Orthodox Rendering of the Apocalypse

Today, James Malm, a blogger and independent who claims association with the Church of God, again wrongly speculated on the start of the Great Tribulation this year.  He also mentioned some signs to watch out for:

WATCH for the Signs: PREPARE for the Realities…

There are some six KEY signs that must happen before the tribulation comes, and will happen during the days immediately priot to the tribulation as it is about to begin.  I have covered all of these in various posts and this is a reminder.

1)   The abomination MUST be set up in Rome and he will have ONLY a total of 1,335 days from the time he is set up…

2)   Subtracting the 1,260 days of the tribulation from the 1,335 days means that the tribulation will begin 75 days after this abominable false prophet is set up in Rome…

3)   As soon as this abomination is set up in Rome, he will call for and bring about  the rise of Babylon [the King of the North] in Europe…

4)   A comprehensive Middle East peace deal MUST be agreed and when it is proclaimed as achieved, the tribulation will be at the door…

5)   About four weeks after the abomination is set up in Rome, God will empower his two prophets…

6)   At this time there shall also be a great falling away from zeal for God and his commandments…

While his title is a good one, the reality is that there are a lot of errors in the above.

But the main one to mention right now (his #4) is that if the peace deal of Daniel 9:27 is confirmed in late 2012, that 2016 is the earliest possible date for the Great Tribulation to begin.  Notice Daniel 9:27 and compare it to Daniel 11:31:

27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.  (Daniel 9:27)

31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (Daniel 11:31)

The “he” in Daniel 9:27 is only a prince at this time (Daniel 9:26).  The “him” in Daniel 11:31 is the King of the North (Daniel 11:40) and it is a “prince” who becomes a “king,” yet James Malm has that out-of-sequence (his #3 is falsely preceding his #4–unless his signs are not meant to be in sequence).

Furthermore, there is a prophetic half-week, 3 1/2 years between the peace deal (his #4) and the abomination being set up in Jerusalem.  James Malm has proposed something impossible.  Cannot his followers see that?

James Malm also posted:

In 2016 a count of 45 days between the sixth day of ULB and the day before Pentecost will occur.  This is the ONLY year from now to 2020 that this count will occur.

If we remember that it is ”at the end of the days”; it is as the 1,335 days end, that the Kingdom of God will be set up and the resurrected saints will receive their inheritance and responsibilities; we should count back from the day before Pentecost 1,335 days to the setting up of the abomination in Rome.

That date would fall on 16 Sep [if my count is accurate] of 2012.

I am NOT saying that this will happen!  I AM saying that this is the earliest possibility, and with the current world situation it is certainly possible!

There is no possible way that the Great Tribulation can begin in 2012 and at this stage 2016 appears to be the earliest possible date (3 1/2 years added to any peace deal confirmed after June 30, 2012 puts one into 2016 at the earliest).  Also, his statement with the current world situation it is certainly possible! is in complete error.  While the world situation allows that the peace deal possibly could happen later in 2012 (and there may need to be a regional conflict involving Iran, Syria, and/or Israel for that deal to take place), it is not possible for enough of the biblically-required signs for the Great Tribulation to begin this year.

Somewhat like the followers of the false prophet Ronald Weinland of CGPFKG, James Malm and his followers overlook too many scriptures.  For if they truly understood them, they would realize that James Malm misunderstands much about Daniel 9:27, Daniel 11, Matthew 24, and other aspects of end time prophecy. It is not that he cannot get anything right (even the proven false prophet Ronald Weinland can get certain understandings correct), but overall James Malm simply misunderstands Bible prophecy and those that believe him will be disappointed if they really believe that the Great Tribulation can or will happen in 2012.

Notice the following from the Bible:

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.  5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.  6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.  8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.  10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.  11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.  12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.  13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.  17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.  18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.  19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!  20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.  21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.  (Matthew 24:3-22)

ALL of the above sequence prior to Matthew 24:15 has not been sufficiently fulfilled for the Great Tribulation to start this year–and while a short-work (cf. Romans 9:28) may be what will completely fulfill Matthew 24:14, James Malm is not doing such a work.  The end, meaning the Great Tribulation, cannot begin in 2012.

People need to search the scriptures (cf. Acts 17:11), for if they do, they will realize that there is no possibility that the Great Tribulation can begin in 2012.

James Malm, like Harold Camping and Ronald Weinland, is wrong and will be further shown to be wrong.  Although, unlike them, James Malm wisely is posting that he is not sticking to his wrong date.  But that 9/16/2012 date will be shown to have been wrong in less than three months.  Yet the fact he still clings to it as a possibility should be proof to all that he does not understand important aspects of end time Bible prophecy.

New Zealand and the USA are expanding military cooperation:

U.S., New Zealand Sign Defense Cooperation Accord

The United States and New Zealand signed an agreement to expand defense cooperation on June 19 but the deal does not alter Auckland’s longstanding ban on port visits by nuclear-armed American warships, officials said.The accord was the latest in a series marking U.S. attempts to shift its strategic focus to the Asia-Pacific, as Washington keeps a wary eye on China’s rising power. This is not a surprise.  The USA has been making a lot of agreements in the South Pacific and elsewhere near Asia.

Furthermore, because of biblical prophecy tying the two sons of Joseph (son of Israel), Manasseh (mainly represented now by the USA) and Ephraim (and mainly represented now by the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand), together (cf. Genesis 48), all the remaining Anglo-descended nations will apparently have relatively close military ties in the end–and this agreement is another step in showing that.

Because the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and others are highly concerned about the progress being made in China (both militarily and economically),  many have decided that they need more military cooperation to deal with this perceived threat.

And while China does, carnally at least, have major military potential (and may end up with at least parts of Australia and/or possibly New Zealand), this expanded cooperation would certainly seem to make sense for New Zealand.  Also as the Chinese government has already claimed that Australia militarily needs to decide between it and the USA (and Australia has thus far picked the USA),  Chinese prophecy hints that China will ultimately takeover some land to the south (like Australia and/or New Zealand),  Japan still wants more land, and Bible prophecy teaches that the lands of the Anglo-military power will be taken over and divided (cf. Daniel 11:39), those in New Zealand (as well Australia, the USA, UK, and Canada) have real reasons to be concerned.

Why else?

Because, ultimately, the USA will not be able to save itself from the rise of the European Beast power (which it tends to be encouraging as it erroneously thinks that China will be a much more serious threat than Europe).  And thus, the time will come when it will not be able to protect New Zealand and/or Australia from the powers that will take them over in the future.

Greens senator Larissa Waters, who is in Rio, said the diplomats who drafted the document had failed and national leaders needed to step in.

Greens urge Gillard to intervene in Rio

The Australian Greens are urging Prime Minister Julia Gillard to strengthen the “toothless” draft text of a global environmental agreement to be approved by leaders at a United Nations summit.

Environmental summits lose value as past pledges go unmet

As more than 100 world leaders descend on Rio de Janeiro for a global conference on the environment this week that’s supposed to build on the 1992 Earth Summit, some environmentalists say these large international gatherings have lost their value.

“We don’t need the heads of state here, frankly,” Pat Mooney, executive director of ETC Group, an Ottawa-based environmental organization, said from Rio. “Quite honestly the grandstanding around some of these treaties, it was nonsense and we knew it was nonsense at the time.”  http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/environmental-summits-losing-value-as-past-pledges-go-unmet/article4353692/

While Julia Gillard may truly wish to help fix the environment, Bible prophecy indicates that not enough will be done in this age, so that God will have to intervene:

18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth.  (Revelation 11:18)

God would not have to “destroy those who destroy the earth” unless at least parts of the earth will continue to be destroyed.  From the beginning, the Bible also teaches that humans are to be good stewards of the earth–for both plants and animals:

15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.  (Genesis 2:15)

10 A righteous man regards the life of his animal, But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. (Proverbs 12:10)

Yet, historically, most international environmental summits have tended more towards political agendas, with the actual environment seemingly being a lessor priority.

But when Jesus returns, that will be resolved and even environmental wastelands, like many of the deserts will improve:

1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;  2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, The excellency of our God.  (Isaiah 35:1-2)

Jesus taught that we are to pray for that time of the Kingdom of God to get here:

9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.  10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.  (Matthew 6:9-10)

Earlier today, the EU President Herman Van Rompuy some statements of possible prophetic interest:

EU Van Rompuy: Will Propose Economic Union in EU by End of Year

European Council president Herman van Rompuy will set out proposals for greater economic integration in the euro zone when he presides over a meeting of EU leaders later this month, he said Tuesday.  “In June we will launch a project that we will finalize by the end of the year so that before December we can really show not only that have a monetary union but also an economic union,” Van Rompuy said in a video statement here. “That will give stability to euro and the euro zone.”  http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20120619-711920.html

This is the same Herman Van Rompuy who stated last month that were would not be a “United States of Europe” (see On ‘Europe Day’ Van Rompuy says EU ‘Never to become the United States of Europe,’ Yet Farage Says Dictatorship Planned).  Yet Europe, despite its bumps, is moving towards something like that (though ultimately, it will be more of a dictatorship than what has typically been seen in the US of A).

Europe will end up with a dictatorial leader (Revelation 13).  And while now is not quite yet the dictator’s time, despite problems (Daniel 2:40-43), a major dictator in Europe (who I still do not anticipate at this time will be Herman van Rompuy) will rise up (Revelation 13:1-8), Europe will reorganize (Revelation 17:12-13), and become the final King of the North, European Beast power of Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:21-44).

And this will not be good for the United States of America (nor the British), and ultimately not the Europeans.

‘Iran, Russia, China, Syria plan ‘largest’ war game’

Syrian, Iranian media reports say air, ground and naval forces to conduct “Middle East’s largest ever military exercise.”

Although Russia’s Putin wants to teach the West several lessons, as does China, the reality is that Russia and China will back away from Syria and Iran if they feel it is in their best interest.

Iran and Syria will change, now or later, as their current alliance will not remain.  The USA and Israel seem to be working on something that will at least help change Iran as today’s Washington Post reports:

The above may embolden certain Muslims, Russians, and Chinese to do something similar to the West in the future (and popular rumor suggests that they all are working towards cyber-attacks, etc.)

The King of the South will rise up in the Arab world (Daniel 11:40), Syria (directly or indirectly) is likely to play a role in that occurrence, and Iran will not be the leader.  Thus the situation in Syria and Iran must change.

While Russia and China are prophesied in having important end time roles, it may be partially because of what will happen to the coming King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43), that Russia and China will eventually invade Europe (cf. Daniel 11:44).

As Jesus said in Mark 13:37, we all should watch.

“We are not coming here to receive lessons in terms of democracy or in terms of how to manage our economy,” said European Commission President José Manuel Barroso.

Mr. Barroso, asked by a Canadian reporter why North Americans should help pay for Europe’s crisis, broke from his conciliatory tone and effectively blamed U.S. practices for causing the European troubles.

“This crisis was not originated in Europe,” Mr. Barroso said. “This crisis was originated in North America. G20 summit: Barroso’s bungling blame game

José Manuel Barroso’s outburst at the G20 summit in Mexico amounted to sticking his head in the Los Cabos sand…The European commission president, José Manuel Barroso of Portugal, really did throw a serious wobbly at the G20 summit in Mexico. It was awful…No, I don’t think we can blame Canadians for Greece’s dilemma…But the wider implication of Barroso’s outburst should concern us all…the commission president still believes the crisis was caused by speculative banking habits and what one Spanish minister once darkly called “Anglo-Saxon accounting”…Barroso seems to cling to the EU’s glib assertion that the wider crisis was both caused by US/UK banking excesses…It was glib when eurozone bankers asserted it in 2008, and it is unbelievably glib given the current near-paralysis of the zone’s political and economic leadership.  http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/blog/2012/jun/19/g20-summit-barroso-blame-game?newsfeed=true

As I have written for years, the time will come when the powers in Europe will turn on the Anglo-powers in North America and elsewhere.  The Europeans will blame the USA, UK, etc. for various economic and other problems.  European Commission President José Manuel Barroso’s comments are helping the EU set the stage not only for current blame, and likely future blame on the Anglo-descended nations.

Despite its prophesied problems (Daniel 2:41-43), Europe will rise up, make a deal with the harlot woman of Revelation 17, and become the end time Beast power of Revelation 13.

Europe’s symbols have also tended to confirm its prophetic role in this regard.  The Greek 2 Euro coin (shown above) has an immodest woman, who is supposed to represent the nymph Europa (from whom Europe got its name), riding a beast (who is representing the pagan god leader Zeus).   And while that story comes from Greek mythology, the Bible mentions the following related to Europe:

3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.  5 And on her forehead a name was written:

MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

7 But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. 8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits…18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth. (Revelation 17:3-9,18)

Most theological scholars, including Catholic ones, believe that the city of seven mountains (hills in some translations) represent Rome.

The fact that not only on the Greek coin, but also in front of the EU Council of Ministers Office in Brussels, Belgium there is a large statue of an immodest female Europa on a beast. This shows that the European Union is apparently not ashamed of its suggested ties to these scriptures. Years ago, a Larry Blake sent me several pictures of the woman (Europa) riding the bull (a beast) as symbols of European Union which are linked for additional proof of these ties.

Furthermore, both biblical prophecy (cf. Daniel 11:39) and Catholic prophecy teaches that the European power will eliminate the English/Anglo-descended nations.  Blaming the USA, Canada, and UK for financial problems is likely to be one of the end time European power’s reasons for this.

And this blame has been happening, off and on, for some time.

(Reuters) – Greece’s conservatives said they are poised to form a coalition government with the Socialists on Tuesday, allowing the two parties that dominated politics for decades to share power despite a major anti-establishment election vote.

Conservative New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras promised to negotiate less punishing terms for Greece’s international bailout, after only narrowly beating a radical left-wing party which campaigned to scrap the austerity deal entirely.

A senior New Democracy official expected agreement soon on a new cabinet with the PASOK Socialists and possibly another smaller centre-left party following Sunday’s election, the second in as many months.

“We are going to clinch a deal tomorrow, we will form a government,” the official said late on Monday, declining to be named. “PASOK will participate more than symbolically … They will participate actively.”

Many in Greece are outraged and in a near panic about how their national economy has been handled, yet many realize that getting out of the EU now will likely make matters worse.

The Muslim Brotherhood’ candidate for the Egyptian presidency, Mohamed Morsi, may have possibly won, but the rules have  changed again in Egypt:

The Muslim Brotherhood claimed its candidate Mohamed Morsy, 60, won the election against military rival Ahmed Shafik, 60, but a sweeping legal maneuver by Cairo’s military rulers made clear the generals planned to keep control for now — even if Shafik’s refusal to concede defeat turns out to be justified…

In the latest twist on Egypt’s far from complete path to democracy, the generals issued a decree on Sunday as voting ended which clipped the wings of the president by setting strict limits on his powers and reclaiming the lawmaking prerogatives held by the assembly it dissolved last week…

CAIRO — Egypt’s Supreme Council of the Armed Forces has decreed an interim constitutional declaration following the dissolution of parliament by a court ruling. The document, published in the official gazette late Sunday, defines the authorities of the nation’s next president and the authorities of the ruling military.

The following are key elements of the declaration:

_The next president takes his oath of office before the Supreme Constitutional Court because parliament is dissolved.

_The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces is the authority that decides on all affairs of the armed forces, appointing its commanders and extending their service. It’s the end of Egypt as we know it. Early, still unofficial, but credible results, show that the Muslim Brotherhood has won Egypt’s presidency.. The biggest country in the Arab world is now about to start its first experiment in Islamic democracy in modern history.

Many Egyptians are celebrating. After all, a majority of voters elected the Muslim Brotherhood’s firebrand candidate Mohammed Morsi…

The move Sunday by the Egyptian generals is at least the third change affecting the Muslim Brotherhood this year.  The first was the disqualification of the Brotherhood’s previous candidate for Egypt’s presidency, and the second was the change to the power of Egypt’s assembly by essentially eliminating its parliament.  And if the Muslim Brotherhood is again declared illegal in Egypt, that would be a fourth.

And not surprisingly, the Muslim Brotherhood does not like what is happening:

The Muslim Brotherhood has vowed to face down Egypt’s ruling generals in a “life or death” struggle over the country’s political future, after declaring that its candidate had won the presidential election and would refuse to accept the junta’s attempts to engineer a constitutional coup.As final ballot results trickled in and unofficial tallies suggested that Mohamed Morsi had secured approximately 52% of the popular vote, the Brotherhood deployed its harshest language yet against the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (Scaf), promising to bring millions of Egyptians back on to the streets if attempts to rebuild the old regime continued.

The situation in Egypt is unstable and eventually will change.  At least one leader will rise up–and one likely who shares many, if not more, of the Muslim Brotherhood’s goals.

The Bible tells the rise of a leader of a confederation that seems to be based south of Jerusalem. Likely one composed of nations in North Africa, the Middle East, and perhaps the Near East. The main leader of the King of the South could be Egyptian:

40 At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. (Daniel 11:40-42).

1 The word of the Lord came to me again, saying, 2 “Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God:”Wail, ‘Woe to the day!’ 3 For the day is near,Even the day of the Lord is near;It will be a day of clouds, the time of the Gentiles. 4 The sword shall come upon Egypt,And great anguish shall be in Ethiopia,When the slain fall in Egypt,And they take away her wealth,And her foundations are broken down. 5 “Ethiopia, Libya, Lydia, all the mingled people, Chub, and the men of the lands who are allied, shall fall with them by the sword.” (Ezekiel 30:1-5)

Ezekiel 30:1-5 is discussing an Arabic confederation that supports Egypt before the Day of the Lord that will not do well. This is further support that the Egyptians will most likely have significant involvement with the king of the South (as does the fact their land does not escape the wrath of the King of the North). And while Dr. Morsi may not be the one who will the final King of the South, the group he is associated with would certainly be expected to support that type of Islamic confederation.

The Muslim Brotherhood was originally established in Egypt and seems to have the most adherents currently there (though it has branches in most of the Arab nations, if not all of them). And while it may not necessarily win the presidency of Egypt this time, it is making major political inroads in Egypt (as well as Gaza, Syria, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, and elsewhere).

To bring enough Arab nations together, I have felt that some type of “strongman” needed to rise up. One who Arabs would tend to respect–who might use or not use the title Imam Mahdi or Grand Mufti or Caliph ( he could perhaps use a version one or more of those titles, with perhaps other ones with more of a modern political sound)–he is likely to have title more than simply “president” (though that could be used along perhaps with a religious title). The time may be now for him to start to rise up and the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist groups may play an important role.

Events supporting the rise of the final King of the South are happening. Watch (Mark 13:37).

What is the purpose of your life? Does God have a plan for you personally?

Yes, but it is different than what many have believed.

Why did God make YOU? What is YOUR purpose?

The Bible teaches:

God is love (1 John 4:16).

The LORD is good (Nahum 1:7).

God made you to share His love with YOU.

As a matter of fact,

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:16-17).

Love is the main part of the meaning of life.

And YOU are also to love,

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love (1 John 4:7-8 7).

The Bible also shows,

If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also (John 4:20-21).

29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

32 So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He. 33 And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

34 Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” (Mark 12:29-34)

If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,’ you do well (James 2:8).

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. (John 14:21)

The Sabbath, for example, reflects love towards others as well as God’s love toward humanity–as it is clear that God intended Divine rest from the beginning. The Bible does teach that real love and ethics are found in the law of God. For more on the Bible and love, please read the article The Ten Commandments Reflect Love.

Jesus taught:

And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise (Luke 6:31).

Jesus also taught:

It is more blessed to give than to receive. (Acts 20:35)

Since we are to be blessed (Matthew 25:34), this means that we are to be givers.

You may be thinking, “well I have heard some of this before from some religion”, what is MY purpose? Who am I? Why me?

YOU are unique. You are one who can give love in a unique way. Ultimately God has special plans for YOU personally. YOU are not the same as everyone else.

The Bible makes it clear that we are not all the same and are not to contribute the same way, and it uses the analogy of the body in 1 Corinthians 12:12-23 to do so:

For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free–and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

Yes, YOU, whether strong or weak, are necessary. God’s plan includes a plan for YOU! Yes, you.

You are to receive and you to give love.

This is the true Christian meaning of life.

In the Old Testament, Job understood that God had a plan for him when he stated to God, “You shall desire the work of Your hands (Job 14:15). What Job meant was that after he was resurrected (this is discussed in the verses prior) Job knew that God had a meaning of life for him personally.

In the New Testament, Jesus taught the same thing. When He taught,

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself (John 14:2-3).

Jesus was saying that He would prepare a place for YOU if you were one of the Father’s children. God will work with you and you will not ever be forsaken:

6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6)

5…For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

Furthermore, notice the following:

But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked (1 John 2:5-6)

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another (1 John 4:9-11).

We are to love and receive love.

Those who are depressed about the suffering in today’s world need to understand that the Bible teaches,

God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away (Revelation 21:3-4).

And the happiness we will experience will be beyond that which humans can imagine (1 Corinthians 2:9).

God’s plan for you is to show you love through the forgiveness of sins, to ultimately reveal His loving plan of salvation to all, to give you more than you can even imagine, and for you to be able to show love to others throughout eternity.
