8-11; plus other angelic interventions), and the witness of those persecuted and martyred for Jesus (cf. Revelation 17:6). And then Jesus will return and establish the Kingdom of God.

It should be clear to those who truly understand the warnings in the Bible that the final phase of the work for God’s people will also specifically involve dealing with the ecumenical religion that will rise up (cf. Daniel 11:36-38; Revelation 13:4,8; 14:8-13; Matthew 24:14-15) with signs and lying wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) fulfilling Satan’s plan, while enduring the Beast power who will take steps to eliminate the faithful (Revelation 13:7,13-17; 14:12-13; Daniel 7:21,25).

Being killed as the result of persecution is seemingly also part of the final phase of the work that some of God’s people will endure:

12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. 13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.” (Revelation 14:12-13; cf. 6:11)

Even though other parts of the Book of Revelation show that persecution will come from a combination of church and state (i.e. 13:1-8), various verses (i.e. 12:13-17) show that it is truly Satan that is behind the persecutions. The old Radio Church of God taught this about Revelation 12:13:

Now turn to verse 13…this is the persecution that is yet in the future, a persecution that is being secretly planned…(Hoeh H. Are Christians Again to be Martyred? Plain Truth. November 1956, p. 21)

Having looked over a variety of Roman and Byzantine Catholic private prophecies, I would suggest that Satan’s planning has not always been completely in secret and that such private prophecies will be cited as “justification” for some of the coming persecutions (see also Persecutions by Church and State; there is also a YouTube video: The Coming Persecution of the Church).

In order to fulfill Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:19-20, personal visits, printed literature, and electronic media are key. In 2017, I both, visited with leaders from seven countries in Africa, as well as established the website CCOGAFRICA.ORG, in addition I went to New Zealand. In 2018, I also visited CCOG members in Europe and the USA, and wrote more booklets than in any other previous year. Evangelist Evans Ochieng has been visiting people in various parts of Africa as well and plans even more visits (see Evangelist Ochieng reports on more growth in Africa).

About a decade ago, the late evangelist R.C. Meredith and I were talking and he agreed with various points I was raising about the end time work. And back then, I was able to help lead him to essentially state that in the end it would not mainly be the message of the COG vs. the Protestants, but it would be the COG basically vs. the ecumenical religion that will rise up in the end that will likely (for a while) refer to itself as “Catholic.” In 2005, during the Feast of Tabernacles in Clearwater Beach, after a private lunch, we and our wives met at his hotel room and I also discussed various aspects of the final phase of the work with him–and I had other meetings, discussions, and emails related to that with the other Charlotte evangelists through December 14, 2012. Yet, even though he and others in his church agreed to take many steps related to the final phase of the work, few, if any, of the promised steps were taken by his group–this is a major part of why the Continuing Church of God needed to form.

Interestingly, in December 2015, Dr. Meredith lamented the slow growth in his church. He said that 30% should be attained, but he hoped for at last 15% growth per year–something his church does not attain. Consider that the Continuing Church of God has been the fastest growing COG since its formation in late 2012. On a compounded basis, it has exceeded the 30% growth in both membership and income since it formed in late 2012. Even exceeding the percentage the late Herbert W. Armstrong often pointed to as a proof of a blessing from God. While our growth rate will fluctuate, the Continuing Church of God is the only one of the ten largest COGs whose leaders had origins in the old Worldwide Church of God to do so. Currently, we have over 3,000 people with us. The Continuing Church of God has been the fastest growing COG in the 21st century.

During the final phase of the work, the faithful in God’s Church will take a stand against the views of those who will support the compromised persecuting religious power (cf. Revelation 17:1-6). And though aspects of this have occurred throughout history, in the end it will be a major testing of their patience (cf. Daniel 11:28-35; Revelation 14:8-12).

A bolder, yet truthful, willingness to “name names” and call out what is happening will need to happen than the official COG groups formed between 1986 and 2011 have done–and this would seem to have to be led by the Continuing Church of God. (I have emails from one or more LCG evangelists where they objected to doing parts of this themselves, as well as notes from a meeting where they told me, and one was Dr. Meredith, that they were afraid that I could become too bold and that they did not want to take bold proclamation steps that could trigger the persecution that they teach is biblically prophesied.)

Faithful Christians need to be “ready to give an answer” (1 Peter 3:15, KJV), “ready to give a defense” (1 Peter 3:15, NKJV) to those that will tend to support the power that God opposes. And they are not to be “ignorant” of Satan’s devices (2 Corinthians 2:11) nor be deceived by “doctrines of demons” (1 Timothy 4:1). Part of the way that the more faithful will do this will be by better understanding the Bible, church history, prophecy, and Satan’s plans and tactics. Educating the membership about this is part of the final phase of the work. This is something that the Continuing Church of God realizes and is working to accomplish.

Notice what the late evangelist C. Paul Meredith wrote about where many Catholic (and Protestant) traditions, including certain prophetic understandings, have come:

PROTESTANT REFORMERS found the people unwilling to change their doctrines. The reformers quickly took the popular road, rejected the faith once delivered for all time to the saints, and began to FOLLOW tradition-CATHOLIC TRADITION which has its roots in pagan philosophy and doctrines of demons! (Meredith C, Paul. Lesson 14, What is Man? Ambassador College Bible Correspondence Course. 1958,.p. 3)

Part of the way that the more faithful will be able to resist these “traditions” will be by better understanding the Bible, church history, prophecy, and Satan’s plans and tactics. And it is part of what we in the Continuing Church of God are working on educating people about.

The gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed more powerfully to the world as a witness and the end will come (Matthew 24:14). We in the CCOG are reaching people in over 220 countries and territories and expect to continue to lead the humanly-involved portion of that, and certain other aspects, of the final phase of the work.

It is possible that this short work will temporarily swell the ranks of the Church of God (including some Philadelphians, but perhaps with many Laodiceans and many others not truly faithful—many may well fall away—though some of the first will be last and the last first, cf. Mark 10:31). Some will be faithful and bear fruit, while many others may leave (cf. Matthew 13:18 -23; 2 Thessalonians 2:3) once the persecuting tribulation that seems prophesied to occur prior to the Great Tribulation hits (cf. Matthew 24:9-10;21). Then the end will come.

Partially because of the message of the COG, the people of the holy covenant will enrage the upcoming prince/king of the North (Daniel 11:28-30). One or more associated with the Continuing Church of God will be identifying that the European “prince” (Daniel 9:26-27) who is rising up to become a king, will not be able to truly bring peace, but instead will bring war and will be in league with the final Antichrist. This will likely trigger major media coverage. Scrutiny of real, as well as claimed, COG literature will likely happen and various aspects of real and incorrect COG doctrines will likely be ridiculed.

Media coverage would then be expected to cover more of the COG message and this may be associated with the “short work” of Romans 9:28. Since the true COG is so small, it is highly likely that getting significant media coverage will help fulfill Matthew 24:14. Some of the Philadelphia remnant will be explaining that it is Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God and not the rise of a militaristic leader that the world needs. According to Daniel 11:32 it is “the people who know their God [that] shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” Hundreds of millions, if not billions, will receive at least a partial witness.

All of that will likely trigger the King of the North to take actions that lead to the end–this includes the persecutions, pre- (Daniel 7:25a, 11:29-36) and post-tribulation (Daniel 7:25b).

Since “Catholic” leaders have renounced the millennial portion of the gospel message, some of them will not want it to be broadcast into all the world in the 21st century (for some details, please see Did The Early Church Teach Millenarianism?). They will support the King of the North’s efforts to stifle the message, probably in the name of “tolerance” and/or calling parts of the message “hate speech.” A famine of the word is coming (Amos 8:11-12; cf. Romans 10:14-15). The Bible tells of a time, which to a degree we are now in, when a certain amount of self-censorship will be needed:

2 For I know your manifold transgressions
And your mighty sins:
Afflicting the just and taking bribes;
Diverting the poor from justice at the gate.
13 Therefore the prudent keep silent at that time,
For it is an evil time. (Amos 5:12-13)

And while some COG groups overly “keep silent,” hence pull-punches in proclamation, the reality is that there is not truly full freedom of truthful speech in countries like the USA without consequences.

However, the work will be done and it will trigger persecution. Until the work is done the most faithful will:

1 Cry aloud, spare not;
Lift up your voice like a trumpet;
Tell My people their transgression,
And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)

Of course, no matter what some Laodiceans insist upon, the end has not yet come–the final phase of the work is not over. Jesus also does not want us to give up early:

44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing (Matthew 24:44-46).

I should add that one person argued with me that since Jesus does not return until after the “place of safety,” that this verse does not mean we need to proclaim the Gospel now. Since it is likely that many of God’s people will die before then, for them, the Master could come anytime.

Remember that James wrote, “Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe–and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?,” James 2:18-20.

Thus it would seem more logical that the work should continue to be done now. Perhaps this would be a good time to mention that the Continuing Church of God has already reached millions and millions of people in over 220 countries and territories through the internet, radio, personal contact, and the written word.

We are reaching people in the English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Kiswahli, German, Korean, Dholuo, and Tagalog (Philippines) languages, and have our Bible News Prophecy magazine in thirteen languages now, with other languages expected in the future. Satan and the Laodiceans simply do not wish to properly support God’s work. Of course, many Laodiceans do not know that they are in that condition, and for many reasons will not understand the final phase of the work or who is leading it.

US President Donald Trump is upset with China:

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Wednesday accused China of “vicious” tactics on trade as he prepared for tough negotiations with European leaders in an escalating trade battle among world powers.

Trump tweeted that China was specifically targeting U.S. farmers with retaliatory tariffs because “they know I love & respect” them. His defense came after his administration announced a plan to provide $12 billion in emergency relief for farmers who have been slammed by the president’s trade disputes with China and other countries.

Addressing the China trade relationship, Trump wrote on Twitter, “They are being vicious in what will be their failed attempt. We were being nice – until now!”

The president was meeting at the White House later Wednesday with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and other European officials as their trade dispute threatens to spread to automobile production. …

Trump has threatened to place penalty taxes on up to $500 billion in products imported from China, a move that would dramatically ratchet up the stakes in the trade dispute involving the globe’s biggest economies. …

Trump pushed back against critics of his plan on Wednesday, telling them to “be cool” because “the end result will be worth it!”

On Twitter, Trump said people “snipping at your heels during a negotiation” will only delay the process. He wrote: “Negotiations are going really well, be cool. Trade concerns have been heating up in the past year or so, but have accelerated in the past couple of months due to threats, tariffs, counter-tariffs, etc.

Trade will be a factor in what can be called World War III–and this war will be a conflict with Europe (but the ‘shooting’ aspect of this will not happen before 2022; for some details, see When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?).

China will eventually make a trade deal with the Europeans.

Europe has more people and more money than the USA, plus it has not threatened the type of tariffs against China that the USA has.

Despite what Donald Trump hopes for, in the long-run, these trade matters will not end well for the USA.

Steve Bannon is on the warpath — in Europe. US president Donald Trump’s former chief strategist is a hard-right advocate of a hard Brexit. Now his ambitions extend further. He wants to dismantle, destroy and bury the EU. Mr Bannon, 64, co-founder of the alt-right website Breitbart News, is setting up a Brussels-based political vehicle called The Movement. Its purpose is to rally assorted rightwing populist and far-right nationalist parties in the campaign for next year’s European Parliament elections, to be held on May 23-26. Raheem Kassam, a former aide to Nigel Farage, the ex-leader of the UK Independence party, which claims credit for Britain’s vote to leave the EU, explains Mr Bannon’s initiative: “The Movement will be our clearing house for the populist, nationalist movement in Europe . . . We decided to headquarter out of Brussels because it is the heart of the European Union — the most pernicious force against nation-state democracy in the West today.” …

Steve Bannon Sets Sights On Europe With Planned New Political Project

Steve Bannon built his career on right-wing politics inside the United States but now he’s taking on a new frontier: the European Parliament.

Bannon described his plan to create a right-leaning foundation called “The Movement” to The Daily Beast. He plans to establish its headquarters in Brussels.

The Movement, according to Bannon’s account, is envisioned as a non-profit organization that will serve as the right’s equivalent of George Soros’ Open Society.

Bannon’s goal is to create a hub where the populist right can receive help with polling, research, voter targeting, policy proposals, and field operations among other efforts to help unite European populist groups.

“Bannon is a malignant far-right rabble-rouser.

In his case I agree, just this once, with the no immigration mob!

Bannon, for his part, has spun a dense network in Europe. He met and charmed the leaders of the right-wing scene — from Alice Weidel, co-leader of the AfD, to Marine Le Pen, right-wing figurehead in France, and the right-wing radical interior minister of Italy, Matteo Salvini. …

But Bannon wants more. He clearly pictures a dissolution of the EU and an end to liberal democracy in Europe.

Targeting the Brussels establishment

Right-wing nationalists at the European level have been quite uncoordinated up to now. Bannon could change this with modern campaign logistics, social media, voter profiling with skimmed data and other tricks from the US election. He could actually set something like a European right-wing nationalist “movement” in motion, building on electoral successes in Italy, Austria and Germany.

So, various ones believe that the EU is “under siege from English-speaking rightists,” Brexiters, Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, and others. They are concerned that English-speakers are threatening the very existence of the European Union. They are also comparing Steve Bannon’s movement to Adolf Hitler’s. Steve Bannon reportedly plans to spend about 50% of his time in Europe, mainly traveling around to promote the Movement.

The EU does not like what Steve Bannon is doing.

Nor do I believe that Steve Bannon will be pleased with what Europe will become.

The Bible clearly shows that Europe will become a warring power (Daniel 11:39-44), led by someone even worse than Adolf Hitler (cf. Daniel 11:29-38). It also shows that the success of the European Beast, King of the North, power will cause the world to marvel as well as defeat the strongest military power:

3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:3-4)

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (Daniel 11:39)

The Beast of Revelation 13 and the “he” of Daniel 11:39 is a European leader, also called the King of the North in Daniel 11:40. Notice that Daniel 11:39 states that the strongest military power–which currently is the USA (and to a lessor degree, its Anglo-Saxon descended allies)–will be taken over.

The Europeans are mad at the USA for many reasons (including its President Trump), the UK for the Brexit vote, and will decide that places like Canada are too connected to them to remain. Steve Bannon’s direct efforts to undermine the European Union are also not pleasing to the EU leadership.

The USA and its Anglo-Saxon descended allies will be defeated (Daniel 8:24-25; Isaiah 17:3; Jeremiah 30:7).

Did you know that Roman and Eastern Orthodox Catholic prophecies also tell of a time when a European leader will defeat the English-speakers?

Well, while the Bible warns against the coming European King of the North Beast power, many Catholic prophecies look forward to this leader, under the name of The Great Monarch.

Here are some more Catholic prophecies related to this Great Monarch and the ‘English’:

Werdin d’ Otrante (13th century): “The Great Monarch and the Great Pope will precede Antichrist…All the sects will vanish. The capital of the world will fall…The Great Monarch will come and restore peace and the Pope will share in the victory.” (Connor, Edward. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Willinger, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno; Reprint: Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford (IL), 1984, p. 33).

Saint Cataldus of Tarentino (c. 500): “The Great Monarch will be in war till he is forty years of age …. he will assemble great armies and expel tyrants from his empire. He will conquer England and other island empires” (Connor, p.30).

St. Columbine (d. 597): The enemies of the English shall be aroused in battle–they who reside in the eastern and western parts of the world … the English shall be defeated … After the English shall be defeated in this battle, they shall be harassed by every quarter; like a fawn surrounded by a pack of voracious hounds, shall be the position of the English amidst their enemies. The English afterwards shall dwindle down to a disreputable people (Culleton, R. Gerald.  The Prophets and Our Times. Nihil Obstat: L. Arvin.  Imprimatur: Philip G. Scher, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno, November 15, 1941.  Reprint 1974, TAN Books, Rockford (IL), pp. 131,132).

Note: it is possible that the “capital of the world” above being referred to is Washington D.C. or the United States of America. Also note that England was not known by that name in the 500s, hence the prophecy that mentions it would have used a different term in its original language that the Catholic translator apparently has concluded is modern England or those who are/speak English.

Notice this prediction:

St. Senanus (d. 560): They (English) themselves will betray each other: in consequence their sovereignty will be broken … One monarch will rule in Ireland over the English (Culleton, p. 128).

Now, consider the following from the Bible:

21 Manasseh shall devour Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh;
Together they shall be against Judah.

For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still. (Isaiah 9:21)

13 Also the envy of Ephraim shall depart,
And the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off;
Ephraim shall not envy Judah,
And Judah shall not harass Ephraim. (Isaiah 11:13)

6 … Ephraim shall receive shame,
And Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off
Like a twig on the water. (Hosea 10:6-7)

So, a betrayal of Ephraim and Manasseh/Samaria, English-speaking nations in the 21st century, is in Bible prophecy. Many in Judah (the modern nation of Israel) also speak English. Continuing with a Catholic anti-English prophecy:

Mother Shipton (d. 1551) “The time will come when England shall tremble and quake … London shall be destroyed forever after . . . and then York shall be London and the Kingdom governed by three Lords appointed by a Royal Great monarch … who will set England right and drive out heresy (Culleton, p. 163).

Here are others (the first of which is timing related):

Telesphorus of Cozensa (16th century). “A powerful French Monarch and French Pope will regain the Holy Land after terrible wars in Europe. They will convert the world and bring universal peace …” (Dupont, p. 31).

Priest Nectou (d. 1772): … when England shall begin to wane in power, the destruction of Paris shall be at hand. This shall be a sign. England shall, in her turn, suffer a more frightful revolution than that of France (Culleton, p. 176).

Various Catholic prophecies suggest problems for France/Paris before the Great Monarch gains power. The Bible does not make a clear statement on that–but it may happen (see also The ‘Lost Tribe’ of Reuben: France in Prophecy?).

Father Laurence Ricci, S.J. (died 1775): “After the rule of Napoleon a time will come when the people will become poor and the world will be punished in three ways: wars, famines, and pestilences. At a time when the whole world seems doomed, God will intervene. With His aide a valiant duke will arise from the ancient German house which was humiliated by the French monarch. This great ruler will restore stolen Church property. Protestantism will cease and the Turkish empire will end. This duke will be the most powerful monarch on earth. At a gathering of men noted for piety and wisdom he will, with the aid of the Pope, introduce new rules, and ban the spirit of confusion. Everywhere there will be one fold and one shepherd.” (Conner p.37)

The USA and the UK have long been considered the bastions of Protestantism.

The EU is not going to forget Brexit or Donald Trump, nor is it likely to forget and forgive the USA for what Steve Bannon is trying to do.

Despite having problems of unity (Daniel 2:41-43), the Europeans will one day reorganize and follow a leader that the Bible also calls the Beast (Revelation 17:12-13).

Steve Bannon, Donald Trump, Brexiters, and other English-speakers will not stop that. And this will not end well for the USA, UK, and their other Anglo-Saxon descended allies.
